This was at least my fourth stay at La Catrina. The location, cleanliness, organizastion and price all work for me. Luckily I didn't really need to do any cooking or make use of a refrigerator while I was there this recent time.

It would have been nice to have more reasons to/ ways to meet the other travellers.

The location is excellent. Close to the centre & yet quiet. For San Miguel de Allende, the price is good, especially if you pay the extra 60 pesos for the extra large breakfast. The rooms were good. Comfortable beds with your own light & a locker. The bathrooms were good & clean.

I didn't like that they didn't have parking .The breakfast wasn't that great. You had to pay extra for a better meal. The staff at the desk were ok in the check-in. There was a young girl working in the morning (breakfast) she didn't seem to be friendly . The bathroom should be cleaned more often since it is used by many people on the same floor.

I did like it was quiet, and we were able to sleep comfortably. The internet was great and had good cable channels. The bathroom had good hand soap paper towels and toilet paper.

This was an amazing experience. The staff is kind and always helps travelers. I was in trouble because my phone was broken, but the staff even helped me to go to the repair shop. The condition of the room and the shared space were neat and worth the price. It is also a good place to meet other travelers. I met good travelers there and had a great time. The location is not bad, and a laundry shop is located very close. If I go to San Miguel Deyande again, I will definitely stay here again.

*Very poor breakfest *Some employees (and/or) guests talk loudly (sometimes after midnight) and quiet hours are not respected (after 10pm), waking me up every day... *The toilet in one of the bathrooms is constantly clogged to the point that I have to change bathrooms constantly

*The Uruguayan receptionist (I think her name is Mari or something like this) is very kind and sweet. I think she only works on weekends. * Other staff are also helpful. (Except the manager, who is not very nice.) * The location of the Hostel is good. *The private room is small, but it is ok, it has TV set and fan...

The breakfast was very basic, but that's totally fair for the price. And for a little extra you can top it up.

Great price for a really solid room. The location is also good. No unique allendian boutique feel. But it felt like a really solid deal.

Felt more like shared accomodation rather than a hostel, which suited me perfectly but might not suit others. Hot showers were a little temperamental as well, but was also fine.

Friendly staff, great location, comfortable beds, clean, breakfast was included.

The guy from reception was not friendly, and I felt like bothering him when making questions. I could hear everything from the hostel from my room and vice-versa. The bathroom floor gets very damp. Breakfast was poor. There were options to pay for proper breakfast. Bad internet.

The location was good. The girl from reception was wonderful, very responsive, and friendly. I was able to leave my bags in a locker.

The WiFi was a bit on off but it wasn't a major issue. I'd suggest placing more table and chairs or lounging beds on the rooftop. It's such a lovely space I felt it could be taken advantage of more and boost socialising in the hostel, as well as providing a place for people to relax in the sun and to take in the views.

This is a lovely hostel and after staying here for 3 weeks, I'd highly recommend. Tucked away up a cobbled street from the hustle and bustle of the town, it's quiet and relaxing but also close to the action. On the street you're a few houses away from the best coffee shop in San Miguel and on the corner of a bus which takes you directly to La Gruta springs. I also took dancing lessons on this street and there's great food options and boutique shops. If you're staying longer, it's also on the same street as the market which after wondering through the artensials you find a huge grocery market and food court to do all your shopping and eat. The staff in this hostel are also wonderful. A special shout out to Antonio who is very welcoming and friendly. We cooked together and he wants to make sure guests in this hostel are happy and will do anything to help you. I stayed in the 4 bed female dorm which was spacious with comfy beds. I found the room and bathrooms really catered for a traveller, whilst basic features...are essential! Big lockers under the bed, a small one next to your bed, your own light. Whilst it didn't have curtains it was easy to hang a towel up. I also really appreciated the towels they give you for free and the important feature for me was bars to hang your towel and clothes on. There was also plenty of hooks in every bathroom and all had hot water! Cleaners did a good job of cleaning everyday and if you did need anything outside of this e.g if toilet roll had ran out, then just ask at reception and they replace immediately. The general atmosphere of the hostel is quiet unless you're around on a holiday e.g. day of the dead or revolution day but it's easy to meet people over breakfast or on the rooftop. The rooftop is super to sit and chill on. The breakfast is basic continental but all I needed as I'm not massive on breakfast. Had the odd bowl of cornflakes but the coffee everyday.
