Checkin/Checkout is better now than previous visits - but still a little slow.

Waiter in restaurant (Samuel) was very friendly and attentive. Much better restaurant service than previous visits. I also liked that the buffet breakfast is included now.

Pleasant Surprise in Industrial Complex outside the Zocolo

The location is perfect if you are looking to buy a new or "semi-nuevo" car because most car brands are represented on the street within walking distance. If Spanish is your second language, then you need to use it. If you are Spanish-challenged, then go to see Erick at the Jeep-Renault-Mitsubishi dealership a few meters from the hotel who would be more than happy to practice his pretty near perfect English. In fact, if you speak Spanish to him, he'll answer you in English if he knows your L1 is English. The hotel felt a little bit claustrophobic to me because I am used to staying at Mision de los Angeles on the other side of the Zocolo where rooms are larger and the hotel sprawls for many acres with beautiful gardens and an oversized pool. The pool at this hotel being reviewed is not large enough for someone like me who wants to swim laps.

The food was good. The hotel looked like an overhaul of a typical motel with walls added to the exterior to block out the view that the hotel is located in the industrial and shopping complex section of the city that has nothing special to see. Then, they worked on making the interior look elegant by using marble tile, traditional wood furniture, colonial sofas and chairs, and beautifully hand-painted Oaxacan clay pottery. The also added two strategically placed small fitness room with one stationary cycle, two running boards, and an appropriate set of dumbbells.

Their food got me sick, I'm pretty sure plus it was not good but I didn't have another choice as it was very late. I never understood why their hotel was full of locals for lunch, I thought their food was bad! They couldn't really speak English which is odd bc staff at hotels are usually bilingual or trilingual so that was frustrating. They were also annoying, rude & a bit unprofessional with how they communicate to clients, not everyone but some. The rest that weren't were OK. Location was bad, I wish I would've known I would've gone somewhere in the center of town.

The advantage of the location outside the center of Oaxaca, is a disadvantage for a visit to the center (15 minutes by car and difficult to park). An irritating noise on a low frequency, that fortunately stopped at 21.00.

The hotel is located only 6 km, less than 15 minutes by car from the airport of Oaxaca. A friendly check-in in English. Large rooms with good twin beds, airco, flatscreen tv, good free wifi. For early departing guests was a table with complimentary coffee and some cupcakes. Very attentive
