A wonderful stay! Tobias was a very helpful host. We had all of the amenities needed to feel right at home, plus a lovely view of the canal from the top floor apartment. The location is perfect - everything within walking distance but on a quieter street for a very peaceful stay.

Old house = authentic and really sweet, but narrow stairs (3d floor on foot) and no air condition (but there was a fan). We were ready for that.

A bit pricy

This is the top floor of a typical beautiful old Dutch house in the historic center of Amsterdam. It’s been beautifully renovated and furnished. The steep stairs, old wooden window frames, and wooden surfaces throughout the interior are a charming part of the place’s authenticity. Gorgeous lite from every directions. Amazing view to the channel. Great communication with friendly hosts. For us, the adorable cats lounging in the window on the ground floor were an added bonus. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Very friendly hosts, welcoming and helpful. We were allowed to check in early and they looked after our suitcases when we left. The accommodation was cute, clean and comfortable. The location was amazing, very central and by the canal. We even got to meet their gorgeous 7 cats, which was a bonus.

It's a great little apartment with everything you could need. Warm at night and open windows in the day. A great position for the main centre of town. It was very helpful to be able to leave our luggage with the owners until our flight time. Thank you again.

Location was key. Great area and could walk easily from central train station dragging 20kg bags - 15-18 mins. The reviews mentioned the stairs, its true, there are many and steep BUT the view is best at the top. I am over 60 and had 2 x 20kg bags that I could use as a backpack, I was cautious going up and down BUT worth the effort !!

The only thing to keep in mind is that the apartment is slightly below ground level. This doesn’t affect comfort, but it’s worth noting for those who pay attention to such details. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay!

Perfect place, smack in the middle of the center, yet calm and peaceful. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful, while the cats were super friendly. The top room has a beautiful view. We couldn't have had a more pleasant time there!

Very comfortable attic apartment and welcoming host. Excellent location for trains and also museums and a nice view over canal. Very friendly cats in main area. They do not come to the apartment but might be an issue if guests don't like cats. We enjoyed being welcomed by them each time we returned to apartment after a day out. Stairs are very steep, which could be an issue with big luggage. However steep stairs are normal for old Dutch houses.

We liked everything.

Tobias, who speaks fluent English, met us at the apartment and explained everything to us. He had organised some little extras, so we felt straight at home. The apartment is centrally located. As I have health problems we booked the basement apartment, which is easily accessible. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a gorgeous time in Amsterdam, the apartment is lovely, such a treat to stay in an old style Amsterdam house on the canal. The bed is very comfortable, there is great views out onto the canal. The little added extras were appreciated e.g., coffee, biscuits and rituals minis in the bathroom. The place is central, very easy walk from the station and into the old town. The hosts were really lovely and attentive, gave us a couple of recommendations for places to eat when we arrived quite late which were great! The cats are so cute too! Would definitely recommend this apartment and would love to come back if we are ever in Amsterdam.

You need to be quick checking the bike traffic, not a case of ‘ look left then right then left again’. do that twice.before you crosss any road. But cars and taxis are quite polite.

The location was spot on and pretty much in the middle of the main area within walking distance to all the major areas of interest and bus/train area. the little apartment has excellent use of space and the amenities all catered for.

The apartment is so beautiful! Love the architecture and artistic details. Really lovely. Location is close to everything but not in the middle of the madness, perfect. Also loved being greeted by their beautiful cats. You have to walk through their home to get to the apartment. And you need to make sure the cats do t get outside or into your apartment. I loved that but some may not. Host was very kind and helpful!

The only minor drawback was the creaky floor, which made me a bit uncomfortable as I was worried about disturbing anyone staying below us. However, I assume whoever stays downstairs is likely used to it.

Kalkmart Suits is located in a lovely and strategic area. The location is peaceful, yet close to all the main attractions tourists seek when visiting Amsterdam. The apartment is not only comfortable but also offers a unique experience, allowing you to stay at the top of a traditional Dutch building (be aware you will be climbing stairs). The view of the nearby canal and the Montelbaanstoren Tower is a delightful bonus, especially while enjoying a coffee. The hosts are wonderful! We felt truly welcomed in their beautiful home. I will definitely come back to Kalkmart Suits.
