Great quiet location with great view. Plenty of outdoor places to sit, by the pool, bar, overlooking the water or on your deck.

Hotel La Joya is perfectly located on the quiet side of Isla Mujeres. The ocean side view from the room balconies are perfect for waking up and relaxing in front of turquoise waters. Wonderful to have the swimming pool on top of the small local beach access. Great to have the outdoor cool shower on the way back from the local beach to rinse off. The Queen size room with two queen size beds are nice and spacious. Basic continental breakfast included is more than enough to get your day started: fruit, coffee, juice, and croissants with jams.

There is nothing negative about our La Joya experience.

La Joya is absolutely beautiful. It feels luxurious and warm, homely, and welcoming, all at once. The decor is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and you can enjoy your breakfast from your own private balcony or yard space. The hammocks are delightful, you have a glorious swimming pool as well with direct access to the ocean (water shoes recommended as ocean entry is a little rocky across this whole stretch of coast). The location is awesome: near to Punta Sur, an awesome coffee bus, fresh coconuts, restaurants, ATMs, pharmacy and more. I would highly recommend La Joya to anyone visiting the island.

Nothing negative to report. I had a magical stay.

Cozy little hotel. Far from the noise, impressive view and friendly staff. The AC works wonderfully and the bed is comfortable, you will rest well.

It's not that I didn't like it because I already knew, but for an older adult it can be uncomfortable or dangerous because there are many stairs and the beach is rocky. In addition, consider that it’s located in Punta Sur so you need a golf cart to get there and leave the area easily as many times as desired.

    Great views, friendly staff

The breakfast included could have been a little more generous. Some things in the room and property were in need of repair.

Beautiful location in a secluded southern end of the island!

You need to be in fairly good shape because if you’re on a bottom unit, there’s quite a few stairs to get up and down, but sometimes a beautiful place is worth extra effort

If I really have to mention an advantage, it’s probably that the environment is relatively fine.

There were just too many things I was unhappy with. First of all, the price was way too high for such a remote location with no shops nearby — and they didn’t even offer breakfast! Even worse, there was a scorpion in the room! There were no staff members available at night, so I had to get rid of it myself with a clothes hanger. We didn’t sleep at all that night. The next day, the hotel staff just casually said, “We’ll pay more attention next time,” which was truly terrifying and extremely disappointing.

Excellent sea view. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good spot for snorkeling. Send our breakfast to our room so we could enjoy it on our patio.

Had some water issues but unexpected things happen. They worked in it immediately after reporting. No coffee maker but got coffee from vendor (in van) in main street.

The view from the room is absolutely amazing. The hotel is charming with very friendly staff. Food was great, we ate most of our meals there. The pool and bar area, is the perfect place to relax and soak it all in.

Bathroom and kitchen can be a bit updated.

Beautifully landscaped, great view from our room. Lovely serving staff, well looked after grounds. Quiet area and snorkelling in front. Breakfast delivered to our balcony.

Number of tour boats that come into the bay in the afternoon. Tricky entry to sea. Public access to the hotel.

Hotel La Joya is a beautiful property. The rooms are excellent, views suburb and food delicious

A small thing - the water dispenser is down at the bar. Would be convenient if there was one available upstairs.

This gem is on a cliff over looking the water. There is a stairway to get down to the water which is rocky and steep. Not exactly a beach but I braved the rocks to get in the water (my knee wishes I did not) . There is a pool on site. The decor is what sold me. It is absolutely charming with beautiful pottery everywhere, rocking chairs, hammocks on the porches. It is slightly off the beaten path however there are a few restaurants and stores not too far. I would suggest a golf cart or scooter rental for this Island it is well worth the money. There is food available on site with a limited menu, very reasonably priced. Probably worth mentioning that this property has a lot of steps, maybe not the best place for those that cant move around so easily.

    Not one complaint

This is my favorite place to stay in Isla de las Mujeres because its sweet and charming and feels like home. Love the staff and the service and the food from their restaurant is very good too.

If I have to point out any weakness its that I didn't feel safe/comfortable getting to the beach. There are no banisters and the steps are steep and jagged I was too afraid I'd fall.
