Two minor things we perhaps did not like as much: - the location, which is 2 km from Middelburg's central train station and around 1-1.5 km to the closest bus station that takes you to one of the coastal towns (e.g., Zoutelande). This normally is not a problem for us and Middleburg is a beautiful city and very walkable, but due to my own problems with footware digging into my feet, it was not always pleasant walking this much. Note on our way back home, we took the taxi to the train station. This was much better than walking from the train station to the hotel carrying our suitcases, which is what we did when we came here; - the air conditioning system's maximum temperature was 19. This could be a bit chilly to some. Note you can turn the AC off. People considering this hotel should check the location carefully. For us it was not a problem, but for someone less mobile it might be.

Excellent hotel! We stayed for two days and here are some things we especially liked: - the room, which is very spacious and clean, plus it has a very nice balcony/patio, and you can actually open the door/let fresh air in; - the breakfast, which had everything we wanted, e.g., scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, vegetables, coffee/tea, fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli, pastry, etc. You could have breakfast either inside or outdoors; - the building, which is absolutely beautiful; - the service, we asked for a twin bed room, request which they granted, moreover, the receptionist was kindly called a taxi for us when we checked out. We were also given the option to save 6 Euro for every day we chose not to have cleaning done. We opted out, since we reckoned we would bring sand to the room which we wanted removed. But it was a good option to have nevertheless.

We had a little issue with the shower, however, this was fixed right away.

Our room was lovely and we especially liked the bathroom with the large tub. Breakfast was nicely appointed and offered a lot of variety. We especially enjoyed the homegrown fruit from their garden.

No fresh eggs or omelet were served. The orange juice was not fresh. The fruit salad was made of cheaper sorts of fruit. It was mostly apples.

The seafood was fresh and delicious. The bread and Croissant were nice. A good variety of foods and drinks was available on the table. Generally, the breakfast gets 3 stars out of 5.

They have the most amazing pancakes I ever had in my life! Like, literally! The bed was so comfy, I don’t remember when I slept so tight last time. Definitely will come back again and do recommend to stay and visit this hotel 🖤

While the lounge was OK there was no atmosphere it felt a bit like someone else’s living room but no TV. So we took drinks to the room - I didn’t see anyone using it. The hotel was extremely quiet - if you want very very quiet then this is the place for you

Good location less than 10 min walk into town across from the river. Very pretty location. Breakfast good with scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants, fruit, cereal, cheeses. Room very clean and cash back if you don’t have it cleaned every day.

There's nothing I can really complain about.

Good sized ensuite room to the front, & small balcony, with views over the garden to the canal. Excellent ensuite with large double shower & large basin. Comfy beds & tea/coffee facilities with small stocked fridge. Lovely & quiet location about 12 minutes walk from the town centre. Ample parking, super friendly & helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast.
