Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe buffet breakfast was a bit boring. They could provide a better selection of fruit and provide pots of coffee. The water in the sea was slightly murky, but that could be because it's at the mouth of a river. We didn't have a car and felt a bit isolated. We took a hotel taxi to a town 10 minutes drive away, and he charged us appropriately €50 return, which was shockingly expensive. Definitely hire a car if you're planning on travelling around the island. We were on B&B rate but ate lunch and dinner there most days. This worked out very expensive in the hotel as there are not many local independent restaurants in Balaclava, which we could have visited instead.
Rooms were spacious and well equipped. The grounds were very pretty and well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Evening entertainment was good. The pools were perfect as there was a large shallow pool, which was nice and quiet. It's especially great for kids who can't yet swim. There was also a shallow, covered section of this pool for babies and toddlers. Good selection of free water activities like kayaking and SUP etc.

United KingdomSome staff need to be trained better i.e., by training to show hospitality they tend to be super slow in explaining and it gets frustrating so next time appreciate less bikering get straight to the point and move on. The wash room were a challenge as well! didn’t like it all!!!
Big room and some waiters were very nice

SlovakiaWe did not like loud and smelly maintenance work
Room in loft style surprised us positively and as well the large size. We loved garden of the resort and how silent environment was even though number of guests. We very much welcomed variety of restaurants offered within the rate and excellent food. We liked water sports equipment was included as well. Guests don’t need to worry about caring cash as all was paid on the room.can feel secure within the resort.

South AfricaWe selected this property because we were under the impression that the family suite has a 'separate living space' for the children and we would be able to close the sliding door between the bedroom and lounge area serving as the childrens' bedroom to enjoy privacy at night. In reality, however, there are massive gaps in the wall between the two 'rooms' with light and sound shared as if it was one open plan room. This was a major inconvenience and should serve as a warning to prospective guests wanting a sleeping area for the kids separate from the parents'. We also experienced issues with the aircon leaking, but it was eventually attended to after mentioning the issue in the 'first impressions' feedback solicited by the resort. Finally, we found the options available on the 'all inclusive' plan limited (eg no fresh fruit juice).
The resort has great access to the beach where we were able to get available deck chairs without any hassles. There is a nice childrens' play area with jungle gym etc and the restaurants serve quality food. We were able to get restaurant bookings for every night of our stay from day 3. The staff are excellent and went out of their way to address issues that we encountered during our stay.

United Kingdomprefer a bigger beach front and more explanation of how the restaurants work.
Although there is an inclusive option they maintain high standards and don’t sacrifice quality over quantity. There are 3 bars, one on the beach, one by the pool and another lounge type bar. There is a strong commitment to sustainable/ eco friendly practice. Even the key cards are made from bamboo. The gardens are very tropical feeling.

GermanyThe hotel is a bit old. While the outside area is really beautiful, depending on which room one gets there can be quite significant deterioration, especially in the bathrooms.
We had mostly a great time in the hotel. It is a great place for families with multiple great pools and a nice beach without stones. There are games and swim utensils to get for free, Kayak, Pedal Boat and more. The restaurants are good with the Horizon being our favorite. The staff overall is stellar and always attentative and nice and friendly. We had an initial prepared booking for the different restaurants already so we could try all of them and were also able to shuffle some bookings around. Restaurant booking should be your priority though after arrival to ensure you get what you want as the spots fill up quickly. We had a rental car and the hotel is located very nicely in the upper part of the island making it easy to visit all northern sights quickly.

RomaniaHuge, impersonal resort. You can have your room 400 m away from the reception and 500 m away from the beach. Small beach close to the mouth of a river. Translation: water is muddy and dirty. Although the beach itself is nice, I had the worst water experience in Mauritius.
Best breakfast and dinner options. Really big rooms.

Czech RepublicNothing less, despite the criticism, I must say that the price-quality ratio is excellent. We had an allinclusive, it is worth buying it. disappointment of the room Mould on lamp- staff sorted it out Poorly cleaned bathroom- staff resolved Uncomfortable mattress- my back hurt- room 1126 Toilet smell next to the Bistrot restaurant by the elevator-all the time Ugly beach, sea. Right next to the beach a brown river flows in and the beach suffers a lot. The photos of the beach and the colour of the sea absolutely do not match the photos from the hotel- disappointing.
excellent staff excellent pools and environment excellent food and drink without exception Nothing less, despite the criticism, I must say that the price-quality ratio is excellent. We had an allinclusive, it is worth buying it.

