How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing it was great
The hotel was clean& modern, our room also had a small fridge which was very useful. The staff all very polite & well trained. Would certainly stay here again.

The towels were never changed, instead they were folded back dirty every day. The window can not be open and the AC is noisy. The shower head wasn't working properly.
Big room, comfortable beds and fast check in and check out. Good location, right next to the train station.

Overall, excellent. The 3am “false fire alarm” and evacuation was a bit of a shock, but these things happen if you travel often enough.
Comfortable, modern, “industrial chic”. Lots of options from a generous breakfast buffet. Overnight parking for bicycle a plus.

The lobby had 3 lifts but if you were standing at first one, you can't see if the last one had arrived.
The reception area was small but welcoming. It had welcome drinks, snacks and fruits. There was a little pantry (for purchases) if you need anything. I was given a corner room and it was large. Twin Room with a lounge chair. Able to work with the long desk. I liked it more that the room is not carpeted so it gave a real-clean feeling. The location was really near to the station.

Nothing, except perhaps bottle of water in the room on arrival.
Room was a very good size; staff at breakfast and reception are very helpful and approachable. Breakfast - good selection of hot and cold food and eggs done at your request. Walking distance from Utrecht Central station.

No coffee machine in room, late checkout only for money (usually you simply offer it, if available and requested), no collaboration with parking garage.
Location, room size, bed size, clean, centrally located, calm, good breakfast, very friendly.

The seem to be incapable of generating invoices. It has been almost 5 days since I stayed in the hotel and still I haven't received the updated invoice after asking them several times. Big plus is that the hotel is located next to the station but the adjacent neighbourhood swarming with unfriendly hoodlums is something you have to take for granted.
The staff was friendly and courteous but they didn't seem very knowledgeable, see dislike below.

key cards fail too easy. for me came at wrong time.. needed to run to room to get jacket for the rain with my transport waiting for me out front. couldnt enter my room and no time to fix card.

Super breakfast buffet. Restaurant was also very good and personal very helpful. Location perfect for city center. A little too far for the « spoorwegmuseum »: we used our car to get there on Sunday morning.

i prefer fresh air over A/C and the windows cannot be opened in this hotel at all.. the price was fairly high too, but thats a standard in Utrecht I assume..

Sound proofing of windows is not perfect, so noise from the street may disturb a lighter sleeper, if the room is facing the road and is on lower floors.
Very comfortable beds and pillows. Great variety of food for breakfast. Located conveniently near the train station. Heating stayed on when I was not in the room.

The small fridge was noisy. Light from the hall came through between the door frame and the door and was in direct line to my side of the bed.
Big room for a family of three. Everything was there that we needed for one night. Most important was the location as we needed to catch an early train.

The water in the shower was leaking outside so we had to put towels on the floor.

Bathroom was kinda cold, same as the room, but the shower kept it warm once turned on.
