Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo complaints. Our room was spacious and had its own private patio which was beautifully landscaped and quiet. We enjoyed coffee on the patio every morning and, surprisingly, couldn't hear any of the hustle and bustle of the city. I highly recommend the Superior Junior Suite.
The hotel is phenomenal, the staff is personable, helpful, and friendly, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is perfect. We didn't have any complaints. The hotel is pet friendly. I took one of my dogs and the staff pampered her with dog beds, food and water bowls, and bottled water. Every detail was attended to. The vehicle that picked us up at the airport even had what looked like a brand dog bed waiting for her after the long flight. I especially liked the large soaking tub and bath balls. San Miguel de Allende is a walking city so, a long soak was a perfect way to end each day.

United Arab Emiratesthe spa could have more facilities if I really need to find an area of improvement
The staff is so helpful, friendly and accommodating. simply the best! The facilities and rooms are so beautiful and unique, just as you would expect a Belmond hotel to be. The food is great, and the activities proposed are very fun & interesting! I would really advise you to do the cooking class with Raul and mojigangas painting with Hermes. The massages as well are best in class! do not miss trying them out! We loved every single moment whilst staying here!

United States of AmericaWe had ordered two queen beds from booking.com and got two singles, which were a little too firm. This started our trip off with a bit of disgruntlement, and the statement that this was a "preference" when we booked it was a little off putting and we were not as comfortable as I think we would be with the roomier beds (and perhaps more comfortable mattresses but I can't say since we hadn't tried the other mattresses).
We loved the welcome lavender towel, signature cocktail and guacamole with fresh chips. Drinks were excellent when we returned on a different day. We ordered the guacamole again--the chips this time were not as fresh this time, but the guac was excellent. The service/staff are top notch. We enjoyed the coffee and pan dulce in the AM. It was very good and delivered right outside our room where we could enjoy the outdoors very privately in the courtyard. We loved out 16th century doors and the ambiance of our room.

BrazilRestaurante del Parque is below the hotel's standard, perhaps in need of a renovation in furniture and menu. The Restaurant Andanza is great!
All the staff very kind and helpful. Several charming details that are the differential of the Belmond brand that enchant and retain guests.

United States of Americait was superb.
extraordinary service with exceptional staff. remarkable historic property of haciendas sympathetically remodeled into rooms. definitely request room with terrace or rooftop patio for lunches Al fresco. lovely pool area. central location near pedestrian streets for easy access to site. get the Walk and Shop guidebook for suggested walks. the Bibliotheca Publica has a neat shop, English language books, and theatre/concert tickets. the Sazon cooking class was fun and educational. the spa was excellent and reasonable. the concierge service was extraordinary. breakfast included lots of choices. such a festive atmosphere at Christmas. daytime temp in 70s but nights at 40. dress in layers. good solid walking shoes required for narrow sidewalks and cobblestone streets. pedestrianized streets a plus in Centro. the architecture/history tour very worthwhile. very pleased that San Miguel had high standard of health and safety. masks almost universal, disinfectant floor mats at entry, temperature checks. Better than the USA.

The Belmond Hotel is top of the line. I will highly recommend it to friends and family. First trip to San Miguel de Allende, but not the last, and the Belmond is the only hotel I would even consider.

United States of AmericaWe had a wonderful stay at the Belmond property during our first visit to SMA. It is a stunning hotel with beauty at every single corner. We especially loved the garden pool. The location is so convenient for restaurants and sightseeing. The staff was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. We felt very safe and appreciated the covid precautions. So glad we could stay here!!! We will be back.