AustraliaThe room had a very musty smell to it & is a little outdated for the price, but it is still nice. Limited parking at times
The service, food, cocktails & all around service were great. If you're only staying for a few days, I would recommend seeing if you can call & book a restaurant you want in advance. We didn't get to eat at preferred restaurants as by the time we checked in & went to book they were 'booked out'

RomaniaUnfortunately the cleanliness was not very good 8/10. And also the river near the hotel when it rains it creates a dark/dirty water. .
The resort is beautiful. The staff was very kind and very polite. Acash - hello :) The towels were at the beach, the sunbeds - very good. The room is big. A lot of food at the restaurants. Recommend the Italian restaurant :) A lot of activities at the hotel.

MalaysiaThe rooms were not that well-stocked and we had to request for basic items like hair conditioner and body lotion, the latter of which they did not end up providing after having us wait for quite some time following our initial request. Coffee, tea, sugar and corkscrews also had to be self-obtained from the lobby area. The staff also could be better trained as we had to be constantly passed on to senior staff for basic questions like corkage rates.
We came here for our honeymoon and the management surprised us by offering us a candle lit dinner by the beach on our first night there. It was a three course fine dining meal and the food was delicious, from the starters all the way to their desserts. Overall, the hotel was better than most, if not all, of the four star hotels we've stayed at. The rooms were large and spacious and the facilities were all well-maintained even though the hotel has been around for awhile. There was a lot of variety for breakfast, from international to local Mauritian food. We enjoyed kayaking up the river and paddle boarding in the sea, which was open and calm and the beach also had plenty of beach chairs for sunbathing. The hotel was also located less than half an hour from Port Louis and Grand Baie and is a great base to explore the North, but make sure you have a car. Great hotel!

Romaniawe couldn’t eat at other restaurants in the resort, they were closed. because of the river nearby the resort, the water is with mud. no clear water! The play ground was clised most of our journey… We’ve got gastro-enterocolita because of the water that they gave us to drink.

United KingdomBathrooms were poorly fitted, dirty and shower smelt of damp. Grout and tile didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while. Had a few gecko & insect visitors. Bedsheets were also stained on two occasions we had to ask housekeeping to change them after the room had been ‘cleaned’. The food at the main buffet was ok (saved by the fresh egg stand) and limited for breakfast and dinner. Except for the Indian/ Mauritian food which was fantastic but if you don’t like it there isn’t much else. The main part of the hotel is quite small and feels a little cramped - if you’re planning to be out and about in the day then this isn’t a big deal. Pool isn’t enticing at all but nice to look at and feels more like a water feature as opposed to an actual swimming pool.
The size of the rooms were great and the individual restaurants had amazing food (stayed half board and ate at Kot Nou, Atavola & Ming). The lobby was lovely and the use of free drinking water fountains with water bottles was good (deposit for bottle required but returned upon checking out when you return the bottle). Staff were lovely. Great range of water sports and activities

SwedenThe hotels are isolated so you need to take a taxi to get to the store where you can buy supplies such as headache tablets, OB, withdraw money, snacks. Some can be solved by walking the beach to other hotels. You withdraw money at the reception and it becomes costly. If you go with your family, keep in mind that the animal keeping on Mauritius is cruel. Puppies and kittens are dumped and mistreated. Animals are mistreated and you see this everywhere along the roads and in the communities.
Nice hotel / resort for families as there are several pools, beachfront, play area for children, beach / water activities, tennis, gym are included in the hotel cost. Large area belonging to the hotel and nearby hotels where you can also use other activity opportunities. The hotel has dogs that they sterilize, vaccinate and give food. Wish more hotels could make this effort so much credit for the effort they are making. Nice resort for families. We had a great stay with memorable excursions and relaxation. Wouldn't have gone here if I didn't have kids, though. Some of the staff raised the experience, especially Mozahir and a + that the hotel provides food and shelter" to straydogs.
