Hotel doesn't look great from outside but inside it is lovely and modern. Bedrooms are spacious (ours was a triple room and still plenty of room). Tram stop right outside that goes to Rembrandt square and central station which is perfect!

Not possible to open the window in the room.

Somehow unconventional hotel with an ethnic touch, being linked to the Royal Tropical Institute of Amsterdam - which is a step away from the hotel. Simple but confortable and warm rooms and overall environment. Beautiful view from the window. Great green park next the hotel.

Maybe consider sound proofing the door, we can hear people going in and out the elevator. Not very good if your trying to get some rest. No electrical sockets in the bedside table.

The room is very spacious compared to the other place I stayed in Amsterdam.

The buffet breakfast was good but cost 12.50 euros which seemed pricey. Minor room complaints: The hot water ran out quickly in the shower one day. And we were short on the number of towels the next (didn’t notice til after shower #2). No air conditioning but windows could be opened and fan provided.

Located in an interesting part of town, next to a lovely park. Nearby tram took us right to museum square. Right next door to hotel is a museum chronicling Holland’s colonial past. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Most guests seemed to be young business people rather than tourists.

No restaurant in the Hotel other than the Breakfast Bar.The nearby Tropen Restaurant was only open until 6.00pm, so evening meals were taken at the local Bars/Restaurants situated on the opposite side of the main road. It was not clear when the Hotel drinks bar operated.

Comfortable Hotel, room more than adequate and clean. Hotel in a quiet location on the edge of Oosterpark, but a short walking distance to a number or Bars/Restaurants. Muiderpoort train Station about 500 yards away and tram station about 50 yards. Hotel Staff friendly and obliging when advise needed or help required.

The cleanliness was okay, but somehow we found a silverfish close to the coffee machine and the towels were a bit scratchy, the bed sheets were okay.

Staff was really kind and always available when we had questions. If you arrive by by car it's very practical to have a reserved parking space, since this hotel is very close to the main city. The view of our room was really nice, since it looked out into the park. For those who forget their gear for rainy seasons, it was nice to know that they sell raincoats by the front desk.

    WIFI & staff.

Staff were not particularly friendly - surprising as the rest of the population of Amsterdam were very kind, polite & welcoming. The room was modern, clean and spacious. The WIFI & TV were flaky, but we didn't spend a lot of time there tbh. There is a lovely shopping street opposite, with an Aldi, supermarket & plenty of shops. There's also a good market on Fridays. The eco-restaurant on the corner did a fantastic breakfast. Location was good - a no9 tram was close & frequent - took us straight to the heart of the city. Watch out for the bikes - they are EVERYWHERE & make crossing the streets a bit of a challenge. A fantastic place to visit - quite pricy but very tourist-friendly.

Pillows very uncomfortable and overstuffed. Smallest loo I've ever squeezed into ... kept banging elbows! Bathroom also tiny. Kettle very designer but unfortunately wouldn't fit under the tap so you couldn't fill it. Had to use a small water bottle to transfer water. Bed small, duvet very thin ... very pleased that I travel with a hot water bottle. The safe was at floor level under the bottom shelf so I couldn't get at it unless I knelt on the floor so I didn't use it.

small bathrooms, especially toilet room, coffee pads in the room are not refilled if you use them, no fridge or minibar available in the room (for this price suppose to ..), not enough sockets in the room, sometimes cleaning lady forget to change towels or to bring toilet paper, so you need to ask reception desk. Hotel needs a total renovation, doesnt look bad, but looks old and worn and too expensive for what they are offering

very friendly staff, they are solving fast your problems, nice and quite location inside the park, Tropen Museum next to it, many shops , pubs and restaurants close, tram station close, easy and fast to reach downtown, good for turists to be able to check their luggage weight before going to the airport because hotel has a scale available in the lobby, comfortable beds

    Nothing.

We needed an inexpensive hotel to spend the night before moving to a new apartment. We know Amsterdam well, and think this hotel is a super good choice for business or pleasure. This is not a luxury hotel, but a great choice if you want a good room and a comfortable bed. We had a park view, which was beautiful and quiet. You can open the window for fresh air. The room was small, but well designed with plenty of space to reach the bed and desk. This is the reason I give this hotel such a high mark. I will definitely tell people visiting us to use this hotel. It's also a fine hotel for tourists.

There isn't much to dislike about this hotel. Maybe it's a bit of an eye soar to look at from the outside since its towering over a public park, but nothing that should put you off. The main entrance is a bit weird to get to as you have to walk through the hotel's parking, or through the Tropen Museum's staff entrance. Also, if you're visiting in the summer, keep in mind that some rooms do not have air conditioning.

