Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesIt’s not much to look at. No free drinking water not breakfast. None of the staff speak any English. Common bathrooms were super small. Def not a pretty hostel.
Common area was good. Staff did their best to help. The bed was very comfortable (we had a private room). WiFi was good. Private room was adequate.

United StatesVery limited English if at all. But far from bud terminal, but good location.
Good hostel with a good kitchen. Location is close to the Central Park with bars and restaurants round. However it is a 20 min walk to terminal north and 30 min walk to terminal south (both are 10 mins from each other). They have a fantastic travel agency and the staff have excellent information. Canyon de Somoto is an awesome adventure! The cigar tour is really I te resting too. Sometimes it is hard to find someone who works there, but if you just go across the street to the restaurant, someone can help you. Very quiet hostel.

United Statesno locks on the dormitory doors, anyone can walk in at any time and has access to your things. they provide tiny lockers that could fit a purse. very basic rustic accommodations, no stone only stove top in kitchen which was good enough. I also used their laundry service which they charge $1 a pound. I had about 10 pieces of clothes washed and a few pairs of underwear and they charged me $7. it was not 7lbs of clothes.
it was cozy

United StatesPrivate room was very sparse. Bare lightbulb from ceiling. Mirror was damaged and almost unusable. Sink had small leak so that bathroom floor was usually wet. On a busy loud corner and bar behind room was quite loud.
Was easy to book trips with TreeHuggers as staff comes by every afternoon and evening. They were super helpful. Central courtyard with tables, kitchen and lots of books was nice. Hot shower.

CanadaI booked this hostel because I saw reviews saying that they can help you organize activities but it's not true anymore! They stopped doing that a few years ago, Treehugger doesn't exist anymore. When I asked the lady about the activities available she was very unhelpful. I had to wait more than 90 min for breakfast. Very noisy. Only one fan for the whole room. The weakest shower pressure I ever saw.

LithuaniaReception lets customers smoke cigars in a very small yard of hostel. Two men were smoking cigars here, it was horrible: yard is small with no air ventilation, and smoking time of cigars is very long. All this time, I have no air to breathe! I asked them to stop smoking or go outside, but they didn't listen and said that they had permission from the hostel receptionist.. The next day, I told this issue to reception, and they promised to solve it, but cigars were smoked again. Hostel doesn't care about clients.

NetherlandsWear earplugs, cause the dorm is right next to the road. Other than that, I don't understand the negative reviews. The hostel was clean when I was there. It's basic, but in this part of the country you cannot expect much luxury.
Good location in Estelí. You can book all your tours (Somoto canyon, coffee tours etc.) through the hostel. Dorms are basic, but have all you need. Good wifi, shared kitchen and hammocks to relax. Only hostel in Estelí. Recommended for backpackers

Czech RepublicThe staff was very helpful, has a lot of knowledge regarding Estelí, cigar factories and surrounding areas. May give you a lot of recommendations and help arrange tours or guides. We recommend the cigar tour done by one of the people from the hostel, which was a very good experience. My Spanish capabilities are very limited, but the guide spoke slowly and simply so that I could understand everything, which is truly appreciated.
