Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe adjoining room was unlocked upon entry when it shouldn’t have. It could have been a very awkward encounter if there was someone in the room when I checked or vice versa. Luckily the guests in that room did not arrive until after we got reception to lock the room.
Lovely bar staff and cleanliness of the room.

United KingdomThe ship is quite a way away from shops / restaurants. When we checked in, we didn't realise we should reserve a table at the ship's restaurant. We went up to eat, only to find we needed to wait and come back 2 hours later - wouldn't be a problem if you planned ahead (and the food was good!). The ship isn't that easy to get to. There was a large car park, but we took public transport, which meant a metro then bus to get from the centre of Rotterdam. Sometimes we walked instead of taking the bus, but it wasn't too obvious where to go. We'd have loved to have a look round the rest of the ship, but that was only possible through the tour from 10 - 5, which didn't fit with our travel plans.
A very enjoyable and novel experience, staying on this old cruise ship. The staff were in uniform, there were pictures on the wall showing it's history. We were lucky and got a surprise upgrade, getting a cabin with portholes looking out over the water. The room was lovely with some period decor, but it was also very clean and comfortable. We'll certainly have happy memories of our stay there! The ship was a bit of a maze - we were given a map so had fun, but did still get a bit lost and confused at times.

NetherlandsThe carpet in the room was quite stained and the Deluxe room was situated below the walkway to the restaurant. Kids tend to run this section and the stomping sound is very audible the room. Also, 80% of the ship is inaccessible without further tickets.
The ship is beautiful and has a nice view on the Erasmus bridge and the Euromast from the deck

BelgiumThe ship could be upgraded a little. The classic interior should be kept alive off course but it can use a little bit of extra modern touches. The breakfast buffet was simple. There was only 1 bar open.
It’s a nice change in contrast to standard hotels, it was very clean, the rooms are classic but with all the necessary comfort, the elevator was quick, the staff is friendly

NetherlandsThe value for money during diner in the Lido restaurant was not in balance. We paid full price for ok food served by a group of apprentice workers. They were very friendly but lacking the proper skills. I.e. attendant cleaned up a table and went with the dirty plates to our table to clean our table as well. They forgot the side dishes, and manager continued to set up for breakfast while her colleagues’ were struggling.
The location is very nice, Atmosphere is great on the old cruise vessel. Breakfast is good, and staff is very friendly. Enough parking space and landing dock of watertaxi is great.

NetherlandsI come for a number of years already, but the organisation of the staff remains a problem. They are friendly, but so disinterested and not managed well in what they do. For example waiting at the desk for 10 minutes whilst you hear them chatting 2 metres away not about work, tables uncleaned for 30 min, breakfast is served to 10.00 and at 10.00 they start hoovering the place whilst you still enjoy breakfast, etc. If the owner can change that attitude, disinterest in clients pleasure and disorganisation, SS Rotterdam may even become pleasant to stay.
Its dutch maritime history, its a lovely environment to stay

United States of AmericaWhile this hotel has a vintage look, the decor of the rooms is a bit dated and the rooms are pretty cramped and not very clean. While it does not reflect badly on the hotel, the 77 bus that runs to the property does not run according to the posted schedule so it's frustrating when you are trying to get somewhere on time. The wifi in the room only worked (sometimes) while the TV was on, which was also a weird and frustrating experience. It is not great for getting work done, but if you are here on holiday and interested in maritime history/staying on a boat, go for it.
This is definitely a unique property because you are staying in a retired cruise ship that has a history to it. It has a vintage feel and the staff are wonderful. The breakfast is decent and the bar has a nice ambiance.

NetherlandsAfter booking I immediately got a WhatsApp message which I used for indicating we wanted to use the restaurant for dinner. The WA sais they would come back to me, but that never happened, so this does not work. At the restaurant the complaint on this was waved away and was completely ignored. Not even sorry. Another point was that the written A4 brochure with information given at check-in says : leave the room before 12.00. At 11.30 am we were summoned to leave the room by the cleaner + receptionist, which was very unpleasant. Indicating this to the receptionist at check out resulted in the message the brochure was wrong, no sorry.... Big point of attention I would say.
The audiophone tour to see the different locations was great. Especially the hosts at certain spots was very nice (Gerda was great!). The room: apparantly the room booked was without windows, which was not clear at the moment of booking. Fortunately we could change to a room with small windows for an additional; charge, which was great.

The experience is unique, we have river view but the ship is not shaky so it doesn't make people feel sick. The room is very spacious and bed is comfortable. Such a shame we only stayed for one night so couldn't join the fun activities.

NetherlandsSunday night (Monday 01:00 – 04:00), there was a lot of noise coming from outside. It seemed like ships were being loaded or unloaded, and there was movement with roll containers. Because of this, we had to close the windows. The air conditioner in the room was not functioning properly. So, it wasn't very comfortable.
The location is beautiful, the staff is friendly. We had expected a bit more from the breakfast, but it was fine. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The water taxi dock at the ship is also very convenient.