The hotel offers very reasonable prices and is placed in a very ideal location. Far enough from the city centre to be in a quiet area, but close enough to be reachable with a 15 minute tram trip. It's also located at walking distance from two main landmarks: Artis Zoo and the Tropen Museum. The hotel itself is located in a very beautiful park, is very well maintained, and employs very friendly staff which speak perfect English. We've asked them to book a taxi for us, print boarding passes, and asked for some advise of what's worth visiting and what isn't. They were very happy to oblige with all our requests. We had a twin room which was very spacious (especially for Amsterdam standards) and clean. Free WiFi is offered in all rooms, along with flat screen TV, tea/coffee, safe, private bathroom, and all other amenities that come standard with the room.

Staff are very friendly and ready to help. Wi-Fi connection was excellent all throughout the hotel - room, lobby, breakfast area, and also just outside the main entrance door. No free breakfast

The tram stop is literally right infront of the hotel, this makes it very convenient to travel from and to the center of the city which is like 10 mins away. Loved it

Never really liked the type of reception that runs in and out from some kind of "television room" to attend guests only when they come by, which happened to me 2/3 times. The hotel is average witha very bizarre layout in the actual room... It's good to sleep in which was my purpose, but thats about it.

Location is good if you know you're way around Amsterdam. Tram stops are close and this part of Oost is quite alright...

Breakfast not included in price and room was a bit cold sometimes.

Location is good. Only 10 minutes by tram from city center and 30 minutes if you walk.

they turned of the heating at night and the nights were quite cold. we have chosen 1 double bad but we had 2 single. they were combined together but they were moving too easy, even, if you turn one side to another, it was really uncomfortable. personel was unhappy and not helpful generally, and one of the guy in recepiton was even rude.

location is not bad. Walking to the center takes min 30 mins but there is a tram stop in front.

Housekeeping on par with 5-star plus hotels. All staff friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable with a great view. Most importantly the bed was very comfortable and had great sleeps after long work days. The room had lots of windows and very good curtains (privacy & black-out curtains). The bathroom is adequate - not luxurious, but super clean and always loads of fresh towels.

There are better located/priced/designed places for sure! Unclean, smokers on the balconies and rude reception. You pay less in most hostels and get more. Separate beds are a given, get ready to argue your way into a double bed.

Easy to get to with public transport

Although clean, the rooms are tiny and the building looks like a bunker (looks even worse being next to the Tropen Museum -- very nice building). The cost seemed slightly unreasonable high for what you get. Staff is nice and helpful. The free Wifi is very slow! The mattresses are old spring types and the radiator heaters respond very slow (if at all, ours didn't seem to work).

The location is close to to a tram station. Walking to the city center is about 30 minutes. The park next to the hotel is excellent for family walks.

Hotel was a disaster, worst experience ever: - have booked for a group with different check-in and check-out, and hotel didn't had information, and charged more than agreed with booking. - EACH day I've leaved a print from booking, and "booking.com" has sent hotel same print as well (via fax, I was there). Nevertheless, hotel has charged more and people were in total confusion!!!! REALLY orrible

Adequately comfortable. Nice location and convenient to get to the attractions.

No AC was a bit hot even top floor with windows open. Cleaning has gone down hill a bit since last stay. Room is modern design with recent renovation but looks "hard used."

Good location, easy to tram to anywhere in city. Good price, secure parking. Great view of you ask for a top floor room!

There was no air con so the rooms were very hot and stuffy, and we found it difficult to sleep even with the window wide open. We chose not to have breakfast there as it was expensive compared to many restaurants just a short walk away.

Location was great for what we needed, although quite a walk from the centre. Trams were nearby however.

The room could use more plugs for electronics, especially near the beds. Beds are on wheels so trying to sit in bed against the wall and work on a laptopvor watch the TV just rolls the bed away from the wall.

Clean and stylish rooms. Staff go out of their way to deliver excellent service. Fairly close to city centre in a beautiful neighborhood. Good hairdryer, not like those crap ones many hotels have. You get luxury for less.

The breakfast is very expensive, We did not buy it of course. The hotel isn't for the experience rather just for the stay, the facilities are basic.

The Free WiFi is good, the staff was quite polite and generous, The 24/7 CheckIn counter was important to us since we came on night. Very Close to Tram No. 9 and to the town centre which is not too far off.
