Walls were paper thin and we were unlucky with our neighbours the 3 nights we were there. Could hear every word people were saying in the next room and if you have neighbours like we did, talking very loud and going in and out of their room every 10 mins at 3am, not ideal at all. We were out till midnight most nights but still got very little sleep because of the noise. So just keep that in mind if you are looking for of a quieter Amsterdam break 😅

My rooms window was directly to the street, so the noise in the morning was terrible.

The hostel was in a really good location, right in the center of Amsterdam. The facilities were really clean, even the shared bathroom. The staff was really nice.

There is no elevator, the building is old as most buildings in this area. You have go through the stairs with you baggage, if you carry a big baggage this can be very dificult.

The three steep flights of stairs were killer for backpackers. The staff at nighttime was kind of rude, the staff member in the day was nice. Amsterdam is general is expensive so so was this place but better than some.

Clogged the shower drain and I had to pull out hairs and other mess so I wouldn't overflow the bathroom floor. Dirty fans in the shower and in the toilet Leaving a card at the reception when you are leaving your apartment. I get it, they do it so they can see and buzz you in, but honestly, it can be upgraded to doors with cards or doors with regular locks and they could give keys with keycards to their guests. Some dirt and cigarette filters under the bed. I think they only vacuum visible spots and that can be improved. All these things can be improved quite easily. Steep stairs (yes I know everybody mentions these) its not that I didn't like these but more of information for travelers with heavy luggage. We were traveling only with backpacks so it was not a problem as it has a railing you can hold onto.

Reading reviews here I thought that it would be very bad and we had low expectations but it turned out to be pretty decent. Compared to other same-range price locations you get a central location and private room. Personally for money paid it is worth it. R Let's be real here, you pay not a lot (compared to beds with other multiple travelers in shared rooms) and get a private room in the city center where sheets are changed daily and breakfast is free. If you are a simple traveler or backpacker that is everything you need. Of course, there were some issues but we didn't have any regrets booking this property. If you expect 5 star Ritz in the city center you will be disappointed with steep stairs and other issues like a small selection of continental breakfast. After all, it's 1 star hotel and you know what you are booking. The room itself has heating that you can adjust and a fan you can use to cool down. One chair, a table, a wardrobe, and a TV. I've noticed some cameras in the common areas that could help if you have an accident with theft or something might be helpful. Continental breakfast is included. There are not a lot of choices but it gets you going and you can start exploring the city right away saving time and money. There is some bread, toaster, butter, jams, peanut butter etc. Apples are the only fruit apart from canned fruits which are quite sweet. Cereals with milk or yogurt, eggs. Espresso machine, juices, and water, you can also make some tea here (only during breakfast). There are some meats and cheese as well. The dining room was clean and regularly filled with food if needed. You can eat all you want. They do have luggage storage available before or after check-in/check-out but anyone can take anything, it is not really secure as they give you the key and you go and take what you want (of course you should only take your backpack and things). Use at your own risk but nothing went missing from ours.

The stairs are difficult to use and there's no lift. Constraints of being a downtown hotel, I suppose. If you have mobility issues, I'd suggest to go somewhere else, since there's not much the hotel can do about that.

Decent breakfast, clean accommodation and excellent location. I had a 8m2 room, sufficient for traveling alone a couple of days. The bathroom was shared, but it was clean and functional. The street is noisy since it has a lot of restaurants but the room was oriented on the other side, which cancelled the noise and enabled me to sleep normally.

Staff member was very blunt and unfriendly on checkout, but his colleagues were great.

Location was perfect. Room was secluded and fairly well isolated. Some noise but not too bad. If youn want to be central for a night or max two, this is ideal
