Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

2 of the lifts did not go to the ground floor (reception being located on the first floor) which meant access to exit required a chnage or a walk down the stairs.
The room was comfortable, the breakfast excellent despite the number of guests, overall an efficient stay.

The rooms were a bit small and cramped for two people. I did not like that *after* I booked a room with two single beds, I received a message treating my booking as a request and telling me that room types are subject to availability. I repeated my "request" the day before my booking was set to begin and was again told that I would only get that room type subject to availability. In the end, I did get a room with two single beds, so no harm done. But I should be guaranteed the room type that I book and should not be told only after booking that room types are subject to availability. I was planning to meet up with and share the room with a friend - we were two dudes in Rotterdam to run the marathon. We did not want to sleep in the same bed together! I don't know if this is a problem with Booking.com or with the hotel's own booking process, but it almost led me to cancel my reservation and go elsewhere instead. Also, the shower constantly dripped, and as a result there was mildew in there from constantly being wet.
Overall this hotel is very good and I recommend it. The location is excellent, everything is clean, the beds are comfortable, breakfast is good, and there isn't much noise. That's most of what I'm looking for in a hotel.

We arrived early told us rooms were not secure until paid in full. I didn't mind that we paid. Then when we arrrived in the afternoon we had to spend ages checking in again. There should be a way to access lifts to the reception on the first floor without key card.
Breakfast was perfect, location was great, Staff were helpful.

The windows don't open. No coffee machine.
We normally stay at the Marriott so were not expecting much at a Holiday Inn Express. However, this hotel was very good value for the price. Especially seeing that it included breakfast, which wasn't extensive but had a reasonable choice, although there was no cooked breakfast. The breakfast area itself is nice and light and sunny Re. the room, It had a nice new bathroom ;I think the whole hotel has been refurbished because it was clean bright and comfortable. The bedroom had all necessary facilities. There wasn't a coffee maker as in some hotels but there was a kettle with tea and instant coffee. The bed linen was nice quality, very smooth and cool. My main gripe is that the windows don't open. Apart from that, we were very satisfied.

We had egg shells in the passage doorway entrance for 4days before it was cleaned. Breakfasts are dismal. Same food daily with nothing special, rolls, hams, cheese, cereals - very, very plain. No care taken to keep the exterior grounds clean - food left out stayed, stompies everywhere, etc.
Rooms were well kept to a fair degree.
