We had the Japanese room overlooking the bay. Lovely balcony with amazing views but the room was very dark. Neither mirror in bedroom or bathroom had a light near it so had to sit on the balcony with my compact mirror to put makeup on! I did ask about a mirror light in the bathroom and was told they were waiting for one to arrive from another country!

The location is superb. Lovely views, fabulous food in the restaurant - fine dining quality, staff very attentive. Exclusive use of the Spa was a nice touch although the control panel on the jacuzzi needs replacing. Excellent massage therapist too.

Improved lighting is needed in the bathroom of the "Japanese themed " room that we stayed in.

The staff and the hotel itself was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our 3 week travel from the U.S. We recommend the fabulous breakfast, lunch and dinners at Forza Mare. Zoran, Nicola and Milan (our waiters), were all 5 star individuals!

We had the room next to reception and it was not as quiet as I would have liked/expected with music being played from 8am and general chat from guests. Hotel and restaurant were a tad overpriced in my opinion.

Great location, out of the hustle and bustle of Kotor, but easy to get to. A nice choice of alternative restaurants along the Bay and in walking distance. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good with a good view over the Bay. A reasonable selection at breakfast.

The pride the manager and his team took in the hotel was admirable. Nothing was ever to much and they are a credit to the owner.

A tea tray in the room would be appreciated. We did ask and a kettle and coffee pot was very quickly provided, we had our own tea, coffee etc.

We loved the hotels location, luxury and wonderfully kind and helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious with a huge amount to choose from. We ate in the restaurant one night which was expensive but again food was delicious and the setting was beautiful and so romantic! The photo attached is from the top of the old fort. It's 1350 steps up but the views are incredible. The hotel looks out onto the water front which is about 10 metres away....simply stunning!

At least extra 40 Euro per child per night for 2 years old or older to stay in the same room and bed with parents. A bit expensive for Montenegro. And the bed is very stiff as described by other reviews.

The beds ..or at least the pillows could have been more comfortable Breakfast selection not up to much The real let down was the attitude of the general manager. Our friends complained (twice) about ants in their room. On the day we checked out and they mentioned it again, the manager made excuses and tried the...." if only you had told me before routine". The other gripes one could put down to personal preferences but the presence of insects in an upstairs room was just not on. I told him that we were proposing to have lunch at the hotel and suggested that he could make amends by offering it gratuitously...or throwing in a bottle of wine even. The gesture was completely lost on him and he said he had no authority to accommodate such a request. This frankly left us with a very bitter taste of our experience especially as the hotel is billed as 5 star ! and frequented by the likes of Beyonce and Roberto Cavali...yeh right !. Certainly not worth £300+ a night and the restaurant is absurdly expensive for what they offer

friendliness of the staff...to a man...or woman and very tranquil "vibe" with lovely views of the sea

We booked two rooms; one of which was off the breakfast room on level 1 and the other was off reception on level 2 (literally, the desk was a couple of meters from our door!). If you are a normal to light sleeper you will get very very little sleep, I suggest you book a room on the 3rd/top floor or go to another hotel! I was woken up numerous times every night and morning.

The visit did not start well because we were completely unaware of the almost 90 minute delay at the road crossing from Croatia to Montenegro. The 77 km journey from Cavtat therefore took us almost 4 hours. On the return journey, despite the fact that far fewer cars were crossing back into Croatia, the delay was equally long. Conclusion: beware the Montenegro border police and their deliberate and completely unnecessary blocking of traffic into and out of this small country. This was our first and last visit to Montenegro and, as far as we are concerned, was a waste of our time and money. In our opinion, Montenegro does not compare to Croatia with its beautiful clean sea, fabulous islands, beautiful hotels and friendly people. When we arrived at Forza Mare, we were amazed to find that our EUR 460/night room was immediately by the the reception desk. The reception area itself is less than 15 m2 . We told the receptionist that this was unacceptable. She told us that the other same class rooms were all occupied, 2 of which were on the top floor. Without delay, she offered us a room in their newly opened '5+star' sister hotel, FORZA TERRA a stone's throw away and she called them. She then told us that they had no availability (which the following day, we found to be probably untrue when we stopped by the FORZA TERRA). Eventually, we were offered a Deluxe room on the top floor (inferior to our rate) and we had no choice but to accept it. The hotel is by no means a 5-star hotel. The following will explain why: 1. A staff member called us 'not normal' and threatened to call the police because of our complaints. He started to shout and scream and was extremely rude. 2. The receptionist told us our February booking for mid-July was 'too short-notice' for re-locating us to another room/hotel 3. Ironically, the Deluxe room we were offered appeared to be larger than the EU460 Executive room we had paid for. 4.

Leaving the hotel on Sunday July 16th.

Bed was a bit hard and not super comfortable. WIFI reception could be better through out all areas of the hotel. Finally a small suggestion. An outdoor shower next to the private beach would be really nice since the water in the bay is salty.

