We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United KingdomNothing! It’s wonderful.
This is a beautiful little haven and we were sad to only stay one night! We really felt like we were in the rainforest - the resort is full of well cared for plants and flowers, and the lodges themselves are very well thought out (and quite memorable!) The staff were super friendly and helped us out with various trip admin, and it has a very solid restaurant for dinner. Hard to fault this place and would recommend to anyone looking for calm and a bit of luxe before going deeper into the rainforest (as we did!) Super close to all the activities in Sepilok too

BelgiumWe stayed at this resort for two nights. The staff were extremely kind and helpful — always ready to assist. We also booked the night tour through them, which was very well organised. Our chalet was spacious and beautifully designed, and the surrounding area was lush and full of stunning plants. The overall atmosphere of the resort was peaceful and visually very pleasing. Breakfast was quite basic, but lunch /dinner very tasty. However, for the price we paid, we expected a more comfortable room during the day. Although the air conditioning was working, the design of the chalet caused it to become extremely hot inside during the late morning/day. It was nearly impossible to hot to stay in the room during the daytime, and even in the morning we woke up from the heat. Additionally, the room was not cleaned during our stay, and the towels were not replaced, something we definitely expected given the price range. The pool looked nice at first glance, but the water was so warm that it didn’t feel hygienic at all. I got out almost immediately. We also recommend installing a fan in the bathroom. Without air conditioning, it was unbearably hot to use the toilet or take a shower. One more thing that was quite inconvenient: the resort doesn’t offer a taxi booking service. We had to rely on Grab, but many drivers were unwilling to drive all the way to the resort. This made organising transport somerimes quite difficult. All in all, a mixed experience. The staff, the beautiful chalet, and the lovely natural surroundings were definite highlights — but for the price, some comfort and practical details really need improvement.

NetherlandsThe fresh food was excellent, and so is the staff. All of them were very friendly and more than willing to help. And our guide Kai has a tremendous knowledge of the wildlife. He was more than willing to tell a lot of it, to stop when we saw an animal even when it didn’t fit the schedule. Kai and his boatmen where very enthusiastic and saw over and over again wild animals even before we even thought about it. We did several tours both day and night. And on every tour we were able to see different animals. We have had a great time!

United KingdomThe hot tub had to be filled with the shower which wasn’t ideal, the shower was just a hose inside the bath in hindsight if we knew this was the case we would of opted for a shower room over bath!
The staff were super friendly, great pool & beautiful looking resort! The fried rice was yummy!

United KingdomWas charged 100 for a transfer from the airport, when our return journey through grab was 40.. Soo many staff sitting around doing very little, when to me there were many things that could be done. Considering everyone staying were there on nature tours, nothing there was sustainable, no solar panels, powering lights, all of the amenities were from China in plastic (could you not work with locals to produce soap etc).
Room is dark and what you'd expect from a chalet, it's cute no WiFi in the rooms. No where really to sit outside which was unfortunate. Location to sanctuary/RDC were ideal for us as we walked to both. Food was ok, expensive and lacking, a lot wasn't available. Pool was good, but seating options around it were lacking all of the furniture was broken and only two parasol available

United KingdomPretty rustic - see above - perfectly fine for us though, we don’t like 5* cosseting too much. Hot water was in short supply - chilly showers on one of the days we were there. You don’t mind this so much given it’s so warm, but for the money maybe we’d expect hot water. But overall - nothing not to like
Lovely place, real sense of being in the jungle, nicely-done rooms, very lovely staff. It’s pretty rustic but perfectly comfortable - we ate out in the evening in a place just 10 mins walk away which was great, but we breakfasted at Sepilok and spent a couple of lovely evenings sitting on our room terrace listening to the jungle. Nice enough pool. One night there was a local ‘family day’ event on which was lovely to be able to watch - lovely atmosphere.

New ZealandThe chalets needed a little work, the curtains were damp damaged and not weather proof.
The staff were lovely and attentive. The bar is very nice, but it was lacking atmosphere as it was quiet. Chalets were big.

United KingdomChalets could do with some maintenance, but that's not surprising given the challenges of maintaining wooden structures in all that rain and humidity.
Perfect place to stay to visit the orangutans and sun bears - a gentle 20 minute walk to work off breakfast. The pool is very well maintained and just what you need in the heat of the afternoon. Mealtime can be accompanied by the in-house karaoke specialist who really should be on Malaysia's Got Talent (if that exists). The chalets are a reasonable size, though the aircon doesn't work in the bathrooms (at least in ours) and the beds are rather hard. Very helpful staff and good food, together with an excellent supply of chilled Tiger beer.

United KingdomA comfier lounge area would be nice because you can end up spending a lot of time in the hotel if the weather isn't great. But overall a lovely resort!
Lovely resort near to the attractions of Sepilok, and just a 15 min walk to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were very cute and they provide umbrellas in case it's raining.

MalaysiaRoom cleaning is only done upon request. The towels are spotted. The curtains are not black-out curtains & there's a lot of perimeter lighting, which could affect sleep.
