Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWe didn't like leaving. Bergen and the house are delightful. Recommend a stay here.
The house is absolutely charming and modern, but preserving the character of the original building. Really clever adaption. There are lots of great touches that make staying here comfortable and easy. It is.an easy.walk to the city.

United KingdomLovely house in a pleasant, quiet area. The house is old but is very well fitted out with modern appliances. Great recommendations from owners regarding local walks/bars/bakery. Supermarket next door.

United StatesThere is a booklet left by the owner explaining the history and all necessary information about the house and stay. The little house is so lovely. All the renovation makes it back to life from 1780’s. A short 5 minutes bus ride sent us right at the downtown harbor. A supermarket is only steps away.

United KingdomFun! Very quirky little traditional house with everything we needed. Kitchen amazingly well kitted out considering size and age of property. Soap, dishwasher tablets, washing machine and detergent, shower gel and shampoo, some basics in the kitchen. Ideal for a couple but worked for a family of 3 for a couple of nights due to comfy sofa bed. Parking right beside (paying - use the Bergen parking app, there are no signs indicating it being a paying car park!), mini-market and bus stop - very easy to go into town either by bus or a 20 odd minute walk. Easy access to the house with a code so no key to contend with. Excellent contact from hosts and clear information provided. Didn't realise the house was surrounded by other buildings. Not an issue as such but not obvious from the photo as you would expect it was on a street.

United KingdomBeing honest, as I read reviews avidly, the outside was looking a little grubby and the house is in a little alley looking at a large new ugly building. Would totally book to stay here again (if wanted to be a bit out of Bergen) as the hosts and inside of the house are 10/10 BUT the outside set up isn’t what we were expecting. Not a negative as such, just our thoughts.
This house is beautiful. Cosy, characterful and really adds to the Norwegian experience! The kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment and the house is super clean and comfy YET old, wonky and truly memorable! The bedroom is lovely, the shop is close by and it’s a very nice 20ish minute stroll from the centre of Bergen. Hosts were amazing on communication too!

AustriaI took me a moment to find any light switch in the dark. That's the worst thing I could say about this awesome place.
When entering the house, I've instantly fell in love with the nice timber smell of the house. Smells like a sauna in there. Very cozy. Very cute.

We had a wonderful stay at this small and cozy house. It truly felt like a home, with everything well-arranged for a comfortable experience. The flexible check-in was a big plus, making the arrival process smooth and stress-free. The location was excellent—very close to the city center, with a bus stop just a 2-minute walk away. Additionally, the nearby Joker store, also just 2 minutes away, was a great convenience. The host was excellent, providing clear and detailed instructions on how to reach the property, which was incredibly helpful. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm and hassle-free stay!

Everything if you want to experience the authentic Bergen then this is for you. It was minus 8 outside and the house was lovely and warm extremely clean and everything you needed to make it at home from home. The local shop called the joker was a 2 min walk from the property and so was the bus stop. You could walk to the centre of Bergen within 20 mins it was perfect !!

AustraliaProperty was difficult to find on arrival - Bergen suburban layouts are NOT straight forward and Booking.com detailed instructions are not well presented. The old, two story building worked for us however anyone tall, wide, infirm or less mobile might have had a problem with the narrow spiral stairs.
We enjoyed this quirky and historic building in a great location only a few bus stops from Central Bergen. The cottage had every modern facility we needed and we felt very comfortable and welcome. The nearby supermarket is very convenient, nearby BOD 24 coffee and cold water plunge is a "must visit".

NorwayUnfortunately we experienced a very bad smell in the house which didn’t go away despite open windows and door. It reeked of something similar to a cat box (pee?) but hosts claimed there were no cats before. We slept with open windows. Apart from that, a very clean house.
Very cute charming house with a really convenient location. It truly added to our stay in Bergen. Easy communication with hosts and easy check-in and check-out. Perfect for a couple or small family.
