Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe accommodation needed a good renovation. . The worst was there was live music nearby on the Friday and Saturday nights which was loud and didn’t stop until well after midnight. So limited sleep!!!
Location was great. There was a lift and the staff were always helpful.

United StatesThe bathroom in our room was too small. I couldn't bend over to wash my face over the sink without opening the bathroom door. I would bump the hot water knob when bending over to wash my feet in the shower and get either cold or scalding water. The only place I found to put clean clothes for a shower was the towel rack, which I inevitably bumped while getting off the toilet and my clean shirt fell into the toilet. A friend had a different room and his bathroom was much better.
The location is excellent, and although old, the rooms are clean and well maintained. The place has character.

AustraliaThe staff seemed more focused in serving the restaurant customers, and with one women I felt I was a bit of a nuisance. Perhaps, I misunderstood her bluntness. Raymond was very courteous and helpful.
Only the first breakfast had warm food like omelette, which I like. Otherwise the food was good and plentiful. I really LOVE the location but getting there from the station is a bit of a walk, although I know there's a bus that stops nearby.

United KingdomThe bed was lumpy. The bathroom was badly laid out, ridiculous saloon doors, and a shower cubicle where the entrance had been bodged with a curtain. I caught the hot tap, resulting in an unwelcome dose of very hot water.

United KingdomCould have done with some Aircon, as the top floor single room is almost unbearable when the temperature rises above 25 degrees... Stayed in mid June, with temps over 30 degrees and the room temp was well into the 40's. I was also accused by one staff member of running around and making noise at 4am... Never received an apology, nor did she seem to care when I insisted on finding security camera footage to absolve me... Left a bitter taste in my mouth. Besides that, everything was excellent, and the cleaning staff were superb.
The location, cleanliness and value were exceptional.

IsraelThe room was quite old and cramped, but it was okay for me as I didn't spend much time in it.
The location is marvellous, breakfast is a usual continental breakfast (with omelet), the room was small and the restroom cramped. As for noise, I can say that we didn't hear any from restaurants, just from gulls and the Bavo Cathedral. We stayed in room number 32, and our window didn't overlook the square, so we heard nothing.

AustraliaArrived late 11.15 pm, and was told we would be sent keybox details. Not done. Luckily there was still one staff to let us in, but lift had been turned off. It was difficult dragging heavy bags up all the stairs to the 2nd floor. Asked for help, so bags carried up one floor. The bathroom in the cupboard was funny.
The location was worth the cramped room, and it was good value for money. It also has a great restaurant.

United KingdomNot the staff's fault but our room was very stuffy and warm. However, we were glad to have a fan in the room.
Friendly and welcoming staff. The tokens, for a free welcome drink, were a nice touch and much appreciated. We had been given the wrong key, but it was very quickly dealt with and resolved.

United KingdomA bit more flexibility in breakfast timing would have been good for my wife who is disabled and takes painkillers after waking up then sleeps a while more, but we managed and I can understand the difficulty of making special exceptions.
Breakfast was good. Location was excellent despite a little extra difficulty in travelling with a wheelchair.

CanadaNo air conditioning, but they did have two fans in the room. With the fans going it was comfortable. My room was on the first floor and I found out later that there was a club next to the hotel that was a bit noisy, but the fans helped to drown out the club noise. Ear plugs helped too, but I found them to be unnecessary.
The location was fantastic as there was a Saturday market happening in the square in front of the hotel. The restaurant, Vester, was excellent, but there are several restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood.

United KingdomThe wifi. Ok when logged in but you had to keep logging into the server every time you wanted to go on line. This was true even if the device had not left the room such as overnight. A minor but annoying. Take care in the shower as the water gets very hot very quickly. Bird poo on inside of window that was never touched despite regular room servicing. Looked like it had been there for a while.
This hotel is located above a bar which is not as bad as it sounds. To check in you just find a member of staff who gives an envelope with they key and a token for a free drink. My room was small but was expecting it and have stayed in worse. Enough space to make it workable especially if the case is put on top of the wardrobe. Sleep quality good even with the heat from a heat wave. Breakfast is taken in the bar and there are the usual range of choices for a continental breakfast. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the hotel seemed to be popular with locals. Could not fault the location as was central to everything including the shops and major sites.

DenmarkExactly during our stay it was an Easter fair at the square, where the hotel is located, therefore there was a lot of noise during the day and late in the night, as well as a lot of illumination.
The hotel is located in the heart of Haarlem, on the main square, it was easy to reach it on feet from the railway station, as well as walk around to all sightseeing places of interest, including Frans Hals' museum and the theater in the evening. Nice to be able to use an elevator to come to the room. The room was nicely decorated, basic, but with everything we needed for 1-night stay. The breakfast was simple but sufficient for us.

SingaporeToo expensive i would say.perhaps is the high cost of living standard in Amsterdam. Toilet is difficult to move around without knocking onto structure, i cannot imagine for a tall guy coz i am asian size lady. Only provide one hanger in the room till i request repeatedly . Aside from the superb breakfast staff, The rest of the staff seems always busy coz they have to attend to customers eating there ( on other times )
Location, cleanliness of the room. The hangers are clean unlike some hotels in europe.
