Hotel was great but booking.com ripped us off with the taxi from hotel to bus station.. Beware of booking.com scams they charged us £110 instead of 110 mxn pesos and won't right it

Hot water takes a few minutes to heat. Breakfast is okay but it's not a meal , it's like a snack

I have a few minor complaints first there wasn't a chair in the room so it really wasn't very comfortable. the first day that I arrived the receptionist didn't want to give me a chair and then finally the second day she did give me a chair and that made a big difference and then the bed had an oil cloth under the sheet which is fine for keeping the mattress clean but it really wasn't very comfortable. And the free breakfast was a roll, a cup of coffee and a little bit of fruit and it was just a way to get you to buy more food and they wanted a tip for bringing the food and it was annoying so I did that the first day and then I didn't bother with it the rest of the days. Overall it was not a very warm experience. The men at the front desk were really a lot nicer than the women. But other than that it was fine I was more or less comfortable there especially after I got my little chair in the room.

I was in room 208 and I could see down into the courtyard. that was very nice I could see everything that was going on down there.

Terrible shower head.. water flying everywhere Window didn't have a daytime curtain so you are either exposed to other rooms or have to close the main curtain and be in the dark No glass for water (but not a big deal)

There was no water jug in the hotel. When I woke up early in the morning (the one complementary bottle of water was finished the previous midnight) looking for water the staff could only directed me to OXXO to get bottled water and I was too lazy to go. When the kitchen is open theorectically one can ask for portable water, but that is a little inconvenient.

The staff went above and beyond to help me. I was in a time crunch to catch my bus returning from Cholula so I took the taxi directly to the bus station and reserved a uber to pick up my luggage stored at the hotel. I think the frontdesk staff Angel and his colleague were the ones who helped me and transfered my luggage (and my takeaway lunch stored in the fridge on the 4th floor lol) to the uber driver . When I checked in it was also Angel who helped me carry my luggage, but at that time I had no change so I said sorry can't tip you today😅the next day I was in a rush so even though I had the 15 pesos in my pocket I didn't have a chance to give it away. Whoever from the management team is reading this comment please give kudos to Angel and his colleague! Indeed an angel!

The bathroom needs a bit of TLC... the shower head came off when I upped the water pressure. The shower cubicle's door doesn't completely close. The fan makes a very loud noise. The towels are clean but just a bit old.

The location was fantastic. The hotel is also charming. It has a roof-top terrace where until 11PM they serve drinks and in the mornings, serve breakfast. Adjacent to the lobby, there is a coffee shop. Someone at the lobby spoke English.

There is no A/C and the bed was old and you can feel the springs pocking your back.

A very clean and well located hotel

I had two issues. The first was that I had to leave my ID at the front desk in order to be given the air conditioner remote. They will give you the two remotes for the TV, but not the air conditioner. The second issue was that two of the three ladies working upstairs on the roof terrace would bring us the menu and from that point on I had get up and go to the bar to order food, drinks, etc. and then go back for anything else we wanted. They never came to ask if we needed anything else. The one was busy on her phone the whole time, and the other had earphones on and was listening to her music the whole time. This was mainly at night. The third lady that worked the morning shift did a nice job.

We loved our room at Hotel Sofia. It was good sized, had a table and chair, somewhere to place luggage and a hutch with a place to hang your clothes along with several drawers. There was a nice flat screen TV and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very large. The lady who cleaned our room was delightful and did an excellent job. The upstairs terrace was a really great space to sit and relax.

Walking distance to the centre of Puebla. The accommodation and breakfast are basic but sufficient. The location is amazing, and it was a great place to spend one night as part of our road trip.

The room was extremely hot, hotter than outside, so it was very uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well. There was an electric fan provided but it didn't help much. We couldmt leave the window open at night because it looked out to the internal balcony so it was not secure. Main foyer is also wide open so all noise from the front desk carries through the building. 200ml bottles of water were provided on our arrival but any further were paid for. Breakfast was very poor - one pastry and slices of banana each. You have to pay extra for anything else.

All the noise from the central lobby can be heard up to the bedrooms. So I was woken up before 7AM by a group of loud guests chatting (or shouting) in the lobby
