Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United KingdomBreakfast was a little disappointing. I have to eat gluten free and contacted the riad beforehand to let them know. First morning I had a very small dish of yoghurt (it was delicious) with one strawberry sliced up, and a small omelette the size of the breakfast pancakes. The second morning they had no eggs so I just had the yoghurt and 5 slices of banana.
Beautiful riad. Spacious bedroom and the roof terrace with pool was a lovely place to relax. Felt safe walking back at night. Staff very helpful and kind.

United KingdomLittle comfort items were missing in the room, things easy to fix, and the staff did indeed fix it on request. (Drinking glasses, bottled water, reading lamp, hand towel in the bathroom) . The receptionist was very helpful in all requests, sorting out issues.
The design and architecture is fantastic, the best Riad we have seen in Morocco! Most helpful and flexible staff. Good location, waking distance from everything. Clean and well maintained.

United KingdomWhile my overall experience at Riad Viva was enchanting, I must express some disappointment regarding the additional dinner package offered. Though the chicken tagine served was undeniably one of the best I've tasted in Marrakesh, I found the overall value for money lacking. The dessert, consisting solely of strawberries, felt underwhelming, especially given the price. Additionally, the extra charges for bottled water seemed unnecessary and somewhat exorbitant. Furthermore, the description of a candlelight dinner was misleading, as there were no candles provided, only a few scattered rose petals, which didn't quite match the ambiance promised.
My stay at Riad Viva was simply magical. The Riad's stunning architecture and cozy rooms provided the perfect escape. The terrace swimming pool offered a perfect relaxation between sightseeing the city . Yet, what truly made my experience exceptional was the impeccable hospitality of the staff. I felt truly valued and cared for throughout my stay. I highly recommend this Riad to anyone seeking an unforgettable retreat in Marrakesh.

NetherlandsWe had 2 sofa beds and a real bed. I slept in the real bed and it was not comfortable. The sofa beds were great so I couldnt get anyone in my party of 3 to change. The real bed was old and a little lumpy and the pillows were either too hard or too soft. Although that really is fully subjective. Despite sleeping badly, I really would come back. The whole place is just great! :)
When you arrive you think the area could be a little sketchy - but it really is not. Even after dark. And as soon as you buy something from the little shop in the alley, you have a friend for life I am sure. The area is about 10 minutes walk from the hussle and bustle but it is great to be able to come back to peace and quiet and chill on the rooftop. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is more than adequate. Some savoury (like an egg) would be nice.

United KingdomWith a gluten intolerance I had to bring my own food each morning as there was nothing I could eat, the breakfast was just bread and pancakes no fruit or vegetables. You have to walk through a bit of an alleyway to the Riad, which is a bit annoying but probably a good thing as it makes it quiet at night. I would have liked the bathroom door in the bedroom was not solid.
My partner and I stayed at Riad Viva in a deluxe double room on the ground floor which had a large bed, little seating area and a bathroom next to it with a shower. The Riad was clean and very pretty, staff were lovely and attentive however breakfast was not great.

United KingdomBeautiful Riad, the room was just gorgeous, with many details that made the atmosphere unique. The central garden was breath taking and the terrace was a little oasis where to relax. The staff was kind, polite and very helpful. They organised a lovely dinner for me with a tasty tajine. It is within walking distance from the main square and souk area and also close to other places to visit (Saadian tombs and Baldi palace).

SpainVery nice traditional bathroom but needs a bit of love ! The towels were not nice and coat hangers were short on supply. The location is in an older part where cars/cabs cannot go, all alley ways; not good if you have problems walking. Only one way in and out. The residents who live there were very friendly we felt very safe.
The Staff were very helpful and cheerful The room was very, very large. The breakfast was good and there was plenty. Lovely Terrace and other areas to relax. Plenty of hot water for showers.

Wonderful staff. They really do their very best to help and guide you. Always smiling. It feels safe in the riad- and it is nice and quiet. It is a Oasis away from the hustle and bustle in the streets. We really enjoyed the roof top. We arrived late at night - hungry and tired. That is no problem the night guard Redone will make you feel right at home, helping with ordering food ext. so thank you to the staff it wouldn’t be the same without you - you make the place.

United KingdomSometimes, they are fully booked, so I have to find somewhere less gorgeous to stay.
I have stayed in 30 Riad's, Auberge's and Gite's in Morocco over the last 3 years, and Riad Viva (I've stayed 3 times now :) is by far one of my favourites; especially in Marrakesh. The location is lovely and quiet, being situated between the Mamounia Gardens and Youssef Ben Tachfine. The accommodation is beautifully decorated with lovely plants and the rooms are a good size. It always reminds me of a Roman Villa as the quadrangle is open to the sky with a fountain in the middle. Vespasian would be jealous. The service is always first class and responds promptly; whether it is for refreshing tea, dinner on the rooftop terrace or if you have left your expensive Bose earbuds behind whilst rushing for the airport because you don't want to leave. PS: I always use their private driver Mechrouki Soufiane for my airport transfers. Riad Viva is always my first choice when planning a trip to Marrakech and I hope to be back there again soon.

United KingdomWe had to come home and work again! :D We would love to stay longer, couldn't try everything but next time!
Shortly - Everything was Perfect! :) Very warm welcome by Maria, she explained everything and made sure we feel comfortable and homey all along our stay. They served a mint tea with nuts while we waited for our room (we arrived too early). The room was amazing - the style, the comfort, the cleaniness.. Jaw-dropping. Bed was extremely comfy, we slept a lot and also eat a lot :D because their kitchen was as great too! Had our room cleaned every day, the ladies were really nice and helpful too. Also they looked after my plush bear well :D Without asking they made our room more comfortable (got an extra little rug as the stone flooring was a bit cold for me but they sorted it out without me asking for it, very thoughtful!! ). Also got an extra plate for my soap, which was melting in water otherwise, which I wouldn't mind but how nice is to care about that too... Thank you , ladies! The night receptionist - Redouane, was a great guy! Very friendly and helpful, gave us best advices and tips for our holiday, also where to eat, what to try as (we're courious about the life of the locals). We couldn't complete fully, so next time we will!! :D Always he cared about how do we feel and how our experience was. Couldn't be any kinder for sure!! And also get on well with my dear husband who don't usually talk to people :D ... But Redone definitely found the tone with him and also get him a proper handmade jumper and a hat too, my hubby was all over the moon, and shows it to everyone now... :D We stayed over New Years Eve, and had a delicious candle light dinner at the Riad - the food was extraordenary... Everything was just way beyond expectation!!!Best food we ever tried -and we love to eat! :) We couldn't thank enough your care and all your work for making our stay wonderful! I hope we'll see you again!!

LatviaHere we (6 people) stayed for 2 nights. We are satisfied about how welcoming people are here! We arrived a bit earlier, and host welcomed as with traditional tea, and also checked in earlier. The staying in beautiful Riad Viva was such a great experience. Redone answered on all our questions about transport here, and offered us to leave bags before and after cheking time, as we had time to go exploring Morrocco. I't was a pleasant stay here, thank you!

United KingdomWe had a great experience until, unfortunately, the last night. We were on the bottom floor and some guests decided to spend their time in the lobby and were very loud, where we could hear every part of their conversation in great detail until about 1/2am. Probably more of a reflection of the guests than the riad, but I suppose to be mindful if you're located on the ground floor
The staff were so lovely and accommodating - we were welcomed with mint tea, had fresh breakfast supplied every morning, and time was spent showing us where things were to go see. The building was beautiful. Room was cleaned every day.
