How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThanks to the amazing hospitality and everything provided like promised, in the description: speed Wi-Fi, so I could even work at nights, own bathroom, space for the things and etc. The general - use facilities like joint kitchen, ironing board, draining rack are also easy to get and use anytime. The bus stops are very close.
Opposite the house there have been the reparation/building works, so sometimes it was pretty noisy during the night and early - morning hours. However, this was temporary and only lack of here. Highly recommend anyway ☺️

Verified reviewBed comfortable & clean, as was room, although v hot. All tenants very pleasant, however no person on site for help & some had difficulty contacting management.
Desk, but only 2 socket outlets free as 1 was for fan, no AC. Shared bathroom good, but also at 1st floor, separate wc poor, sliding door, no privacy & next to it separate shower flooded floor outside. Clothes washing only offered Mon & Fri €12 delivered next day, cost v high & not flexible. Most people entered property not knowing their room, or given local knowledge of buses, amenities, shops, etc. Fridge full to bursting.

Verified review-It's a residential/family house but repurposed as a short-term stay place. You'll get one of the rooms here, and there are 3 shared toilets and a shared kitchen. Some rooms have private toilets or windows. You technically can check in at any time, as you only need a passcode to enter the house. The host will be present in the morning and afternoon. -The shared toilets are relatively clean and well stocked. -The kitchen has all the necessary equipment : icrowaves, gas stoves, fridge without freezer, cooking equipment and utensils, pots and pans, cups, mugs,.... They also have a small 2x2 outdoor space where you can eat/drink. -The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, with comfortable bedding and blankets. -Breakfast is included every morning from 7:30 to 10:30, monday to sunday. You get 2 toasts, 2 eggs omelet wrapped around ham, corn and cheese. You also have coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, water, banana, apple, crackers, cheese and strawberry jam. They taste amazing, a perfect way to start your day energized with a full belly. - Laundry costs 12 euro per wash. You give them your dirty laundry and they'll return it the next day - Good and stable wifi connection - Location is good. It's a 2-minute walk to Savemart, a budget supermarket. It's also about 20 meters away from the nearest bus stop, with busses that head to Valletta every 15-30 minutes. There's also an Italian restaurant, a donut shop, a fruit shop, a fried chicken place and a pharmacy nearby.
- The surrounding area is a neighborhood built on a steep hill, so it is not a very walkable.

Verified reviewBreakfast was quite good, with a kind lady who prepared eggs just the way you like. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom great shower, with a handy spot outside to hang wet towels and swimsuits. It’s conveniently located near bus stops, a supermarket, and a few restaurants. The area is very residential, which I personally appreciated after the crowded tourist spots in Sliema and Paceville.
The room had no window, so the only way to get fresh air was by leaving the door open. The bathroom also didn’t have a door, and the sink was so small that even just brushing your teeth or washing your face would leave the entire bathroom wet—which never dried due to the lack of ventilation.

Verified reviewThe room didn't have a WINDOW!!! It was like in some small hole, no natural light, no natural ventilation. There was AC, but if you turn on it was cold and with dry air. To have air we should open the door, and to have some normal lights ( because room light was too strong and white), so we didn't have a privacy. If you turn off the lights and close door it is completely dark and with no air. There were more rooms like that, because other lady told us the same. Breakfast was good ( everyday same, but good), and lady who serve it was kind.

Verified reviewThe bus stop is very close, good breakfast, quiet house, comfy bed, value for money.
No shower gel or shampoo in the shower, no shower curtain to prevent water splashing everywhere, the tap of the sink is on the wrong side making inconvenience when washing hands. The light is super bright, one switch only for both lights, toilet and bedroom, so when you go to toilet at night the light awakens you well😕 also no night curtain on the window which was annoying. No doors for the bathroom. Some rooms have no windows. Paid extra for private parking, never was offered with one, parked on the street. A washing machine is available only on Mondays for a fee. You must wash and dry your dishes yourself after you're done. (They can't afford a dishwasher or what)

Verified reviewBreakfast was simple but nice, with various items available. Location was urban on the edge of Sliema. Easy access to the coast. There are many buses nearby for access to the rest of Malta. The main host was a nice lady.
The room provided, room 7, was a box room and a bit stifling. There was air-conditioning but without a window it felt a bit oppressive.
