Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe facilities are basic but this is expected for the price. We would come back again.
There is parking so its great if you are renting a car. If you prefer being in spacious areas, there are fields around so its quiet and peaceful. There is a pool. Breakfast was the same everyday but tasty- boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bread, ham/meat products, tomatoes, cornflakes, milk , jams, cake, tea, coffee, juice. Bed was comfortable and we had a private bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful.

MaltaThe facilities are somewhat run down (eg my TV didn't work) and the beautiful extensive gardens would benefit from some loving care. Although there is a kettle, no coffee or tea is provided.

United KingdomThe rude dominant guests who tried to take over! But not a lot we can always do about that. The fact you could hear other guests as noise carries unfortunately, take earplugs.
I think it's fair to say that Grace and Maria are the heart and soul of White Star guest house...💛✨💛 They are both such lovely ladies that work incredibly hard, from organising and serving breakfast each morning always with huge smiles checking people in, and of course cleaning the rooms and looking after the guests in general. They really made my 2 week stay 🤍 My room had everything I needed and was clean, and if I ever needed anything all I had to do was ask 😁 I loved the property and location, it was good value and amongst nature, everything else was a walk or bus ride away. Although the buses could get super packed at peak time's! There are a couple of great restaurants Ta'Cassia Salina Restaurant very close by, along with a great bar Ta'Nardi and a fantastic small but sells most thing's called Salina Convenience Store and a beautiful little beach, nature reserve all a few minutes away. Search and you shall find instead of looking for the negatives! I loved the cat's, cockerels, doves that all lived happily alongside each other. The fresh orange's from the tree's every day 🍊It was for the most part peaceful apart from some noisy dominant families who took over who had no respect for other people, luckily they were not there long! Robby the owner was helpful and supportive over this matter. I would definitely stay again and hope to see everyone again soonish 😊

GermanyAccess to the washing machine is too complicated. Its not about the price that it cost extra, but about the fact you can not when you need it, you need to wait untill the staf brings you the cabel and it takes tooo much time. Another thing is that you need to ask for a blanket. This is the first time I paid to sleep in a hotel that didnt have a blanket at the bed or neither anywhere insise the room, I had to ask the staff for it. It should be a metter of common scence to have a blanket at the bed in every room in a hotel…
I like the peacefull atmosphere.

United KingdomOverall, it was definitely value for money and although a bit 'tired' in places, we really appreciated the quirky nature of the property. The details on Booking.com about this property are quite confusing and would benefit from more clarity.
The location really suited us. We stayed in room 6 which had a beautiful far-reaching view over fields. The beds were extremely comfortable and we really appreciated having a mini fridge in our room. The shower was excellent.

GermanyThe listing mentioned two pools—one indoor and one outdoor. Unfortunately, the indoor pool was closed for maintenance during our stay, and the outdoor pool could use more frequent cleaning. The parking area is quite small, making it difficult to find a spot if you return late at night; we had to park awkwardly a few times because it was full. The breakfast was the same every day with very limited options and little variety. The room wasn’t dirty, but it felt a bit outdated, and the bathroom could benefit from some renovation. Additionally, the small fridge in the room didn’t work, which was disappointing. The mattresses were soft, which might not suit everyone’s preference, but that’s a personal choice.
The location is peaceful, away from the busy city center, which I really appreciated. However, if you don’t have a car, it can be a bit boring and challenging to rely on public transportation. That said, since I mainly used the place just for sleeping, the quiet environment was perfect for me. As far as I could tell, there seemed to be only one restaurant within walking distance, but I wasn’t there. I must also mention that the staff, especially the lady, was incredibly hardworking and very respectful I forgot her name.
