Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Foxhill in Langkawi is truly a hidden gem. The cabins are beautifully designe, spacious, clean, and surrounded by lush greenery that makes you feel instantly at peace. Each one is thoughtfully maintained, blending comfort with a charming, rustic touch that really captures the essence of Langkawi’s natural beauty. What makes the stay exceptional, though, is the incredible hospitality of Ezani. From the moment you arrive, he goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. Whether it’s sharing local tips, ensuring every detail of your stay is perfect, or just warmly welcoming you with genuine kindness, Ezani’s care and attention set Foxhill apart. If you’re looking for a place in Langkawi that combines serene, comfortable cabins with world-class hospitality, Foxhill is the place to be. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely return!

NetherlandsYou will need transport. But you can rent a car or scooter at the resort.
We had a fantastic stay! The stilted bungalow was beautiful — clean, cozy, and full of charm. The location is perfect if you’re looking to get away from the crowds; right in the middle of the island, it’s peaceful and quiet, yet still easy to explore from. We really appreciated the option to do laundry through the resort, and we were also able to rent a car at a very fair price, which made getting around super easy. We joined a few tours during our stay, and they were all well-organized and great fun. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful — it really made a difference in our experience. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

NetherlandsThis accommodation is very close to the jungle to expect a noisy night, full of nature sounds as the cabins are not sound proof. Although this was not an issue.
All was good. And also the cats were vert friendly. I was here in low season a week after the air show and I was the only guest. C

BelgiumNothing that we didn't like!! Just be aware that you're booking an authentic Malay cottage/house, so you will experience life at Fox Hill in a similar authentic way: no isolation, bugs, ... Our house was equiped with 2 A/Cs and beds had mosquito netting (hooray for modernity!).
At Fox Hill you have the chance to stay in authentic Malay houses in a nice and well maintained garden with a jungle background. It's located central on the island, with anything you want to visit in a 30 minutes drive radius. Adding to the authenticity, and what set this stay apart for us, are the owners. They are very friendly, easy to communicate with and will support you throughout your stay at Langkawi. Breakfast is good and freshly made by them in the morning. Tip: Make sure to order the evening dinner. This is REALLY good!!

United KingdomWelcoming hosts Ezani and Ann who are so kind and helpful. The home cooked Malaysian food is the best we have had, so fresh and delicious. The setting is very rural and surrounded by lush trees and plants. A perfect retreat in individual, charming bungalows which were refreshed regularly with plenty of clean towels and linens. There was nothing! Some people might prefer the big resorts but if you are looking for a taste of rustic village life Fox Hill is for you!

We stayed at Fox Hill in Langkawi as a family of five (three adults and two children) and booked the Alfah House. The place is run by a private host, a family that manages everything together with great care and hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The house was clean and well-prepared for our stay. The peaceful location, set in a beautiful and well-maintained garden, offered a relaxing retreat in the heart of the island. The breakfast was excellent, and dinner was also available—delicious and full of flavor! One of the highlights was the flexibility in arranging meal times according to our preference, showing how much the hosts prioritize guest comfort. We also rented a car directly from them, which made exploring the island easy. The hosts provided helpful recommendations and assistance throughout our stay. The pool was clean and spacious, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Overall, Fox Hill exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming stay in Langkawi!

NetherlandsService was perfect. We staying in the Treetop house. Not the biggest house available, but it definitely has the best views. Loved to hear the birds and crickets in the morning. Free water and coffee in the room. Airconditioning worked great. Easy to keep the mosquitoes out but there is also a good net. Breakfast was plenty and good with daily variation. Dinner was good and plenty as well. We got all the help we needed. Decent scooter we rented directly from the owner for an honest price. Help with activities, even making bookings for us. The location means you have to drive to het to places, but it is conveniently located in the middle of the island. So everything can be found within a 20-25 min drive in all directions.

TurkeyI’ve been traveling all over the world for more than 20 years and this was one of the most unique places I have been to. If what you need is a place with natural beauty, silence, lush greenery and sincere hospitality, this is the place. We stayed at ‘the Alphah Villa’ which was spacious, clean and very nicely decorated. The villas are mostly build of wood and decorated as traditional Malai houses. A microwave oven, a fridge and a water heater was available in our villa. The host, Mr. Ezani is an attentive and reliable person who really cares about his guest’s needs. He welcomed us warmly each day and asked if we needed anything. He even hopped on his scooter to reach our taxi after we departed the hotel because my brother had forgotten his charging cable in his room. Hotel is perfectly located in the middle of the island; 15- 20 minutes drive to everywhere; Pentai Cenang, airport or the old town. Grab cars are available in minutes around the hotel with really good prices (Just download and configure the app before you go). We had breakfast at the hotel which was quite adequate. Since it’s located near a forest, you should expect to see small insects, mosquitoes or geckos, which didn’t bother us at all. There are also some very very cute cats around which we loved (as typical Istanbulites who are in love with cats) We also liked the pool and pool area a lot. Wi-Fi connection was fast and reliable. We will definitely be back.

United KingdomLooked after from the moment we arrived in langkawi, it is a lovely place away from the tourist areas so you are able to see a wilder side of the island. Monkeys, lemurs, hornbills all visit along with the friendliest cats. Breakfast was spot on, kids loved the pool, hiring the car was easy and very much worth it. We stayed in Suria which was purfect for our family of 4. Definitely a lot nicer than a high rise apartment and spotlessly clean, stayed 7 days and house was cleaned every other day. We will be back. Thank you.

Loved the little rice paddy houses up on stilts in the trees. They have made them very comfortable with air conditioning and there is a lovey little balcony. Extremely helpful hosts, who helped us arrange scooter rental and severed really excellent quality home cooked food. There is a pool for hot afternoons and such a peaceful location - highly recommend.
