Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were asked if we would change rooms to accommodate a guest with mobility difficulties, which was not a problem for us, however the room we were given wasn’t that clean, the floors were dirty and sticky and we were only given two hand towels the first night and after returning to our room the following day, only one bath towel was left for us to use. There was an abundant amount of towels in our first room but having said that, don’t they to shower early in the morning as the water is freezing and when it was hot it was temperamental.
Right on the tram line so easy to get into the main city.

United KingdomI should have done some more research into this hotel. Its an hours walk away from the station, 40 minutes away from anything you might want to see. The room was tiny, we had to side walk round the bed to get anywhere else. And we had the superior double room. They do have a kettle in there but if you're coffee drinkers you have to buy the coffee from downstairs. Which for the money to stay here I think is naughty. We literally used the hotel as a sleeping base so wish I had found a cheaper one, but overall had a great 4 days in the beautiful Amsterdam.
It's in a very peaceful area of Amsterdam. A 2 minute walk up the road is a lovely bar called Judes and 5 minutes down is Le Petite George which was great too.

LithuaniaIt was too noisy. Other guests screamed uncontrollably, but nobody stopped them. Walls of the hotel very thin.
It was nice, that hotel is in old historical building with his atmosphere. The location is perfect: near bus station from airport (bus N.397); direct direction to the most popular museums; hotel has bicycle rent. The staff was very helpful.

PolandWe were rolling into center of the bed constantly. Also we heard every step someone made at the corridor and in the rooms above us.
Great location near the bus stop and a few lunch restaurants, and they give you two roomcards by default. Mini bar at the reception where you can buy food.

South AfricaFantastic room with a balcony. Apart from the rather challengingly steep staircase, our first floor room surpassed our expectations in every aspect. The hotel is on a main road which makes for easy access to the public transport system which is amazing too. However due the majority of passing vehicles being bicycles there was no noise to worry about. Also conveniently situated near to the stunning Vondelpark. Highly recommended!

United KingdomThis is an older building in a beautiful part of Amsterdam. If you prefer modern buildings with lifts then this isn't for you! Some of the stairs are typically Dutch - very steep, but our 1st floor room was fine. I liked the vintage feel, and the little courtyard at the back. The breakfast room was very pleasant (and not too big) with a lovely range and variety of continental style breakfast items. No bar, but the hotel has a small range of bottled drinks for sale. Beds were comfy, and the whole place was very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy access to town centre via #2 tram and very close to the Vondelpark.

United KingdomTV needs to be upgraded and english channels that are on old Audio(which do not work)need to be upgraded to digital to watch, we found only one english speaking chanel and that was a French news 24..
The Hotel is located on tram route 2 which is ideal to get into Centrum.. nice and quiet. Staff are courteous and helpful. reception/bar/dining room very pleasant , and at 12.50 euro the continental breakfast is great value, considering the prices in the city. While the rooms are ok , they are starting to show tiredness, but we found the shower to be superb, not small and great rainfall and handheld shower heads.. be aware of steep stairs, this will be the same in all older buildings, in the Dam, It is just the way it is.. also be aware of the tourist tax at around 3 euro a night, we were asked to pay as soon as we arrived , luckily i had printed of my booking recept which showed we had paid when we booked, but without that we would have had to pay again.. and most brits we spoke to where unaware of this charge.