Superb small boutique hotel, the staff is super friendly helpful and really makes you feel welcome and special. Location right next to the bay offers a fantastic beautiful views and evenings offers amazing sunsets overlooking the bay and surrounding mountains. The area is very calm and this is truly a perfect hotel for private relaxing vacation. The hotel is very small only 10 rooms but this makes for a lovely cozy atmosphere and the hotel never feels overcrowded. All of the hotel is in immaculate condition. Everything is spotlessly clean and looks like its brand new. Our room was cleaned atleast twice a day. After returning from dinner I noticed that the bathroom had been cleaned once again after the shower I took right before dinner. Both the hotel restaurant and their brand-new sister hotel a few hundred meters down the road offer superb cuisine. We liked this hotel so much that we actually changed our plans and returned for few more days of our vacation in Montenegro and we will definitely return to this wonderful hotel in the future.

Room (Standard - Africa) was very dark and very close to the windows of an adjoining house. It was described as having a side view - only visible as a sliver of sea from the balcony. I didn't feel it represented value for money at over €300 per night. The restaurant food is OK but there are much better options in Kotor. The entire building is very cramped.

Most of the staff was very nice and helpful but I will say that they seemed more reserved and detached than the people of Croatia (where we came there from). Also, it is about an almost hour walk to the old city of Montenegro but I liked being in the quieter area. A cab to the old city is only 4 euro. In general Kotor is pretty, but I liked the little bubble of the hotel more than the city. The people of Kotor in general were cold and aloof I found (not the hotel so much but the general people once out of the hotel bubble).

The property was extremely beautiful and had plenty of great amenities. The food was also great!!! You could put your air conditioning how you wanted it, the rooms were beautifully done and very spacious. The receptionists were kind, helpful, and warm and welcoming. The spa is not huge but very nicely done and upscale. The on-site masseuse was amazing. There is a pool, a private little swimming beach area with beautiful sun chairs right next to the shaded outdoor restaurant, and two jacuzzis! Everything was very well done!

I honestly couldn't fault this hotel.... but if you want to visit the old town Kotor, make sure you go either very early a.m. or after 5pm once the cruise liners aren't visiting as the town is nearly impossible to navigate and enjoy otherwise.

The hotel was immaculate, the service was exceptional, the food cooked perfectly and the location was fantastic. We ate all of our meals in the restaurant, great affordable wines were recommended, the staff were all very helpful, we spent a fabulous 4 days/3 nights and we're definitely going back. We took advantage of the complimentary transfer from Tivat, the hotel is only a 15 minute drive away, we were collected in a luxury vehicle and we arrived in no time at all, we were made extremely welcome. Music was subtle and gave the place a modern vibe. I would definitely recommend this boutique hotel.

Disappointing. We booked our stay at Forza Mare through bookings.com for our honeymoon. On arrival to Kotor we were taken to ‘Forza Terra’ (a new hotel with the same company) by our taxi driver instead of Forza Mare. We went to reception to confirm our reservation was at the correct hotel and the staff just checked us in. We were shown to the room and it was completely different to what we had booked. Again, I went to reception to confirm if it was the correct hotel and was told not to worry and it didn't matter which hotel (they are the same company). Several hours later I was then approached by hotel staff and advised that we were checked into the wrong hotel. Surely this is something that should have been picked up during check-in seeing as we actually had no reservation at this hotel?? We were not allowed to move to Forza Mare to the room we had booked. Our stay then consisted of faulty plumbing in the bathroom, a faulty door lock that remained so throughout our stay (despite staff assuring us that it would be fixed), fire alarms, and novice bar and wait staff. All in all, for a “5 star” hotel, it was quite disappointing. I would not recommend staying with either Forza Terra or Forza Mare.

    The view.

The staff & location & hotel was fab. I would say that having the fitness centre downstairs opposite the cakes with lots of people traffic is not the best idea & also reception bang outside our bedroom was also not a good idea, however they were very considerate & kept the noise down. I would put reception downstairs where the gym is & rethink the gym space. All in all though we had a great stay.

1.No shower on the beach. When we went to spa to take shower after swimming, personal didn't allowed us to come, because we were wet and could wet the floor ! 2.No bidet. 3. Be careful - Deluxe room is small, doesn't has sea view and balcony was ridiculous small, so to put chair there is impossible. There is huge conditioner block just at your tiny balcony. It produces hot, like an oven, so you can't open the door. At night you hear noise from road. 4. Jacuzzi in the spa. Personal didn't allowed to use it with child. When we insisted, they just switched off it at all and said that it doesn't work. 5. WIFI didn't work most of the time. When you complain to personal about it, they just say 'yes, we know it'. 5. The hotel is too far from 5* and it is too overpriced. Feel cheated.

I cannot think of a thing.

The food was delicious and well presented; I even broke my own rule of never ordering the same thing twice from a single restaurant on one trip. But over shadowing all +s was the service staff - they are the best and should be training service staff worldwide.
