The one black mark goes to one individual member of the management team. We had 2 nights there and on our 2nd night I sustained a small injury which was unfortunate but also clearly & totally the resort's responsibility. It killed our 2nd night (for which we had paid a lot of money) but the support from the various members of staff in the immediate aftermath, esp the fantastic onsite doctor, was absolutely first rate- thank you once again to all of you! Unfortunately, the one member of junior management we had to speak to the next day dealt with the situation in very very poor fashion & with a total lack of class. It was incredibly disappointing & soured our experience quite considerably but this person was young & undoubtedly inexperienced in such situations & I hope/believe they learnt a lot from it. Thankfully this person's direct superior, Miguel, stepped in and it was a different story- absolutely first rate customer service from a very busy guy :) Thank you Miguel- your staff are amazing & you upheld the values that they uphold for this amazing resort every day, I appreciate & thank you all.

Before going we were sceptical of all the glowing reviews but, seriously, absolutely everything is on the highest level- our room was very comfortable & spacious- a perk of booking here we understand! ;), the facilities are luxurious, very well planned & maintained, the food isn't on the absolute highest level but still excellent (esp the breakfast), the direct contact staff are all amazing: always super friendly & helpful, and we met so many cool cool people among the other guests. Highly recommend.

We didn’t like the outdated music and the basic room’s which are lacking the design. Also, there is no beach at this hotel; it has a direct entrance into the water.

Great service, amazing staff. We liked the pool games, it was incredible. The food exceeded our expectations. But on top of that we liked the vibe and meeting people!

Everything was excellent.

Plenty of options available and the quality of the food was great, fruit, cold bar, hot food, and juice available all the time. If you arrive almost at the end of the breakfast serving time the food will be still fresh and you will not see only "leftovers" on the pots.

this isnt an average resort and we were surprised to find it on booking. If you dont know about desire, inform yourself first ;-) Great people, staff, food... loved it.

Parts of the room felt somewhat old but only was in the room to sleep and get ready anyway!

The staff are exceptional, food was better than decent (what we’ve experienced at other places in the past) and other guests were super friendly and fun! If you’re questioning it, stay here - you will have a great time!

The resort is 4 stars but it lacks the quality of a 4-star hotel, the garden rooms are small, the furniture very basic, the beach has lots of seaweeds although the resort is cleaning every day. We also stayed at the Riviera Maya Peral which is much more upscale with top quality and service. There is more life-style activity at the Riviera Maya than at the Pearl, but beach, accommodation, beach and resort we liked much more. Given that the price is almost the same at Riviera Maya compared to Riviera Maya Pearl, you get much more for your money at the Pearl.

Resort is cozy and not so big, nice garden, very good atmosphere with people, quiet area along the beach far from the noise of the pool. Nice views from the jacuzzi on the roof top. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Absurdly priced. Very mediocre resort with mediocre rooms. They couldn't even arrange a toothpaste kit. Cocktails and bar beverages are just average. 90% couples are above the age of 45-60 years which kills all "desire" for young couples opting to stay here. Our stay was a complete disaster and a waste of money here. Had to book an emergency trip to Tulum to make use of the day. DULL vibe, DULL Playmakers. NO Music or vibes of energy felt in the resort. Nightclub was ok, but the AC cooling was set to extreme. Very mediocre arrangement of night activities. Worst and dirtiest beach I've been to in Mexico is located in this resort. Glitchy wifi connection.

The way you had to tip the staff for everything they do for you. We never got the same member of staff help us twice? Is this because we didn’t tip ? We noticed that if you tipped the pool staff you would get the best sunloungers? If you didn’t tip you didn’t get noticed at all .

Food was good & drinks but unless you tipped all the staff you didn’t get noticed. Beds by the pool were only reserved every day if you were American & tipped the pool staff. On one day there was no Aircondintioning & the rooms & reststurants were unbearable. We were also in a room at the far back of the complex where during the day building works were happening as the hotel is expanding. We were not told about this , very dissatisfied.

The lady setting in the reception responsible for time share and membership presentation is extremely annoying with very intolerable way to push you to listen to her presentation even if you said no you are not interested, she does not give up and keeps chasing you personally and by phone to listen to her presentation which is a nightmare The prices of the massage are extremely expensive. If the resort tries low reasonable prices for a week for example as a test, I think they will get large number of reservations Many many swimming pool and sea chairs and beds are reserved for members The food variety and taste are not good like before The prices in the mini market are extremely expensive
