Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandLive music in the restaurant. I went out to eat. Staff at reception not pleasant or helpful (inc. concierge) Food at the poolside restaurant was not great...
Breakfast was very good with good coffee. The room and balcony (with canapé and view over pools and gardens) was so nice that I spent a lot of time there. Lots of places to sit in common areas.

United States of AmericaIf I had to point out one concern for the hotel - on the last day I was slightly disappointed by the staff outside who hailed us a taxi. Their mannerisms suggested that they were only looking for a tip from us as we departed. I told them we had to go to the train station to catch our train to Rabat. They didn't listen and thank God I asked the taxi driver midway as the journey seemed longer than usual. It turned out they had told him we were going to the airport, whereas, we had to go to the train station which was maybe at most 8-10 minutes ride from the property. Thank God we made it on time, literally two minutes before our train left. I feel their staff should pay more attention to what the guests are saying and not be lurking around for tips.
The hotel had a great location - even the rooms were very decent! They gave us a nice room with a balcony as my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. They were kind enough to send us a cake to the room - which we both greatly appreciated!

United States of America- charged us $24 for 2 extra coffees in the room and we were staying in a suite - suite was a strange design, main bathroom with tub no toilet, a small room for toilet on the other side of room, and then another small room for the shower - music at SO lounge wasn’t great
- service was great, shout out to Bakl at the Darkum place for being the best service provider - pool was nice and big - bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had at a hotel - design of the hotel is very beautiful

United KingdomSHOCKED that you are associated with the SO lounge, this place is an absolute disgrace and is in terms of reputation, damaging. The fact that the only places for dinner/drinks are full of leery groups of very young men that would never get in to a credible European bar/clubs says it all. Rubbish service, very arrogant host, trying to segregate nationalities, no dress code or conduct standards, waiters attempting to force us in to ordering alcohol when we had enough, preference to locals that are “buddies” over hotel guests. The list is extensive! This place seemed to have people underage (sub 18) and a general obsession for Instagram/selfies…. Yet the majority clientele don’t really spend much and put off people that would. other - same (not good) house music as in so lounge seems to come on by the pool around 10.30/11…. loud. It’s distracting during breakfast and worse if your unlucky to be near a speaker (they are everywhere) …. If we were booked for longer we would consider leaving on the basis it’s disruptive and guests are at the mercy of some early 20’s kid with an iPhone hooked up to 100 speakers…. and playing their personal choice of music. L’orangerie - hardly any of the staff in the restaurant could understand English, only one out of 5 so it was a little annoying as it’s an international place. I speak some Arabic and French so got by but prior to that had overheard the staff discussing a situation in earshot, they need to be mindful some British guests will speak some of their language. Next - the day of departure your housekeeping lady entered the room 3 times in 40 mins whilst I was trying to pack, before agreed checkout time, it felt as though she was waiting to be tipped but Frankly this actually meant I didn’t leave anything as it was so annoying. Final point - courtesy room, no key given so no lights to shower and room was dark, had to chase for the key which meant we were very short on time.
Made to feel welcome & Reception staff good on arrival (less so on departure). Good pool, very good breakfast and lunch options. If ONLY the buffet was open for dinner. Nice to see a large range of products to shop. Decoration good throughout. PR manager and one very sweet guy serving by the pool (most smiley one!) always saying hello and nothing too much trouble. Also your singing chef doing a rendition of ya Ghayeb - he’s a star. Hostess at lorangerie was very helpful. This hotel could so easily be 10/10 and have a more mixed clientele at So lounge (that spend money) - if only they sort out the direction there. Otherwise it’s all small niggles that are annoying, but fixable.

United Kingdomrooms 60-71 are near the fire exit that the staff come into the hotel at 4.45 am and make a huge racket. they are also near the cupboards that the cleaners store their buckets and mops in which they have little or no respect for the sleeping residents at that time in the morning . I mentioned it to the hotel manager and her reply was “yes we know , sorry”

IrelandCheck-in was smooth and easy. The lady at the front desk (I forgot her name was but she had brown hair) was very nice, well-spoken, and welcoming. She did a fantastic job of getting us checked in very quickly and immediately offered us refreshing Moroccan mint teas after we said that we were off to a bad start at the airport because the airline lost our luggage. She was very eager to assist and willing to go the extra mile for guests. She even gave us a free room upgrade upon learning that it was our first time in Marrakech. It was a sweet treat, as I celebrated my birthday on that week as well. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom felt luxurious and amazing. My only concern was that there were not enough toiletries for two people, but it was easily solved by asking for it from housekeeping staff. Breakfast was superb and had a lot of selections. My other concern was that it could take you a while to get the staff’s attention for tea or coffee when place fills up. Otherwise, the quality of the food was second to none. We also booked ourselves in for a relaxing afternoon at the hotel spa. We went for the hammam and whole body massage and I have to say, it was one of the best scrubdowns and massage I’ve ever had in my life. Every penny that I paid for that service was absolutely worth it. My therapist (Zena from Tunisia) was very adept and skillful about finding my sore and tense spots. I left the spa feeling like a new man. Shame that we weren’t able to use the heated pool, but I’m sure that could have been class as well. Overall, I had a dream stay in Sofitel Marrakech and I’m already looking forward to coming back next year. 😁

United KingdomTwo less then par experiences with staff. Having read all the reviews online and trip advisor, I was conscious this may been the case. For the most part at check in reception, concierge, doormen and breakfast staff were super friendly. However the pool staff weren’t helpful. We went to the pool three times during our stay, had to wave them over each time for towels, asked for umbrellas, which never came, and the worst was when we ordered food & drink and it didn’t arrive. After an hour of waiting we just left. We flagged during check out and the receptionist didn’t offer an apology. The check out receptionist wasn’t friendly or helpful either.
Fantastic hotel, facilities, pool one of the best breakfast buffets I’d ever seen! For the most part, staff were helpful.
