How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe vibe of the place was magical. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. The villas were so unique and beautiful and the swimming pool in the middle of the lily pond has made it our favourite pool of our holiday (we have been to 5 other places) Like many other people we were torn as to exploring Langkawi and wanting to stay on site. My only regret is that we did not stay longer than 3 nights I could easily have done 2 weeks and really hope I will be lucky enough to come back one day.
Nothing can be faulted.

Verified reviewKunang Kunang Villas is a hidden gem in Langkawi that feels like stepping back in time while still enjoying all the comforts of a modern stay. The property is made up of beautifully restored heritage villas, each full of character with traditional Malay architecture and a warm, homely atmosphere. The grounds are lush and peaceful, with plenty of space to relax and take in the natural surroundings. What really makes the experience special is the staff – they are genuinely friendly and attentive, always happy to offer recommendations or help with small details to make the stay more comfortable. The pool area is serene, and the setting gives you a real sense of authenticity and charm that you don’t often find in larger hotels.
Breakfast could have more vegetarian options.

Verified reviewI stayed for 2 nights Rooms are clean Good space Well oriented It was a nice experience to live in these traditional houses Near airport Located in the center of some swamp Relatively good views in the restsurant and near the pool Hot water MOST SATISFACTORY WAS THE BREAKFAST, MUST TRY❤️🌹
No views in the villas One conditioner is not enough during the midday, although it was quite enough during night Price is too high they should decrease the price its not worthing the price at all There are lots of mosquitoes, but the resort provides anti flies in the room, there is a net around the bed you will need it prior the sleep

Verified reviewThe staff were lovely. Different things are offered for breakfast each morning. Scooter hire was easily arranged through reception. Pool area is pleasant.
The aircon isn't super cold, and you aren't given a second key, so you can't leave the aircon on while you aren't there to keep the room cool. The little houses aren't well insulated, so they get very warm and stuffy inside. The shower head needs a good scrub; a lot of the holes where the water comes out were blocked. Pool water is quite warm and not necessarily refreshing.

Verified reviewThe classic salvaged wood used to reconstruct the bungalows. The state-of-the-art bathroom blend well with the wooden house. The vibes are what I like most. Peacefull in a quite space but still near with nearby beach and other amenities.
I can't recall.. haha

Verified reviewWe enjoyed the history and the style of the buildings. Breakfast was varied to cater for many tastes and taught us about many flavours. Restaurant staff willing to adapt meals to suit. The room was spacious and clean with a great balcony. Beautiful timber and fabric throughout. The passion of Mat and his involvement from concept, building, planting, furnishing and occupancy. Rice so helpful and knowledgeable. Friendly hard working staff.

Verified reviewCharming heritages villa style and friendly staff
The charm of the villas has a limit.. Villas do not have proper windows and the wall and roof are super thin. Annimals and insects goes in and out. We left prior the end of our booking as we have seen rats in our room and were wake up several time by rats and/or monkeys running/fighting on the roof. + the place is next to the airport with the noise of planes landing and taking off.

Verified reviewThis is an amazing place! Like being in paradise. The villas were charming and they were cleaned every day, the food in the restaurant was delicious and the nature is stunning, as well as the pool in the middle of the lilly pond. We also loved the selection of books next to the reception and the cute robes that we bought as souvenirs. I would deffinitely recommend to stay here if you visit Langkawi, it is also very close to the airport and the Cenang beach (10 min with a taxi either way).

Verified reviewAmazing atmosphere, relaxing and perfect if you want to have it quiet. Beautiful cabins and all the staff was so lovely and welcoming. Loved the place, so White Lotus style.
We always needed a Grab to go anywhere, as it’s not near anything, but Grabs were cheap.

Verified reviewThe historic villas were lovely and beautifully designed. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great. We were the only guests to use the pool while we were there which was a luxury. The pool was deep and beautifully set within the lily pond. The lunch here was also fantastic.
The moody lighting in the villas meant that they felt a bit too dark at times. Unlike most of the places we stayed in Malaysia, there was no filtered water in the room. During the day we could get free filtered water from the restaurant but after 5 this service was not available so we had to rely on water bottles.
