Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AlbaniaThe location is just too windy. We didnt use the pool, and the sea is full of algae. On the beach it was windy non-stop. This is not the resort's fault, it is just the location.
The food is good, people friendly. The room was big, not much of a view but ok. The place is 40 minutes from Mon Choisy Public Beach and Trou aux Biches. We ended up going to the public beaches, the experience there was great!

South AfricaThe room arrangement has ended up with a very small toilet which was a bit claustrophobic with the door closed. Refilling of the tea, coffe and sugar tray was extremely inconsistent, Even though there are water foundtains outside the rooms, I was surprised nevertheless not to be supplied with bottled water. Although the cost was not exorbitant, I was annoyed with having to pay for tea/coffee after dinner despite being booked for breakfast and dinner, As is common at the moment, many Mauritian Hotels have had an influx of new staff who are not yet providing service at the exceptional pre-Covid standards, One example is that, rather than charge my credit card at the beginning, I was surprised to get a letter halfway through my stay asking me to bring my credit below their credit limit (about which I knew nothing),
Beautifil beach, Fantastic central pool that is kept crystal clean. The welcoming vista is quite something...wooden walkway over the moat-like natural lake and then into the reception overlooking the wonderful pool and then the beach just beyond that, The Indian themed evening buffet in particular really was exquisite. There are a coiple of very warm and attentive staff at breakfast who made the meal so enjoyable. THe airconditioning was very effective.

FranceSome of the rooms are in need of renovation and the general cleaning could be improved. Service in the general dining area, where breakfast is served, needs some improvement. The wait time to be seated and to be served a hot drink is too long. Most of the staff were seen clearing tables.
The gardens, in general, the outside areas were beautiful and well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff.

LebanonStaff need upskilling when it comes to basic coffee making. It was almost impossible to have an actual cappuccino at the hotel. Also when cleaning the rooms the staff should pay attention to close all doors and windows to avoid any insects and reptiles inside the room. I instructed them several times to keep all doors and windows closed but they did not fully comply
The hotel's beachfront is one of the nicest in Mauritius, although it was rainy season it turned out it doesn't rain much at the hotel's location. The hotel provides some really nice complementary services such as glass-bottom boat ride, snorkeling, etc... Restaurants were really good with a wide variety of international cuisines.

United KingdomThe property was a little tired, with holes in the wall that hadn’t been patched up and a missing drying line in the room etc. We only stayed here for one night but that gave us the opportunity to compare to other hotels and found that Sofitel lacked attention to detail and consideration of guests - e.g. no bottles of water in the room and mini bar unstocked. Also, we were shown to a waiting area as we were early for check in and there was a family that looked like they’d been in there a while - tea and coffee facilities were completely used up and there was a diaper in the bin so it looks like no one had been in to check in on them, or us. Hotel lacked atmosphere and it was largely an elderly crowd staying there. I would say the value for money was lacking and that you’d get better value for money at the other hotels around it.
The staff were friendly and we received a very lovely welcome with drinks made for us as we waited to check in, which set the tone for the holiday. The property was large with two swimming pools and plenty of beach beds, lovely access to a large beachfront area. The bed in the room was very comfy and we had an excellent sleep on our first night after a long journey to get there. Dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant was good and had plenty of choice.

IndiaThe only nit pick i have is their rule of being dressed in full trousers for dinner at their restaurants. Had invited people over for dinner, who turned up in shorts given its a beach resort and we ended up having to drive 5 kms away as the resort wont let them in. At least one of the restaurants could be flexible .
Gorgeous property with its own private beach with sunsets to die for. Friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, activities for kids and a super breakfast. Met all of our expectations.

UkraineVery nice location on Fin En Flac with a great beach. The see may be a little bit shallow but it still great and warm to swim. We especially enjoyed beds in the Manifique room the pillows and bedding are so soft and comfy. The kitchen and cuisine are marvelous and absolutely delicious. Be sure to try all watersport activities like kayaking, snorkeling etc. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful.

Saudi ArabiaStaff in the restaurant, especially at dinner time, don’t care about clearing plates. We had to do it ourselves, although there was sufficient staff around. A lot of birds flying around and picking on food. At check out, they did not even bother asking how our stay was etc. Old and outdated furniture in the room. Non of the pools are heated in October.
