Budget friendly stay right at the Medina - if you don't mind noise

Noisy area, all night noise and motorcycles driving around. Smelly - if you open the window, it always smells badly like old fat from the place next door. Hot water works often not, only after asking for new gas. Annoying when you stand naked in the shower. The shower drain doesn't work well so the whole bathroom gets flooded, AC didn't heat - nasty on a cold day.

Very friendly and helpful service, always reachable. Location is great - taxi accessible, and you can walk right in the Medina. Good checkin experience. Offers laundry service for a fair price.

    It was all ok

It was a lovely colorful hotel, yards from a gate into the old city. The owner was helpful, welcoming and informative. The terrace and communal breakfast room were a delight, particularly the bright decoration. This is a strictly non-smoking hotel, good to know in town with a liberal attitude to the local brands. The restaurant next door had a former NYC top restaurant chef in residence cooking beautiful dishes at very reasonable price (the sole was OMG). Chefchouen’s quaint and welcoming bar and wine store is a six-minute walk.

    Nothing

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Sakura, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was struck by its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's location is excellent, situated in the heart of the city, within walking distance to many popular attractions. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with all the necessary amenities, including a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom. What truly sets Hotel Sakura apart, however, is its exceptional staff. From the friendly front desk team to the attentive housekeeping staff, everyone was warm, welcoming, and eager to help. Even assisted us and took us personally to a local good restaurant Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Sakura to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay. Its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and exceptional staff make it a true hidden gem in the heart of the city.

    Patio’s Location

The covered patio and rooftop patios are a great spot to get away from the crowds and hang out. Zaïd was super helpful with recommending places to eat, bank machine locations. He even leant me 300dhr when I couldn’t get cash out Of the bank machine. Turned out that I was able to find a machine that worked me my card.

Though I stayed here for 1 night, would say that this place is really beautiful and is just like right on the foothill of Blue City. You can witness a beautiful Sunset as well as Sunset from the terrace of this place. The rooms are really spacious with confortable bed and at affordable price. The best was the breakfast, lot of variety and was freshly made just like home. Was delicious and warm. Would totally recommend to stay at this beautiful Riad.

I liked the location of the hotel and its design, which reflects the identity and lifestyle of the city of Chefchaouen. The brothers, Zaid and Ryan, are truly wonderful in their warm welcome , and they always show how happy they are to help us with any inquiries or offer advice on exploring the city. My car was scratched outside the hotel, and when I returned the next day, I was surprised to find that Zaid and Ryan had repaired the scratch. Many thanks to them!

Abdul is a wonderful host and does everything needed to feel at home. Tea is always available throughout the day. Beautiful Mountain View’s from the two terraces, one covered from the hot middy sun. Excellent position at the entrance to the Medina with local non touristic restaurants nearby. Will definitely be back ❤️🌟

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Riad Sakura in Chefchaouen, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The riad itself is beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan elements, creating an authentic and cozy atmosphere. My room was immaculate, with a comfortable bed and a charming view of the medina. The rooftop terrace was a highlight, offering stunning panoramic views of Chefchaouen's famous blue streets and the surrounding mountains.

Let me clarify that the following issues were made worse by the exceptional weather conditions: it poured rain for 3 days with very little interruptions. The room felt smaller that we expected (even though this is a result of a less-than-ideal floorplan). The double bed was the smallest we had in Morocco and not the most comfortable, even if it was ok. The worst thing however was the cold: there is no heating in the room (the AC would only blow cold air), there are only blankets but no duvet, and even if extra blankets are provided you never feel warm even when in bed. Having had to spend more time than expected in our room, it didn't make for a great stay. Nothing ever seemed to dry - and it didn't help that we weren't offered a change of towels in 3 days. I am sure the above would not have been big issues in nice weather and/or with a shorter stay. However, Chefchaouen is a mountain village and an establishment like this should be able to offer a pleasant stay in any season and with any kind of weather.

Our host was exceptionally welcoming, he offered us harira when we arrived (we stayed during Ramadan), chatted extensively and pleasantly with us (in very good English) about all sorts of stuff, and was always responsive when we needed anything. The breakfast (which was extra, and we only had one morning) was one of the best we ever had in Morocco, very generous in size, tasty and all freshly made. You can tell the guy can cook! The small restaurant looks really cool and the terrace offers a beautiful view - must be lovely in sunny weather. The location of the riad is very convenient, just outside one of the main doors of the Medina. If you take to the left just outside the riad, you can take a short nice hike up the hill and enjoy a beautiful view of Chefchaouen.
