The hotel and staff were excellent. The relaxed, secluded environment was perfect for anyone wanting to get away.

There are stairs, but worth it.

The staff was outstanding and very helpful. The location is very private and a wonderful boutique hotel.

A lot of stairs, but worth it.

Initially, I was nervous to book because the hotel is new and didn’t have many reviews. So pleased. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with nine unique rooms. The Neptuno room had a wonderful view of the pool and the ocean, and a large bathroom with two separate sinks. The hotel is a five minute walk down a hill to the beach. The pool was a perfect escape from the heat, the staff was so kind, homemade jams and breads served every morning, and major ocean views. As a solo traveler the staff took care of me and made sure I felt comfortable. I had the chance to use a day pass at the 5-star resort that is a block away, and the experience was totally unimpressive in comparison. Slow service, dirty pool, waiters trying to steal your change…no thanks. Corny, but I can say that Ensueño lives up to its name. It’s luxurious, but not a big hotel with resort vibes, a gym and all that…it’s truly a special place.

I wish breakfast was included in the price because it was a little expensive as an extra. Also hope they add lunch or dinner soon.

    Property response:

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We completely understand that booking a new hotel with few reviews can feel like a risk and we’re truly grateful you chose to stay with us. It means a lot to know you enjoyed every detail from the Neptuno room and the pool to the homemade breakfast and the kindness of our team. Your comment about how we cared for you as a solo traveler is especially appreciated. We’re happy we could offer you an authentic experience far from the impersonal feel of large resorts and that Ensueño truly lived up to its name for you. You will always be welcome here. Thank you again for your trust. Warm regards

Beautiful hotel, pool and room. Super convenient location, easy walk to the beach.

Clarify with the owner if transportation to and from airport is included. It was a surprise for him that it was listed on the booking, and it ended up being quite a big rigmarole to arrange and made worse by our flight being late. It ended up fine, but we paid for the taxis ourselves.

    Property response:

Good afternoon, thank you for your comment on the booking platform, but I'll allow myself to make one of my own. I took the time to pick you up at the airport, and your flight was shown on the screen as having arrived, so I can provide it. I waited 30 minutes in vain. You were supposed to bring your surfboard the day before your departure, and it never arrived. It left 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time. Good afternoon.

I like the intimacy of this place. It is small and cozy and real close, a short walk, to La Ropa beach. The staff is attentive and well trained and eager to make sure the stay is comfortable. It only has nine rooms which makes it a bit more cozy. They do allow small dogs so I also appreciated that accommodation. Everything was clean and we had a decent view. Bryan at the front desk was especially attentive and helpful. The owner was also very nice and helpful and accommodated our needs well. Enjoyed the lap pool as well.

The bright lights on the palm trees after 10 pm should be dimmed or turned off no later than 10 pm, but they eventually turned them off. Maybe at midnight? Also the shower dispensers needs labeling as I could not tell what was shower gel and which was shampoo. Minor but it would be helpful. Room was a little small, but it worked fine and would prefer a larger refrigerator as I always bring a few things to store to keep cold. Overall it was a nice place to stay. I was grateful that they allowed dogs, but should note my dog is very gentle and quiet and never barks and is extremely well behaved as he is crate trained and knows his place in a hotel. Other guests had dogs that constantly barked which is so disrespectful and not appropriate for a guest to have noisy dogs. Just because a place allows pets doesn't give people a right to disrupt everyone else. Not sure what they can do about it as I would rather have the barking dog than not have my dog allowed to stay. I wish people would be more mindful with there pets as it makes it hard for us who have well behaved non-barking dogs who we travel well and travel with us everywhere. It is very unfortunate that people abuse the privilege or travel with dogs that do not behave in such a setting. Maybe they should kick those people out or fine them if the dog barks in order to keep the place peaceful yet still allow our well behaved furry friends to be there. Also having an ice machine would be helpful, but they did allow us to help ourselves to ice which was fine.

    Property response:

Hello and thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re very glad you enjoyed your stay with us, especially that your well-behaved dog was welcome in a respectful environment. We truly appreciate your responsible attitude, that’s exactly the kind of guest we value when it comes to traveling with pets. Regarding the palm tree lighting, your comment is noted. Lights are normally turned off around 10 p.m., though there may have been a delay that evening. We’ll make sure to keep this more consistent. Your suggestion about labeling the shower dispensers is absolutely valid and we’ll make that improvement right away. About the fridge, we understand some guests prefer more space to store items. It’s a good point, especially for longer stays, and we’re looking into options. As for the noise from other dogs, we completely agree with you. Allowing pets is a privilege based on mutual respect. We’re sorry you experienced disturbances and we are working on clearer rules, including potential consequences, to ensure peaceful stays for everyone while still welcoming well-trained, quiet pets. Thanks again for your constructive comments. They help us improve and continue offering a great experience to all our guests. Sincerely, Hotel Management
