Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere was only a small shampoo bottle in the restroom. I came with light baggage so I didn't bring many toiletries. I would have liked to have both shampoo and conditioner and maybe some lotion in my bathroom. The bed was a little hard for my liking but I was able to sleep.
I really enjoyed having breakfast here. It was at a decent time ( 9am-10am), so not to early. Irene, the owner was very sweet and had stories to tell. She took my into the city and showed me around while she was out running errands. Zaq, is the artist who has painted the murals throughout the hostel. I got a chance to meet her and she also was so sweet as to take me into the city center to show me around. The Hostel is located in the middle of the alley, you will be climbing and descending steep stairs, this brings me to tell you that all the exercise is totally worth the views! The wifi here was great and the room and restroom where clean.

South Korea1. toilet & bath in the single room is quite small. 2. it's 15 min away from the city center by walk.
1. breakfast: the casa provides nice traditional Mexican breakfast. And all the guests have the breakfast together at the round table, so it's easy to meet other travelers. the breakfast was so lovely. 2. location: you can enjoy the view of Guanajuato from the terrace of this casa 'cause this casa is in the middle of hill. 3. room facilities: the room is quite simple and local casa style, but facilities are enough. (table, chair, lamp, locker, more blankets, etc.)

United KingdomNothing !
I can not say anything bad about this place. The hostal is so beautiful and colourful there is a part of me that never wanted to leave. The view from the terrace is incredible. The rooms are clean and beautifully laid out. But the best part was the breakfast. Home cooked and prepared everyday. All allergies and food restrictions are respected. I am vegan and thought it would be hard to get a proper breakfast here. But the owner cooked me the most amazing meals. I am still thinking about them!

BrazilEverything was ok. Even the stairs were no problem for me. Only 100 meters and anyone with a minimum of regular physical activity will have no problem with this and will still be able to enjoy a beautiful view of Guanajuato...
Service, room, kindness from the owner, different breakfast, very pleasant atmosphere. Irene, the host, is very sweet and a super intelligent person

The doña de la casa and her staff are wonderful people and helpful with each and every matter. She’s also super knowledgeable about all of Mexico and fun to practice Spanish with.

United States of AmericaOverall I absolutely loved this place, but a few things that are helpful to know: * It's about a 15-20 min walk from the center of town. I liked being in a calmer part of town (still nearby some cute cafes and restaurants!), but it's not in the town center with the main city tourist attractions, if that's what you're looking for. * The hostel is in the middle of a callejon (alley) with many stairs - I think around 200 stairs to get up to the hostel! It was well worth it for me to get the amazing views, but be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs. If you take uber/taxi, it's best to take it to the top of Callejon Zaragoza so you can walk down the stairs instead of up with your luggage to the hostel. * After dark, I tried to walk home with friends when I could, but also walked alone a handful of times with being vigilant and was fine. I felt 100% safe in the day walking alone. * The shower took a long time to get hot, and then quickly got too hot, but it wasn't a huge deal. * There were a lot of dogs barking at night from the neighbors, so if you're sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs.
This hostel is a gem! It was like a castle in the sky with such a beautiful view of the surrounding city and mountains. I'm surprised it isn't completely booked out months in advance! I stayed here as a solo 30ish year old female traveler and felt completely safe. I stayed in a private room with a private external bathroom. The owner of the hostel Irene cooks incredible Mexican breakfasts every morning and is so sweet and caring- she made me feel right at home. The receptionists Rogelio and D were very kind too. Everyone who is staying at the hostel eats breakfast around the table together in the mornings which I really enjoyed. When I was staying there, there were just a couple other people staying in the hostel and it was really quiet. At first I was a little nervous about this as I wanted to meet people through the hostel, but it ended up working out perfectly as a quiet retreat to come home to after spending the day out and about (and was able to meet people fine at the english-spanish intercambios in town and through the school where I was taking spanish classes- escuela falcon). I actually ended up appreciating having a calm place to come back to after spending the day in the bustling centro of the town. Initially I was planning on staying for only 1 week in the hostel, and planning to stay in an airbnb for the second week when I was working remotely, but I ended up deciding to book the hostel for a second week - the internet was great and it was a lovely quiet place to work from (especially from the amazing rooftop terraza (terrace))! It was also very convenient to have filtered water dispensers always available -so bring your reusable water bottle :) highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!!!

United States of AmericaLoved this place.
A delightful place to stay run by an elderly lady and her son. Everything is creative here, not just the decor, but also the breakfasts she prepares herself. (included with your room). Rooftop with view of the city. I did not incur any of the problems mentioned in other reviews of lower priced hotels such as bad wifi or no hot water. With a single room, it's more like a boutique hotel than a hostal. The walk up the alley stairway will test if you have a pulse, but worth it.

The owner of the hostal is very warm, kind, curious lady who also made delicious breakfast for us. Even though i don't speak Spanish, we managed to discuss about history, politics, life with the help of another traveler. The decoration of the hostel is very cozy with its artistic style. There are two terraces with stunning view of the city! I felt so welcomed, like being at home. Please don't miss this place! Another tip for you: as it is in the middle of a hill, i recommend you to take taxi and arrive at the side of "Panoramica" so you don't need to climb the stairs but walk down the stairs.
