Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaRoom was dusty, with little attention to detail regarding cleaning. Limited range of food and drink at restaurant and bar. Facilities and rooms needs renovating - everything is tired and dated.
Pool facilities were great and clean. Good range of food for breakfast buffet.

United States of AmericaMy issues weren’t with this property specifically but more with the concept of resorts overall (the tourist trap feeling). Specifically I think the resort is in dire need of a renovation. The interior of the rooms are pretty good and modern but overall the concept feels very dated. I would definitely stay at Tioman island again but I am not sure if I would choose the Berjaya resort. I would next time fly in on Berjaya’s plane and not take the boat ferry - that was a truly miserable experience.
The location is wow so amazing. One of the best beaches I’ve ever stayed at.

SingaporeFacilities need to book in advance like spa, cycling etc. Probably on the first day of the checkin. Number of ferry to the Timon island our just 4 (2 from Mersing and 2 from Tanjung Gomek), so if you dont book in advance you may not get seat and you will have to take sea taxi which are expensive
Beach is clean and comforting. Breakfast is only buffet but has good option.

United States of AmericaIt’s a huge resort so if your room is far from the hotel front desk or restaurants, you have to call a buggy or walk 5-10 min. depending on where your room is.
The hotel was on the beautiful beach. It’s just hard to get there from anywhere from Malaysian cities.

SingaporeThe resort is aging and a bit run down. Not well maintained. It is a big resort, many chalets are not in good condition and are cordoned off. A bit unsightly. The rooms allocated to us were clean and tidy though. The location is not near to most eateries. On the last day it was raining, however the shuttle vehicle which brought us to the jetty was open concept and the passengers scrambled to seek cover. Most of us got wet.
Most of staff were very friendly. Chill and relax environment

AustraliaThe room we had was run down and poorly designed. Shower head was broken with water going everywhere The hot water was overheating and banging during the night Motorcycles were continually (all day and into the evening) going past our room to a maintenence depot. Didn’t not like the step in bath Although breakfast starts at 7am, the man that makes roti was never ready until 7:15ish, and prioritised making omelettes.(although this is a small thing, when time is an issue if diving or leaving the island, very disappointing)

BelgiumCleanliness was very good except for underneath the bed (dusty). Expensive snorkel set rental
Big private beach for the resort with an amazing little island (Rengis) where some amazing snorkelling is possible (easy to go there with a kayak that you can rent directly on the beach from very friendly staff). Good food options and very friendly staff in general. Would definitely go here again!

GreeceIt is quite pricy, therefore the value for money cannot be that great. Although our room was renovated, in the common spaces like restaurant, bar and from the outside of the bungalows you could see that the hotel is a bit old/ worn-out. The dinner in the Thai-Indian restaurant was 6/10.
The resort's beach looks better in reality than in pictures, it is actually one of the best beaches in the island. There are some sunbeds in the shade where you can spend a few hours. Also you can swim to the Reggis island which is just in front of the hotel and experience amazing snorkeling with multiple colorful fish, even some (tiny) reef sharks and turtles. The location is generally very convenient, as it is close to Tekek which is the central island point. We got a free upgrade to a better room, as it was available. We surely appreciated that.

United KingdomBreakfast was decent but other food was not & expensive. We used to take extra cakes/pastries at breakfast and get pot noodles for lunch (kettle in room). Luckily Restoran Jeti Paya next door to resort does good value tasty dinner and cheap beer. We also went to Tioman Cabana in Tekek (walkable) and Sunset pizza in ABC (taxi) for dinner and recommend. Getting a great meal on the island is not easy but the rest of the island is idyllic so just be prepared for that!
Great pool, lovely beach with decent reef & fish to see plus Ringgis Island reef (boat trip). We enjoyed the games room: pool, snooker, ping pong, air hockey in air con. Good size rooms with comfy beds and air con plus fridge. Buggy service is quick and fun. Staff helped us take son to clinic in town. Snorkel trip to Coral Island was very good. Reception can arrange taxi trips for you to go to Tekek/ABC which were reasonable and efficient at picking you up later for return leg to hotel.

DenmarkThe restaurant was a bit funny. We never received what we ordered. Or we received what we ordered but it never matched the description in the menu and often parts of the ingredients were forgotten. We had quite a laugh about that. The pool area was great but we missed that the bar was open so you could buy a simple lunch when staying at the pool. We were often told that it would open but it never did before in the afternoon and then it only served drinks. It was a bit frustrating that we needed to dress up to go have a la carte lunch instead of staying at the pool and beach area not changing clothes all the time.
Location is great. The coral reef is just a few meters from the beach. However the current is quite strong so kids need to be accompanied by an adult. We travelled with kids and had two connecting rooms. This worked perfectly. The rooms are quite big and spacious. We loved the balcony where we could sit an play card games in the evenings. Welcome sodas and beers in the fridge was a great surprise for everyone. The staff was really friendly and helpful if we had any questions. Lots of animals to look at and enjoy for both kids and adults. We took the boat out to Rengis island. The best snorkeling place. Here we saw sharks, Nemo, snakes and lots of color full fish and squids.
