How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe location is good, near the city center. Air condition was working, and it is very quiet. I think the rooms and the location are safe (even if the first impression was different).
There were condoms in the cabinet, of which one package was used. Communication with the owner only via WhatsApp possible, which was not a problem for me, but for my colleague. Owner begged us to pay in cash, but we insisted to pay by card. The main entrance to the "hotel" is in the dirty backyard of a building block, which does not give a good and safe impression, in particular when arriving at night. No elevator, a staircase which needs maintenance.

The AC didn’t work and it was too hot inside, nobody even suggested to cut the price or give any compliment for the inconvenience. There wasn’t warm water in the shower.

Verified review-
The only reason we booked this property was because the payment was possible with card. When arrived we were told that it was not possible which made us loose a lot in transactions and we felt like it was a scam.

Verified reviewFantastic stylish large studio apartment, clean and quiet, and very central. 10 minutes walk to/from airport bus stop. Helpful staff. Near restaurants and supermarket. Well equipped. We loved it! The decor was awesome.
Not dislikes, just things to bear in mind. You pay in cash (Lei) in full, so make sure you have that with you. It’s apartments, rather than a traditional hotel, so you contact the staff by WhatsApp. It’s also over 5 floors with no lift, so not suitable for those with mobility issues/heavy luggage.

Verified reviewThe room matched my expectations based on the photos. Over the top styling, but fun!
Had to pay cash on the spot, which in my case costs ~EUR 6 (atm fee, bank fee), while they could take credit card for the guarantee. This was a surprise.

Verified reviewLocation was good ..... after you find the hotel. Room was clean, and of a good size.
Finding it was hard, as it has no front entrance, its up an alley, and entered through the rear. A rear that looks very dodgy. Check in was awful. No one was there to check us in, and only after 3 calls did someone come. And with that call, the said I had no booking to begin with?! It got sorted eventually, but room wasnt cleaned, so I had wait another hour. The girl who gave us the key, and the cleaner were fantastic btw. But check in was a nightmare. Another family of 3 was waiting beside me with the same problem. This needs work

Verified reviewInternet works well. Location is decent. Many places to eat or drink are around. A good experience if you like disastrous places :)
I was expecting holes in walls, old furniture and so, but this surpassed my expectations :) The apartment is on a ground floor with windows to a parking, so forget about walking inside without window blinds completely pulled down after dark. There are no other lights in the room, except the main light. Yes, no bed-lights. And you can't switch the main light from the bed so you have to get off and walk back in the complete darkness. Unless you flash-light with a phone. However decide, if you want to use the phone or charge it, as there are no sockets near the bed :) So plan your strategy. You may hardly sleep at night due to running toilet water, or due to mattress indentations are deeper you ever experienced before. But it's fun to sleep in a pit. (Luckily toiled water somehow stopped running on my second night) TV channels are off, so you can enjoy the YouTube at best. :) In the morning you may find the shower pours water everywhere, but you, so take care of your clothes since there is no shower screens as well. While I asked to pay with a corporate card, a girl beg me to pay in cash with a friendly (for her) exchange rate. I didn't ask for a receipt and never did after this experience, so had to pay from my personal money and was happy I stayed just for 2 nights. :)

Verified reviewClose to the center and most tourist attractions and restaurants, etc. Friendly service.
Many! Starting from the main entrance. No one answered the doorbell, we had to make a phone call and after a few minutes someone showed up and took us to the apartment. Payment only in cash! The apartment is very different from what the photos show. The kitchen cabinets are very damaged. The fridge door did not close and the whole fridge was moldy. The freezer door was propped up with a chair, because it wouldn't stay closed, so the interior was full of ice. The walls were dirty, they definitely need refreshing. The same with the ceilings - old stains. The sofa in the living area was damaged, behind it there was a lot of garbage. In the bathroom, the water in the toilet was running non-stop. Leaking shower - despite the closed shower door, the whole floor was flooded! The water was leaking from somewhere underneath. Only YouTube worked on the TV. It's a good thing we only stayed there for one night. Our bad for not reading the reviews before booking it. We didn't want to give such rating but after reading that this apartment was in such state for almost two years we felt the need to warn others.
