The rooms are very old fashioned and need to be upgraded to 2025! The carpets had marks on them and the duvet was too small for the big bed. There were also not enough blankets in our room and we had to ask at reception to get us more blankets. The coffee station was not well stocked and we could only make one weak coffee each in the morning. On top of everything we had a big tree in front of our room and could not see the river.

The rooms were a fair size and we could park next to our room to unload all our bags easily. Dinner in the restaurant was great. We have not had great luck with meals in hotel restaurants on our trip and this meal stood out.

Rooms are becoming old and the cleanliness is not as earlier and the water from bathroom and toilet was brown in colour making one uncomfortable to bath using the coffee brown water from the shower.

This hotel seemed a bit shabby. Operating on a shoestring. We were first sent to a room that wasn’t clean, empty bottles strewn around on the lawn outside and twin beds. Olivia was quick to find a clean room with a queen bed. Room was shabby but clean. Little to no WiFi, breakfast was not great but adequate. Once again Olivia was very helpful with other issues.

The staff won us over. We had a delicious dinner here.

The Bedding looked dirty (Old), and it looked like the pillowcases had not been changed from the previous clients. There was a smell probably coming from the floor carpet.

The Room we were in was spacious Room 11 and the Shower was good. Breakfast and the view of the River were great.

Staff seemed uninterested to be of service. Kettle in the room didn't work, was replaced but felt that the staff was doing you a huge favour to replace the item. I asked for extra coffee and didnt get any. Hairdryer out of order, only 1 glass in the room for two people . Room had a connecting door to a lounge area of the room next door, guests tried to gain access to the room. Litter in front of the room on the river front. Attention to detail lacking. Room is classified as VIP but not up to standard. On departure no-one at reception to check out, at checkbout time rang the bell three times hard before someone attended to me.

The room was nice size, and comfortbale bed

The hotel did not have most of the food and drinks on the menu, which was quite disappointing. I had a lamb chop (1 small piece) with veggies for N$310, breakfast was also not as it used to be. I did not appreciate having to drive to town just to have a steak or oxtail. No information regarding extra activities at the reception, I believe they can do better, but something needs to change drastically:

Rooms are quiet nice and spacious and clean.

The rooms smelled very bad, like they have not been aired out in a long time. I think the carpets and drapes need a proper cleaning or to be replaced. The faucet in the bathroom was loose and the TV did not work.

I booked three standard rooms with double beds, and non of the rooms had double beds. Honestly as a hotel with a reputation I was very disappointed that there was nothing they could do about it. And didn’t even make the situation any better. With the amount of money that was paid I expect to get what I paid for. So frustrating. There was also hair everywhere in my bathroom. Either from staff cleaning or previous guests. Additionally, the restaurant was severely understaffed and we had to literally go searching for someone to attend to our needs.

The food was really good, the room was clean.

I was a little disappointed with the meals at Protea Zambezi really expected a lot more but I suppose its due to lack of produce and the getting produce so far up north. The venue was very pricey for what you get from a 3 Star Hotel

The view and the rooms are exceptional. I don't believe you can get a better view of the Zambezi.
