We had a great time at this retreat. The view from the balcony was amazing, you could see and hear a wildlife. They offered tasty and cheap food. Lady from the reception helped us organize all the trips.

We had an amazing time staying at Paganakan Dii - the accommodation is beautiful with views out over a rainforest valley (including from the shower room which is open-sided!) There’s also a wooden decking with great views if you’re looking to get some sun. The staff at the hostel were extremely helpful, including giving us lifts (RM5 pp)to various places at awkward times, from early in the morning to the late evening, as well as booking us onto local tours. Fauziah in particular was an absolute star going way above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. We were also really impressed by the food, would highly recommend the Nasi Lemak which was delicious!

The dorm gets super hot as there are just a couple of fans (take a portable one) and it's a bit of a pain that you have to go downstairs and outside for the toilet and shower.

The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you!! The food is super tasty and very reasonably priced and the location is beautiful! They provide a free bus everyday to the sanctuaries. I would also recommend the night walk. A little tip, take cash with you as that is the only way you can pay and I would recommend taking snacks as there is no shop within walking distance (they do offer a service to take you to the ATM and supermarket, but you have to pay for it so you are better off doing this before you get there) also be aware Grab doesn't seem to pick you up from there.

nothing really, just be aware that it is not luxury jungle lodge stay, if you'd like all of this fancy stuff resort like, it is not, it is simple, quite, clean and very calm place you can meet more backpackers there rather than families with kids and reach retired people :-) Not that easy to get there Grab or Maxim taxi service, but they can arrange on reception for you for a bit higher price but still acceptable

location, calm place, you can look into jungle directly from your balcony, spacious, options they also organize various trips around, simple but very nice, exactly what we like and wanted to.

330ml can of Tiger for RM is unfair. Menu choice slightly limited, for me not enough local options.

The staff, the people i met there, it's location and the general set up.

Cash only payment was a slight hassle although staff arranged for me to pay taxi driver on my outward journey. Rooms needing some repairs, woke up to insects or animals chewing in the roof on second night. Very basic facilities in room, no hot water jug or drinking water in room.

Beautiful location, surrounded by large trees and farmland. The feeling of living in the forest was sensational, watching the sunset and listening to owls hooting was a big highlight. The sound of the rain falling on the trees around the room was delightful. Quiet location perfect for a relaxing stay. Food was fresh and clean although very basic.

The location and the views over the jungle are incredible. Everywhere there is jungle, and it's truly beautiful. The staff were very accommodating when we asked to move rooms, and the vibe was very positive. Food was great (much better than at other accommodations, which we tried over several days). I recommend this amazing place 100%.

It would have been nice to have more options for the breakfast but it was still very good.

The bathroom is pretty simple but you have an awesome view on the forest while showering if you get a room with view on the forest. Same for the view from the small balcony. The shuttle service to the RDC, Sunbear Center and Orang Utan Center is very convenient. The food and the forest view you have from the dining area is great.

Not that I didn't like it, but it's quite rustic, for example there isn't a fridge or a kettle in the room, nor WiFi. If you want luxury and full comfort don't choose this ) although beds were comfortable).

The views from our room balcony and from the cafeteria tables. The outdoors bathroom (although you have to accept the bugs that come with it). The food was good (although there isn't a ton of choice for dinner) and staff really nice. It's about 10 min from orangutan reserve and 20 min from Sendakan airport so quite convenient for what we needed.

The toilets weren't working for a while (which can happen), but they should have put some buckets with water, because obviously this became a smelly situation.

I like how peaceful it is here and the dorms are beautiful. Staff is wonderful too. I made use of the shuttle service several times. The meals you can have here are lovely too.

The accommodation is basic, as you are in the middle of the rainforest. Dont expect 5star luxury, expect a unique stay at a unique location!

Location is wonderful, right in the middle of the jungle. When you open the door, you see the Hornbill flying and you hear the frogs. This is what paradise looks like! The staf is wonderful and the food (we’re vegetarians) is good! Breakfast is simple, toast with egg and fruit. But on request we could get another toast. Great service!

Distance from main area means you have to travel back and from in vehicles. Food basic and expensive for what it is.

Room was great with comfy bed + mosquito net. Inside/outside bathroom. Clean bed sheets/towel and basic toiletries provided. Community areas have gorgeous views over the rainforest - we saw three squirrel species and a snake whilst eating breakfast! Great free shuttle service to RDC/orangutan sanctuary. Also organized travel for us when needed.
