How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Off bumpy dirt road

Verified reviewThe place is pretty but I must say it has misleading advertising. It is NOT hotel it’s an AIRBNB. We wanted a hotel with full services for our last 2 nights in Baja, I even put the filter of hotel on booking. There’s no staff, only the cleaners/cooks in the morning and a guy that takes care of the place at night. 2 days before our arrival we got a message saying “as you know we have a virtual front desk, and instructions for self check in” there is not actual front desk, in their listing they say they have a 24 hour front desk, they never mention the virtual part. It’s also very far away from the beach and the town so you need to go to the grocery store to make sure you have essentials, they do offer water and beer and some snacks in the communal kitchen. For breakfast they only have one dish so if you have any allergies or food restrictions good luck. I particularly don’t do Airbnb traveling anymore as I like the comfort of having services like a restaurant, good coffee, a proper front desk, and all the little amenities luxury boutique hotels have. The soaps in the rooms were airbnb like and had different colors from all the different brands they have used and it smelled rancid. This place was our most expensive stay in all of Baja and it was a AIRBNB with very misleading advertising. If that’s your kind of travel then the place is nice, but I felt scammed nowhere in the description in describes what it really is. Their motto is “design is everything” and I don’t agree location and services are very high on my list. Not worth what we paid to be honest.

Even though there was water in a jug...bottle water would have been helpful besides sparkling water...lack of glasses in the room and the rosemary in the water was not necessary...

Verified reviewThe breakfasts were lovely, offering the basic fruit yogurt, granola but also great Mexican breakfasts that were different each of our 5 days stay. The location in a residential neighborhood with desert natural vegetation was especially enjoyable. Views of a mountain range and the sounds of the ocean waves on the beach were very relaxing. The bed and linens were great. With stand alone pavilions the rooms are wonderfully quiet. The pool and lounging beds were great features. The overall design aspects and desert surroundings were what made this stay so special.
Wish there had been a comfortable love seat or arm chairs in the room. It had only one uncomfortable chair. Towel bars instead of hooks would be nice.

Verified reviewThe pool and common areas are delightful, serene, and thoughtful. The Casa Santos location is ideal to explore Todos Santos and the greater Baja area. The nearby empty beaches with miles and miles of surf breaks, turtle refuge sites, and the great Green Room are beautiful. We definitely want to go back.

Verified reviewThe architecture and design are absolutely stunning, it's a delight if you like modern and minimalist styles. The sunset looks amazing from the pool and the breakfast is so delicious, all organic and fresh.
The pool is so cold, and it's a shame because it´s beautiful. The door to enter the facility is not easy to open, definitely need to improve on that.
