Wonderful house. Best in Ohrid. Lovely owner and Maria who helped with everything. It might have been nice to have a kettle to make tea but I think there is one of we ask for it.

It was not particularly easy to communicate directly by phone about the arrival time big wasn’t a problem.

Amazing location and really homely room

A charming mansion hotel in the heart of the old town. The room was clean. The owner was friendly and helpful.

Everything would have been perfect if the rooms had a kettle or at least water.

Avoid this place at all costs. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a property and its host. The host was extremely rude, unprofessional, and after refusing to provide clear instructions for check-in, blocked me on WhatsApp and ignored all my messages via Booking.com. I have video evidence showing the property from outside, and it’s completely unclear how to access it. There is no sign, no entrance, no communication. I was left standing in the street with no way to get in — disgraceful. Booking.com has been useless in solving the issue, despite me calling three times and sending all the evidence: screenshots, videos, and message history. No one cared. This is a scam listing and should be removed immediately. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. I’ve traveled to many countries, and never have I been treated this badly. If you value your time, your money, and your peace of mind: DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY.

No response. No access. No apology. Just stolen money and complete radio silence. To make it worse, they had the audacity to block us on WhatsApp after taking our payment. Let that sink in. We were left stranded without accommodation, no refund, and no explanation. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. Booking.com claims they can’t do anything about it, which is equally pathetic. If this is the kind of fraudulent host they allow on their platform, then trust in this system is completely broken. Avoid this property at all costs. It’s not just bad service – it’s outright theft.

Excellent location, beautiful rooms in traditional style and very kind host!

The staff was excellent and helpful with all of my inquiries. Room had old world charm with great locations.

No on site parking but this has nothing to do with the hotel but the design of the city. Staff was super helpful on finding parking.

Central location, friendly staff.

The walls are very thin and I could hear everything in the other rooms or in the corridor. The bed was also not super comfortable and the windows did not really open, so it was not so easy to let some fresh air in.

Centrally located in the historic part of Ohrid, Villa Jovan is close to the shops, restaurants, promenade, the cathedral of St Sophia... Good Wi-Fi.

The shower room is tiny even for one person - which may be excused by the fact that it is a historic house. However, everything seems to be falling apart and is in need of fixing. Again - because this is an old Ohrid house, the wooden staircase to the second floor may be a problem for some. The large, comfortable double bed is flanked by wooden house support and takes almost all of the space in the room.

A quirky but interesting place. A contortionist would love the bedroom and bathroom. Actually, loved our stay in the most interesting hotel we have ever stayed in.

The stairs needed very careful attention with or without luggage.

Warning to 75+ in years - tough haul to 4th floor with 30 kilo luggage - ask for lower floor

Excellent location and quirky old house. The delux room is wonderful with a little terrace with view of the lake, sunken bath. liked it so much kept extending the stay :)

The mini fridges in the rooms need replacing as they are loud at night.
