Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThings were a little expensive for the area, but I can understand that it costs a lot to maintain such nice facilities.
This place really exceeded my expectations. From the impressive restaurant to the incredible facilities and exceptional staff and entertainment, it really was value for money. The staff really made the effort to help guests and keep them entertained. I particularly enjoyed the Royal Beach sa va? song! Fantastic pools and location on the beach with sun loungers available for guests. Certainly the best and most comfortable hotel on this beach. I would also like to mention Princy, who was very friendly and offered to share his experience about a tropical cyclone that changed his life.

SwitzerlandOur stay at the Royal Beach Hotel was simply perfect. It’s one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at – not just in Madagascar, but overall. What truly stood out was the incredibly warm and attentive staff. From the waiters and gardeners to the animators, housekeeping team, tour guides, and managers – every single interaction was heartwarming. You can really feel the genuine hospitality everywhere. The food was excellent – varied, fresh, and with plenty of healthy options. The large garden is beautiful and clearly cared for with love. We’re usually not fans of hotel animation, but at Royal Beach it was fantastic. There was something for everyone: volleyball, aqua gym, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding – and even a Malagasy language lesson on the beach. We especially appreciated the conversations with the staff and animators, who shared so much about Nosy Be, Madagascar, and their culture. Hearing these stories directly from locals made our stay truly special. The tours were also very well organized, and the guides were just as friendly and welcoming.

IsraelDidn't like small things for this amazing hotel such as transfer which was not included from the airport while they charging a very good rate per night. And when i tried to reach someone i asked for a local call from the front desk and they want to charge us for 1 or 2 euros - i didn't like it because when you pay this kind of amount for the hotel which is not cheap i think you don't need to charge the client for those things
We were a family of 2 + 3 kids (16, 13 & 9 years old) and we have red reviews and booked this hotel for a week It's amazing hotel with wonderful services and facilities. Thanks for the Chef for a great food every day - Breakfast and Dinner which was realy very veery good !!! The thing in the hotel was the crew and specific the Animation crew !!! Thank you Bob for your wonderful program for the all week and we'd like to thanks specific to the amazing Princy ! Judicia ! Jojo and Samira which made our visit more than amazing !!! the kids crazy about them and already miss them thank you Royal Beach Staff we'll come again for sure

Czech Republic- the music played all day/at the occasional parties organized by the hotel is old and has nothing to do with African current artists or even world current/new-ish music artists which was a pity and hard to find a vibe for young/er travelers - the performant singer doing live music performed almost all evening for many hours which seemed as not considerate, unless it was her shift that week only whilst we were there - the hotel is more like a resort where you can expect "all inclusive guests and groups" arriving from Europe - when we arrived, we were told by several staff members that there is only a buffet option to eat in the hotel (slightly expensive if you want to have a simple meal or even to just enjoy fish and seafood when being right by the ocean) and that there is no "a la carte restaurant" - we only discovered that there are in the end a few "a la carte" options much cheaper in the hotel on the last day of our stay - which almost felt that no one wanted our extra money to be spent there because we preferred to go eat out on the beach in other places rather than pay the expensive buffet in the midday or every evening (after all we liked to eat out but sometimes it would have been less of a hassle with cash/planning your day) - the hotel could consider an option to guests who are interested in being more ecologic to not to change room towels every single day
- everything is clean, staff is very friendly and wants to make your stay nice and will make sure of that should you need special requests - the buffet selection of food is good and fine quality - the rooms are cosy, comfortable and clean - clean and good swimming pool - very friendly and helpful staff/managers at the leisure time planning office in the hotel - gym and other pitches / places to do sports available and included in the accommodation price - the beach is literally in front of the hotel and the balcony views and sunsets are amazing

EthiopiaNot enough room supplies such as water and toiloteries. On some days the only option for food is buffet without the option for a la carte.
We liked the professionalism and friendliness of staff and everyone at the hotel including the General Manager. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Excellent rooms and surroundings. Execusions were excellent too.

IrelandThey charge 65€ for airport pickup when all drivers we contacted charge max 25€ so we didnt use the shuttle. Rip off. Dinner for 2 is 60€ which is ripp off. You can have nice dinner with drinks in restaurants on the beach for 30€. Breakfast was horrible, every morning the same. Full of sweets donuts sweet sauces. Also old tiny shower head so washing and rinsing long hair takes ages.
Good location on the beach where is close to nearby beaches. Nice spa and girls working there. Nice room
