Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNothing we did not like. There was a minor inconvenience of the upstairs shower and sink not running for about an hour.
Wonderful, friendly, and communicative staff, delicious breakfast, very clean rooms in a safe neighborhood. We will be staying again soon!

CanadaIt's a bit of an older building and the toilet had some issues refilling but the staff was helpful to check the situation. It would be great to have option of breakfast available on the same day, you have to decide and order the night before. We wanted to stay longer but our room was not available, understand that it was booked as it's really such a nice place!
Beautiful place to stay in quiet neighborhood not far to drive to city center. Very clean and comfortable rooms and the staff was very friendly.

Exceptional B&B in quiet neighborhood away from the noisy Centro but still close enough to walk or take a quick taxi. Sheny (owner/manager) and her staff were outstanding. Sheny is ultra professional and runs a very clean, efficient operation. Breakfast is different, substantial and delicious every day. After several vacations where I ended up in a noisy hotel and/or on a noisy street, I appreciated the quiet beautiful house with many gorgeous local artisan craft items through-out. It is about a 40 minute flat walk to Il Centro which was perfect for me since I enjoy stretching my legs and getting my steps. Parking is plentiful and no issue for those with their own cars. For those wanting to walk out of their hotel directly into the action, this may not be the place for them. But those wanting a little separation from the tourist epicenter, this is ideal. Taxis will get you to Il Centro in 10 minutes and costs about $5-7 US.

AustraliaA little farther out of the centre than we would have liked, but getting taxis was easy and relatively inexpensive (about $100).
Sheny was a wonderful host (nothing was too much trouble!). The room was nicely furnished, spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. If you're looking for great things to do, check out the Mezcal & Mole Tasting experience (mezcalymoles.com) which is just a short walk from Casa Mayo.

Very nice and clean home in a quiet neighborhood. The room was large with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and they changed times to accommodate our travel schedule. There was a gated area to park. Our dog was well treated.

Cozy room and homey vibe. yummy breakfast and friendly staff. pretty garden. daily room cleaning and coffee/water/juice avail at no additional cost. My go-to accommodation when in Oaxaca. Last time was in April and I love how with breakfast, the host remembered I don’t like papaya. talk about attention to detail! ✨ Also Omero is the cutest, friendliest dog!

United StatesNot a problem at all, but it would have been nice to have the bathroom in our room. It was a private bathroom just for us right next door to our room on the ground floor.
The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The location was great - quiet, and easy to reach Oaxaca City by bus. The bus stop was only a few blocks away. Sheny sent someone to pick us up from the airport and he took us on a mini-tour of the city on our way to Casa Mayo.

New ZealandWe had a wonderful stay at Casa Mayo and had the option to upgrade to their biggest room, which was beautiful and incredibly spacious with a private bathroom! The bed was so comfortable and while the shower pressure was on the low side, there was good hot water. It was also great to stay in a quieter neighbourhood, that is not too far from central (10 min by taxi) Sheny was friendly and very helpful with our questions, organising taxis and suggesting things to do - even left us hats for a day trip :) We will miss Casa Mayo a lot!

MexicoIt's far from the centre, they say it's pet friendly, but you cannot leave your pet alone in the room and you pay 200 pesos extra for a pet, and this is not stated anywhere, they tell you after you do the check in.

BrazilThe listing described the bathroom as private, but that wasn’t entirely accurate. You actually need to leave your room, walk into a common area, and then access the bathroom. This setup doesn’t feel very private. Only one room is truly an ensuite. For the rest, you either share a bathroom or need to step outside your room to reach it. Another major issue was the hot water. During our entire 5-day stay, we only had 6 minutes of heated water per shower. Although the staff mentioned that a plumber was looking into it, the problem was never resolved. The breakfast was also disappointing and not worth including in your booking. Staying in Oaxaca is all about enjoying the incredible local food scene, so I’d recommend skipping the breakfast package. ,We were given whatever was on the day’s menu without any options, and as foreigners i felt the dishes were often overly spiced. The installations are also disappointing. While the building is old, it’s not the charming or stylish kind of old—it’s just poorly maintained. The entire space could benefit from updates and better care. Overall, I don’t recommend staying here. The experience doesn’t justify the high price.
The house was clean and the staff is very friendly.
