There's only one thing I didn't like: the villas in the forest with the pool are located too close, thus compromising your privacy. And that's not good.

A dream place for those who love the forest and nature. Completely integrated with the local ecosystem, perfect in every detail. Excellent service and unique kindness. Delicious food, many international options, adventurous excursions, dream beach. In short, I can say, even as picky as I am, that it is a top place, 10 out of 10.

A breakfast buffet can do away with machine-made lattes and cappuccinos; a barista at this facility would be the cherry on top.

Good selection from the buffet and an à la carte menu with exceptional choices and taste to follow, we as a family couldn't have been happier. It is hard to find places that can match and exceed your personal expectations and it did all that and some more.

The weather in summer is a bit tough (extremely hot and humid) and very stormy but it’s part of the experience.

Certainly the best breakfast in Malaysia. For cheese lovers (and French people), their Camembert is probably shipped just for them. In general the food is just beyond any expectation. Staff is incredibly nice.

Everything was perfect.

The breakfast is a foodies heaven - the most amazing selection of food and the pastries were straight out of the oven. I loved the complimentary ice cream cones in the afternoon. The room was amazing and had every amenity needed and more. The service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done so efficiently. Every single person who worked there was so lovely and warm. They all really want you to have a wonderful time - which we did.

I would like to see some variety in the breakfast. There were few Malaysian, Indian and Chinese dishes. In the morning, almost all the hotels we stayed in Malaysia had noodles with broth. But this little thing did not affect our impression of this luxurious hotel.

If heaven on earth exists, then it is the Datai Hotel. Everything in this hotel is aimed at making you relax. Free electric buggy from the lobby to the beach and back. Room with a balcony. On the balcony you can enjoy a glass of wine and listen to the forest. The room is very spacious and cozy. Not just cozy but chic. Robes and flip-flops are a whole separate story. And the bathroom itself with bath accessories, with bath salt and handmade soap. In general, emotions are off the charts. Fruits in the room. Every evening a sweet compliment from the chef. Minibar is included in the price. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel staff does everything so that you do not think about anything but just relax. A huge sandy beach with the cleanest sea water. All the sun loungers on the beach are in the shade of the trees, there is no need to move the umbrella all the time. Also on the beach you can take a kayak and swim to the nearest small island. Also on the beach they periodically give out compliments from the hotel in the form of ice cream and fruit. The food in the Malaysian and Indian cuisine restaurant is very tasty. My wife and I ordered two main courses and a salad and ate too much. You can also have a good dinner in the restaurant in the hotel lobby. This was the first hotel in my life from which I did not want to leave the city in the evening or even leave it at all. The hotel is located right inside the forest. Toucans fly around you and wild monkeys jump on the branches. We took a room with a view of the forest and were not disappointed. From a room with a sea view you also look at the pool. For example, I do not really like looking at the pool. Special thanks to the hotel for the fact that after booking the room they told us that we need to fill out the MDAC form. This form allows you to quickly pass passport control through the SART gate without the participation of a border service employee.

Rooms offer a lot of comfort but management of lights not easy to figure out and always good for surprises. Main/quiet pool too exposed, meaning from all rooms of main building and restaurants you look at the pool - felt always watched somehow. Pool down at the beach or beach the better places to hide away; gym opening hours from 7 am to 8 pm unusually short, used to longer access in the evenings

Fantastic place to enjoy nature, luxury environment, comfort and forget the hectic of life in the city and stress at work, sitting at breakfast with great high quality food overlooking the and listening to the rainforest. Fine dining with Chef Chai Chun Boon’s “Journey through the Far East” an experience in itself

This is a super hotel combining rainforest and beach. There are four excellent restaurants to choose from. The rainforest villas are spacious and well appointed. The exciting noises from the rainforest birds and animals add to the charm. Probably it’s great his strength is the attention to detail. Staff are plentiful and eager to help. I would definitely recommend it.

Booking.com were terrible. We repeatedly got emails asking to reconfirm our credit card details (and includes specific reservation details) but contacting the resort directly confirmed everything was fine and paid. Booking.com seemed disinterested that there is attempted fraud.
