Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalThe room was too dark and since there was little to no natural light, it would be great to have better artificial lighting inside the room. We stayed in the blue room.
Beautiful riad with wonderful staff. Great breakfast. Great location - it might feel sketchy at first, and there are some homeless people nearby, but no one bothered us and we felt very safe once we got used to the vibes. It's in a 'locals area' and you get to experience Marrakesh as it is (not just touristy).

United KingdomNothing! It was wonderful
Gorgeous interiors and amazing staff. We felt very at home there! The staff went out of the way to make us feel welcome and accommodated us splitting our stay with a trip to the Sahara and kept our bags in the meantime! The breakfast was exceptional. Kim and George were wonderful hosts! Can’t recommend this enough. Riad is in a great location, about 5-10 minute walk to the main square and souks, so much quieter and calmer.

United KingdomThis Riad is beautiful. You can see the care and detail that has been given to this property. The room I stayed in was well maintained super clean with all the facilities required down to the littlest detail, everything was taken care of. The owners George and Kim were extremely welcoming, informative and always up for a chat. Everyone that works there was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. You must stay here when you come!

Netherlandsonly thing i can think off is that it would be good to bring earplugs. Breakfast is served in the central yard of the Riad and the rooms are located around it, so it could be a bit noisy when orther guests are sitting there. We have not experienced any problems with it. Still a very quiet en peaceful place, all Riads have this same layout/same issue.
We had a wonderful stay at Riad Smara. George and Kim were very welcoming and helpful. They could help you with arranging day trips and provide tips about restaurants. In less than a 10-minute walk you are at the central quare. And in a few minutes you walk straight into the souks. Despite this, the riad is an oasis of peace in the busy medina. The breakfast was amazing, a good start of the day with a fresh fruit platter, coffee, tea, and every day a varied selection of pancakes/bread/Maroccan cake. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and was cleaned every day. A good place to explore Marrakech from. The roof terrace was also very relaxing after a day in the busy streets, or to start off nice and quiet. Would reccoment arranging a taxi via George and Kim from and to the airport, as you can be sure that you will be guided to the door of the riad (the streets are small just a regular taxi will drop you off at the entrance of the medina). Would definitely recomend a stay at Riad Smara

FranceTough to find any negatives, but a 25cl bottle of local beer €5: minimum 500% mark up. Luckily I was too ill with all the polluted air to need more than one, lol.
Great breakfast, all staff superb and always available to help and advise. The riad is a little oasis to return to after a hard day inhaling exhaust fumes and dust. The young local lady member of the riad team suggested the Ensemble Artisanal for local goods as they offer fair fixed prices (allah be praised) and an excellent idea of what things are worth before you enter the Souks. This advice alone made the stay worthwhile! They would even walk around with you. So very kind!

HungaryThe room's cleaning is very deatailed, I mean not just cleaning, tidying up the personal stuffs also. From the outside is really quiet, but from the inside not really, so be aware that the other guests can be loud and noisy.

Georges was a great host, and so were thé peoole working there. Breakfast was good, fresh orange juice would be great but the rest was fantastic. The place is very quiet, which is quite rare in riads in Marrakech. The riad is beautiful, well decorated, terrasse is peaceful. Access to thé riad super easy.

United States of AmericaThere were limited vegan options for breakfast. Most of the breakfast options had milk and egg by-products.
Breakfast was delicious; they provided orange cake, croissants, Moroccan pancakes every morning, fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed orange juice. George, the host, was incredibly thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. He welcomed us to his riad with open arms. I had a great time speaking with him; he made me feel extremely comfortable as a guest.
