The room supposedly had a flat screen tv but it didn't in the end. We didn't really miss it but just saying the description should at least reflect that. Also we requested an extra bed for our kid and we were surprised to find a simple mattress on the floor of the room. Considering it's a beach area and there are insects and ants everywhere (not a lot but we did find some on the mattress on arrival) that's not really an ideal place to have your kid sleep on. So we decided to cancel that and she ended up sleeping with us, not the ideal scenario. None of these were deal breakers for us but just providing the info here.

We had a lovely stay. Staff was really nice and helped us in every request, Very playful with our child which certainly made her visit even more wonderful. Location was amazing, we had a bungalow right on the beach, can't beat it.

What can be improved is the menu for breakfast, floor is a bit sticky and there is little mould in the bathroom (the sink and toilet bowl). The location is on the hill although it's near to the beach, not friendly for people with knee problem and the stairs are sloopy. There are lamps that are not functioning in a few rooms that I booked.

I love the view, room facility is good, friendly staff and room service given to us due to my mother's movement limitation. I will definitely repeat vacation at this chalet as I love the view.

It is a bit too pricey. What’s more, the prices at the restaurant were also too high and the portions too small. The rooms are not sufficiently tight (terrace room did not close fully), which causes a problem with mosquitoes.

The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, rooms have good AC and fan. The terrace was oriented directly towards the sea, which made the view from the terrace great. Chomel Chalet is quite secluded from the rest of the island, which is a pro rather than a con, since it’s very quiet and serene, and the rest of the island can be reached by a nice hiking trail or boat taxi. I need to give a special shoutout to the incredibly friendly staff, always eager to mingle with the guests.

The WiFi wasn’t working in the room, it was also quite bad at the reception area. So come prepared.

The staff was really nice, they gave us a welcome drink and the receptionist was a Süßmaus. You can pay by card which is really rare on the island. We got fresh new towels everyday. The beach in front of the door was beautiful.

Washroom cleaning could have been more regular. Be careful of the route going from the property to coral Beach as I encountered few bird smugglers on that lane who were unsafe. Better to take a water taxi if you find it secluded.

Beautiful location and beach.Property is maintained well. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. They even had a small shop at their facility for daily and beach requirements at moderate prices. Walkable distance to coral Beach. Well maintained daily snorkeling trips. Remy is also very well versed and amazing guide for scuba, unfortunately I couldn't undertake the same due to ear infection but heard very good recommendations from others. Food is decent with good options and quick service. Decent pricing if booked in advance.

I didn’t have high expectations. I read that the bathrooms were smelly. However, I was positively surprised when they were actually okay. The only down side was that you could see a lot of dust in the rill between bed and wall. Yet, they made the beds everyday and provided clean towels. Also they cleaned the restaurant area multiple times.

Almost everything. The staff was super nice and helpful. They always had a smile on their face. The location is also great. If you are lucky you can see beautiful sunsets there while eating dinner. Unfortunately, during my stay it was cloudy in the evenings. The food is quite good, sometimes the portions are a little too small. If you want you can eat at the Crocodile restaurant close by. Unfortunately, I didn’t reserve, so I couldn’t try, but I‘ve heard good things about it. The beaches were my personal highlight. They were much better than Coral Bay and Long Beach, but ofc there is much more going on. To get there you have to walk 30-40 min. I wouldn’t recommend it at night. Take the taxi boat or stay there. The path is alright. At some point, however, one small bridge is broken and sometimes roots are in the way. Be aware of the mosquitos at the beach right in front of the chomel. I also got my POW. We were just a few people. For my first dives I even got private lessons. In comparison to some of the places at longbeach it was a huge advantage.

Nice location with nice beach. Good choice of activities like snorkelling trip, Redang trip, Diving etc.. Nice view of the sunset. 5 min walk from beautiful Mira beach and 20 min walk from more chaotic Coral bay; you could meet a couple of nice Monitor Lizards while walking in the jungle :) Good menu at the restaurant with decent prices

The quantity and quality of the food could have been better. Also such a shame they don't have a water refilling station. Sad they don't have a men's dorm, so my friend had to stay on the other end of the island.

    - Aircon powered by generator which resets every 6ish hours means it turns off in the middle of the night and gets very hot - some staff while not outwardly negative verge on a bit much - on site shop is quite expensive - so curtains on beds or individual lights in dorms - only has female dorms, which is odd. No mixed or male. Not a red flag but amber.

+ has essentially its own private beach, which is beautiful + Most of the staff are super friendly and helpful + Room has Aircon + Breakfast is great value for money and tasty with food options + On site restraint reasonably priced and tasty + Snorkeling and scuba diving available + Quite social atmosphere in the dorms + Can pay by card, no charge + Can hire towels and scuba equipment

The bathroom in the dorms are quite smelly. So, House keeping could do a better job of cleaning out bathrooms often. The food is a tad bit expensive and not great portions.

The location is great! The beach is almost like a private beach with reefs you can swim to quite close. Snorkels and towels are available to use for a refundable deposit.

As a solo traveler I booked a private room for myself. Which was pretty pricey, even in comparison to European prices. The dorm beds were a lot more reasonably priced. The Island’s infrastructure etc is fairly basic and difficult to maintain, which meant aircon (which I definitely needed to sleep as the humidity was upwards of 70%) did cutoff at times during the night.

Amazing location, on its own private beach. The staff were great and funny. And the food in the on site restaurant was excellent and cheap, breakfast was included with all accommodation. The Dive Centre on site was also amazing, and we completed 6 dives with Dive Instructor, Din, who made every dive relaxed and easy going. He took time to make sure we were comfortable during the decent (as I have some previous issues with equalising) and he would point out things during the dive to make sure we saw all the different types of fish and other sea creatures. I would highly recommend diving with the Chomel Dive Centre. We also got given a t-shirt post diving as a souvenir 😃

Got a high-rise room that requires additional exercise. Hahaha. But the family room was big. The wifi is quite intermittent .

If you like tranquillity, a peaceful vacation with minimal distraction, this will be a recommended place. The view and environment are very panaromic and you can eat at the restaurant which serves both Western and malay dishes.

The wifi hardly reaches the dorm room. And no signal either. The biggest problem is the horrible smell. I think it comes from the water/sewage system and all of my clothes I wore in the room were stinking after leaving. Don’t know if other rooms have the same problem or not. Being at the beach it’s understandable that the sand still gets in the room, but that should mean that they clean at least once a day. When I was there the first day the room was not cleaned at all, there was only a male worker (in female dorm!) who came in to change one of the beds sheets as they had checked out and that was before 8am when most people were still sleeping and he had his walkie-talkie going off several times loudly. The white towel on the floor in front of the bathroom was absolutely filthy by the second day and was not changed.

I stayed in the female dorm for a few nights. It is an incredible location, with a beautiful little beach. Love that the room had not one but two AC and fans as well. Wifi in the reception area is decent (can’t expect too much for an isolated island) and also cell signal reaches reception/restaurant area. Shower is alright too, okay pressure and has warm/cold water. Restaurant foods are really good, the portion could be just a bit bigger though. The cold shakes and lassis are amazing!

Having a private beach was lovely, but I do think more could’ve been done to make it more relaxing / comfortable. A lot of the sand was made up of hard / uncomfortable stones / rock and there were a lot of derelict structures nearby

Rooms have an incredible view that cannot be topped, especially for the price. The private beach was lovely even if not the nicest Isolated location so very quiet and peaceful and very good views of sunset! Rooms were very spacious and incredibly comfortable
