The rooms are above a restaurant which was closed on the day we stayed so gaining access was only possible by telephoning someone to let us in. Just as well I had a usable phone. There was nothing bad but it was strange with an almost total lack of staff. I thought I had booked a double and we were given a twin.

The village was very pretty and the hotel was conveniently placed for exploration.

Room ridiculously small! To be able to reach both sides of the double bed, and windows, it was necessary to move the wardrobe, the table and the bed which was along the heater and prevented the heating to work correctly: As a result, the door of the room of shower could not open more than hardly. Good thing we were not too big to be able to reach it. Have to pay beforehand, from the arrival. Not be able to choose the hour of the breakfast. We were obliged to go at 9:00 am. Obsolete electricity. Not enough plugs. The cables of the Bedside lights where behind the mattress.

    Petit déjeuner

Attitude of staff on arrival poor and unhelpful and not very welcoming at all Room was poorly insulated....hearing children running about upstairs and also heard people's conversation in room next door to us. Clearly the rooms had been divided in the cheapest way possible.

    Didn't like anything

The kitchen at the hotel restaurant closed early (9 pm) - but that's a common practice in the Netherlands (we found a great Chinese restaurant 100 m from the hotel). Also, breakfast was delicious but kind of small: coffee, bread + 3 slices of sausage, ham and cheese per person. But this is also a tradition in the Netherlands and probably in West Europe in general.

Very nice location near the bridge over a canal in a cozy village near Gauda (4.5 km). Very quiet and charming, we got to see the bridge opening to let small boats pass. My kid liked the lift very much :)

Nothing - met all our expectations.

The location of this hotel is perfect for being in this area. It is close to some great sights and lovely walks. The service was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was always waiting for us at the table at the time we indicated we would sit down. It was fresh and delicious. The beer was cold and the wine was tasty. Whilst the room was a little small, it was clean and comfortable. The lift was a a bonus and much appreciated. The meal and bar areas were quite homey and welcoming and the view of the bridge was entertaining when it was raised.

The room was very bare with no personal touches. It would have been nice to have had a few little extras like a headboard and pictures on the wall. The amount we paid was almost double the amount we had been quoted when booking. I felt it was expensive for a basic bed and breakfast. Recommended by a friend but I found it disappointing.

The location was good and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Sat Nav made a terrible mess getting there, taking almost impassable routes, yet in reality it's very close to a significant road. The walls were thin, so noises in the neighbouring rooms came through quite clearly.

A lovely setting alongside the canal, with supermarket and restaurants in what at first glance seems a very small quaint village. Whilst checkin times are a little restrictive, the owners live above the hotel and were very helpful letting us in very late.

The building is renovated but apparently quite old and the term "soundproofing" is utterly unknown to it. You can hear EVERYTHING, both from other rooms as well from the street. Thankfully, the latter is rather quiet in the night, due to the hotel being in a small village. Also, some rooms are extremely small, barely having enough room to move about even without any luggage in them.

Very nice location, perfect spot to explore south Holland by car. Haastrecht is also very nice for a small stroll before going to bed. Good wifi and helpful staff.
