Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have more reasons to/ ways to meet the other travellers.
The location is excellent. Close to the centre & yet quiet. For San Miguel de Allende, the price is good, especially if you pay the extra 60 pesos for the extra large breakfast. The rooms were good. Comfortable beds with your own light & a locker. The bathrooms were good & clean.

United States of AmericaI didn't like that they didn't have parking .The breakfast wasn't that great. You had to pay extra for a better meal. The staff at the desk were ok in the check-in. There was a young girl working in the morning (breakfast) she didn't seem to be friendly . The bathroom should be cleaned more often since it is used by many people on the same floor.
I did like it was quiet, and we were able to sleep comfortably. The internet was great and had good cable channels. The bathroom had good hand soap paper towels and toilet paper.

South KoreaThis was an amazing experience. The staff is kind and always helps travelers. I was in trouble because my phone was broken, but the staff even helped me to go to the repair shop. The condition of the room and the shared space were neat and worth the price. It is also a good place to meet other travelers. I met good travelers there and had a great time. The location is not bad, and a laundry shop is located very close. If I go to San Miguel Deyande again, I will definitely stay here again.

Brazil*Very poor breakfest *Some employees (and/or) guests talk loudly (sometimes after midnight) and quiet hours are not respected (after 10pm), waking me up every day... *The toilet in one of the bathrooms is constantly clogged to the point that I have to change bathrooms constantly
*The Uruguayan receptionist (I think her name is Mari or something like this) is very kind and sweet. I think she only works on weekends. * Other staff are also helpful. (Except the manager, who is not very nice.) * The location of the Hostel is good. *The private room is small, but it is ok, it has TV set and fan...

United KingdomThe WiFi was a bit on off but it wasn't a major issue. I'd suggest placing more table and chairs or lounging beds on the rooftop. It's such a lovely space I felt it could be taken advantage of more and boost socialising in the hostel, as well as providing a place for people to relax in the sun and to take in the views.
This is a lovely hostel and after staying here for 3 weeks, I'd highly recommend. Tucked away up a cobbled street from the hustle and bustle of the town, it's quiet and relaxing but also close to the action. On the street you're a few houses away from the best coffee shop in San Miguel and on the corner of a bus which takes you directly to La Gruta springs. I also took dancing lessons on this street and there's great food options and boutique shops. If you're staying longer, it's also on the same street as the market which after wondering through the artensials you find a huge grocery market and food court to do all your shopping and eat. The staff in this hostel are also wonderful. A special shout out to Antonio who is very welcoming and friendly. We cooked together and he wants to make sure guests in this hostel are happy and will do anything to help you. I stayed in the 4 bed female dorm which was spacious with comfy beds. I found the room and bathrooms really catered for a traveller, whilst basic features...are essential! Big lockers under the bed, a small one next to your bed, your own light. Whilst it didn't have curtains it was easy to hang a towel up. I also really appreciated the towels they give you for free and the important feature for me was bars to hang your towel and clothes on. There was also plenty of hooks in every bathroom and all had hot water! Cleaners did a good job of cleaning everyday and if you did need anything outside of this e.g if toilet roll had ran out, then just ask at reception and they replace immediately. The general atmosphere of the hostel is quiet unless you're around on a holiday e.g. day of the dead or revolution day but it's easy to meet people over breakfast or on the rooftop. The rooftop is super to sit and chill on. The breakfast is basic continental but all I needed as I'm not massive on breakfast. Had the odd bowl of cornflakes but the coffee everyday.
