Our hosts Winanda and Marco were warm, friendly and welcoming. They have redesigned and rebuilt this place and made a great job of it. Clean, spacious and well equipped. Fabulous breakfast brought to your table. The location is ideal if you like cycling with excellent car free routes. They even have a boat you can hire to go around the huge lake.

Great location in the country side, close to the Strand with nice restaurant. Super friendly owners, good parking and delicious breakfast! For sure, would like to come back again here!

Good location , Great hosts , Fabulous breakfast , Super restaurant 30 meters from property . Host kindly booked us a table . Rooms and Showers were excellent . I would score higher than available options . Will return for pleasure when in Holland

Beautiful quiet location in a Dutch country village. Fantastic hosts who go to great lengths to make sure that their guests have a fabulous and memorable stay.

We had an exceptionally good 5 night stay, as a family of 3, in this modern B&B. Lovely spacious room, with first class facilities, including a balcony. There's even a communal coffee bar & fridge for guests to use, outside of the bedrooms.. Breakfast was plentiful & varied. The owners were very friendly & nothing was too much trouble. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

The staircases to the bedrooms & upper additional bedroom space are typically Dutch, being narrow & steep, for those of us Brits who are used to more 'lazy' staircases. You just need to take a little more time & care when using them.

This B&B must have been one of the best stays ever - and we travel a lot! Everything was just perfect! Winanda, Marco and Bobby are wonderful hosts. We would have loved to stay longer. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and spotlessly clean. We found a little bouquet of fresh flowers and a welcom sign with our name on it. Our daughter loved the upstairs room. We also used the little kitchenette in the hallway. Our room had a terrace with a wonderful view, so we used it for picknicks at sunset. (The supermarkets in Nieuwkoop offer all kinds of tasty options). Parking was no problem at all. We rented a boat and explored the lake for 3h! The breakfast was extraordinary, freshly prepared every morning, with a little yummy extra everyday, like waffles. We mentioned in passing what we liked and the next morning, it was sitting on our table. Rarely have we stayed in such a lovely house with such wonderful hosts! If this reads like an exaggeration, it is not. We will come back.

Our stay at The Lake Inn was absolutely amazing! Winanda and Marco were incredible hosts—so warm and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed. They even gave us some fantastic dinner recommendations that we loved! From the moment we checked in to the cozy rooms and the delicious breakfast, everything exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again. Highly recommend!

It's a small guest house, elegant quiet location, very comfy bed and pillow. Good breakfast, honesty beer/drinks fridge and location. I was offered the use of a bicycle to wander about on if I wanted it which I thought was nice I went for a lovely 30 minute run along the canal at the back of the place into the local village, back for a shower then a 20 minute walk down a quiet road and some footpaths to the local restaurant on the lake and had a good meal. There was off-road parking for my slightly oversized hire car which might have been at risk on the very small road outside. There was free Wi-Fi available but I didn't try using it.

We stayed two nights in this lovely guesthouse located in a charming neighbourhood. Everything exceeded our expectations. Clean, beautifully decorated room, delicious breakfast, excellent service, and restaurants within a walking distance. We rented bikes and did a nice countryside tour round the lake with beautiful landscapes. If you are looking for a place to relax and rest, this is a perfect place to stay, a true hidden gem. Also a good option for business travelers or events, Amsterdam is just a 45 mins drive away. Thank you so much Winanda and Marco, and labradoodle Bobby for your kind hospitality!

Excellent in every aspect- warm and friendly welcome on arrival and room was fabulous. Very comfortable and spacious Breakfast again was of a high standard and freshly prepared with lots of options. We have the pleasure of staying here and when we next meet family in the area we would be certain to rebook. Thank you seem too little to say.

Marco and Winanda are fantastic hosts, managing this bright, comfortable, clean B&B. Always available for help. Just fantastic people!! The daily breakfast was delicious and even on our travel day back to the USA (leaving 6:00 am), a nice breakfast was available. The area is quite well known to us (especially my wife, Irma, because she was born and raised a mile from the Lake Inn). The rooms are very comfortable with comfortable mattresses and airco/heating when needed (we didn't need it). Marco and Winanda have new ebikes for rent and also electric boats (a 'must' when the weather is nice!- unfortunately weather was not that great during our stay). Location is perfect for many activities: Boat ride on the lake, bike ride in the area, visit the windmills. But also the bigger cities (like Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden) are all a short drive. We hope next time we are in/near Nieuwkoop, we can stay again in the Lake Inn. And then we hope we can rent a boat. So long, Marco & Winanda (and sweet dog Bobby)!

Perfect all around. Quaint setting, very clean, beautiful rooms….owners are polite and wonderful to talk to, breakfast is top notch! Highly recommend
