Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesA bit hard to find without a sign on the street. I booked last minute and there was some mix up about which room but they figured it out and communicated well with me. The towels were a bit worn but sheets clean and nice.
Very clean and enjoyable rooftop deck. Once inside it is quite nice, the outside doesn’t have a sign and is just a gate so was a little disconcerting until you go in, then very different, nice and cute. The room is basic but comfortable and clean. For a place in the center of town it was nice. I would return.

United StatesThe front has no markings to identify it. And someone will need to be available to open the door until you get you keys. Balcony looks nice, unfurnished, and was locked for my stay. I was the only person staying, and would have hoped for a more social gathering. There are coffee pots put out, but no coffee.
The AC is most welcomed after a day spent absorbing Zihua. The rooftop is a nice space in the morning and evenings and would ideal for guests to gather and mingle.

United StatesI received instructions at 7pm the night prior to us leaving. It would have been nice getting those the day we arrived or sooner. Not the hotels fault at all but one night sewage smell was intolerable. It would have been nice to have a small safe in the room.
We felt very safe for being downtown. The facility was very clean and having a shared kitchen was nice. The staff was incredibly friendly I only felt bad because my Spanish is not great; she was so pleasant and had a beautiful smile.

CanadaThe common areas seemed to only be cleaned when someone checked out and then not very thoroughly. The cleaning person/manager was not friendly and had obviously been directed to be very restrictive with supplies so for a price more than most hotels no toilet paper or new towels until you stay a week. She was also quite happy to watch me mop the common area although I didn't see any mop except that belonging to cleaning lady so maybe I supposed to bring that along with my toilet paper. Clearly penny-pinching leaving a overall bad flavor in the mouth.
Upbeat colors and nice patio for socialising. Good locstion

CanadaAbsolutely terrible experience. They canceled my reservation and said they had sent me an email that I had to follow in order not get charged the penalty. Said email was taking to a landing page that indicated that I was going to be charged a penalty; when I followed the waive penalty options the hotel has been unresponsive. At this point I have not been refunded for anything whatsoever and they have stopped answering my messages. I have now escalated this to booking customer service. This is such a shame and a bad look for such a beautiful place like this and for the Mexican culture and service that is often amazing. I would not recommend this place.

United StatesThe location had some sewage smell from the sewage lagoon or treatment facility that must not have been too far away.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Marta was a lovely lady that took care of our needs and did a fine job of cleaning.

CanadaI think it ought to be advertised as Hotel Mandarina, rather than amazing private rooms. When someone asked if I was looking for the Hotel Mandarina, I didn’t know how to answer. Also, I checked in around 9 pm. It was dark. Because it only has 3 rooms, it was dark. Because of its size there is no specific reception. I felt a bit lost. Although there was excellent communication and instructions prior to check-in, I think I arrived earlier than the host may have expected. Because I was not on wifi and didn’t have a Mexican phone, I asked a man to call the telephone number on the booking sheet. It did work and someone came down to give me the keys.
It was spotless. The common areas (living room, kitchen and upstairs balcony) was great. Excellent wifi. The facilities in the kitchen were 100%

United KingdomEverything was great.
Location was brilliant, rooms were basic but had everything needed. WiFi was the best I have had in Mexico and the room had a massive TV. Kitchen was well appointed and the rooftop space was a great bonus.
