Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe old part is very nice - the new attached building where you’re most likely staying is a bit ugly. But for €72 for a night I really cant complain!

NetherlandsWe knew it was a 'pet friendly' hotel, but we didn't need to see dogs pooing on the floor of the restaurant, or keeping us awake with barking. You have to love dogs to stay here. They're everywhere! No clear explanation as to tea and coffee facilities. Paid a small fortune for a cold coffee. Whilst friendly enough, the service in the bar/restaurant was very slow.
Set in a lovely location. Close proximity to the centre of Maastricht.

NetherlandsPlease be aware if you’re a solo traveller who is travelling from the nearby Maastricht Noord train station that the walk towards the property is very dark and remote when the sun sets. You walk partly in nature and partly between some industrial buildings, and you need to go through a little tunnel. There are no lights for most of the walk. We were fine as we were together but I would not have walked there alone at night. We certainly got our money’s worth in terms of the location, the beautiful building and common areas, and the upbeat staff. Be aware though that the rooms run (very) small. Our shower was leaking and there were some mold patches on the ceiling of the shower. There was no coffee machine in the room. We loved that there was no ventilation system noise in the room (you can switch it off completely) and it was quiet at night. Rooms are certainly not noise tight though. Hallway and other rooms are audible. Rooms are going to be restyled soon I understood from the staff, which will be the finishing touch to a lovely hotel.
Beautiful property with great common areas. The staff were kind and upbeat.

Common areas are beautiful, inside and outside. Lovely stay. Rooms could match the uniqueness of the common areas but that would be the only improvement. Very comfortable and everything was very clean also.

GermanyThe only thing we didn’t like is that our bed had two mattresses which separated while sleeping. That wasn’t soo comfortable. Furthermore, we could hear everything in front of our door. We woke up a several times. However, the location is superbe!
The location, the hotel and the park are amazing. There are animals in the park. The food and drinks are great. Also the staff is helpful and nice.

LuxembourgThe room was pretty small and simple. Since we were only staying overnight, it was not much an issue for us as we preferred to be outside on the castle ground and the city. But it's certainly not a resort type of room where you would want to hang. I don't recall there were many types of them either as the upper floors have meeting rooms instead of more rooms. The dining restaurant looks absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the place was booked out for a student party there. We did not enter as it was far too noisy and crowded. We had some snacks and drinks in the breakfast room instead which was being used as the restaurant for the evening. Perhaps it was due to the resources being pulled to cater for the party, but waitstaffs were pretty inattentive.
The castle ground is beautiful. Our dog really enjoyed exploring it and running around in it. We love that our dog is welcomed as part of the family and could be everywhere with us. We had a dog bed and a pouch with a few dog biscuits, a couple of dog poop bags and a tennis ball. The breakfast was not astounding but they were sufficient with adequate variety, tasted fresh and great, which we found just perfect for breakfast.

NetherlandsCheck-in time was 15:00 but our room was not still cleaned when it was 15:00. The receptionists did not really care about the fact that we could not settle in our rooms on time. There was not even a ''sorry''. We could get in our rooms at 15:15. The room was in the extension building which was relatively new compared to the main building. The view of the room was disappointing since we could only see the car parking lots.
Surroundings are very beautiful. It is located in a nice nature area. It is nice for relaxation and having a walk. Breakfast was okay.

United StatesNo gluten free or dairy free milk selections at breakfast (my husband has restrictions so he ate fruits mostly) The service was very slow or non-existent but I'm hoping it was because of the two weddings that took place over the weekend. Thankfully we weren't on a rush so we waited until someone showed up for the most part. The room was quite small, we had a hard time fitting, two adults and a dog, but we did. No slippers or robes in the room.
The breakfast buffet was quite nice and plenty of selections for people with no dietary restrictions. We asked for a ground level room because we traveled with our dog and the hotel gave us one which was great for not having to go through the lobby every time. The restaurant menu was pretty nice. the bar had a good selection of drinks to pick from. The hotel room was pretty clean. The shower was nice, it had good water pressure and it had a walk in shower which was very nice. They have refillable large soap and shampoo bottles in the rooms, which I like from sustainability perspective. The hotel grounds are super nice. Very green and clean. it was nice to walk around and enjoy the nature. There were sequoia trees which was surprising. A dragon in the garden and little doors on trees for the elves :) It was super sweet. The bar and the green room were very elegant, lots of nice architectural details. I will most probably go back.

NetherlandsI honestly did not think the room and amenities matched the price. To be more specific, I expected at least a bathtub which was not there. The TV was just cable and had no internet so my options were limited. Also, I did not like I came with my partner and we were given a twin bed which was had to stay together. I did not expect that. I also did not find the wifi which I did not bother asking because I did not need. I am just mentioning the wifi because I think it should be easier to find.
The location and area around lived up to my expectations. It is really nice if you want a quiet walk in the evening with beautiful nature. The view in front of the hotel is also pretty good, my windows were facing the back which was unfortunate but that's not an issue. The breakfast was lovely as well, there was so much to choose from and it tasted really good.

NetherlandsCheck-in was at 3pm, got the key, but room wasn't clean upon entry. The cleaning ladies apologised, and mentioned the hotel was fully booked the night before and due to a party late check-outs. All understandable, but lower score on this one. Would've given a 8 or 9 overall.
It's an absolutely beautiful location with lots of areas to relax and enjoy a drink or eat something. My lunch was fabulous.
