Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe room in the attic was horrible, almost impossible to walk due to the very low ceiling under pitched roof. Same problem in the bathroom.
The only hotel in the area. Nicely decorated area and houses in a traditional style. Good breakfast.

United StatesThought we had reserved twin beds so not a great night sleep due to sleeping with my daughter. Otherwise our room was lovely and roomy.
Loved the settings and terrific store. Breakfast and dinner were good, with quality food and service.

FranceRooms could be bigger, but we managed to open our suitcases in the spacious bathroom (floor heated).
Very charming rooms behind the by-the-road restaurant, all Norwegians know this place. It has a big shop with candles, local food, decorations and mountain wear. You can spend hours there. Breakfast boufet has a nice choice of sweet and savoury. You can eat very well. The restaurant menu was OK, but nothing extraordinary. Kids appreciated the goats and the mill in the hotel area. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Close to magma Park and various nice trails. You can hear the nearby stream through the window.

United KingdomBeing on a bike, this place was nestled at the end of a route that passed through the mountains - whilst I was only 3km away from the hotel, the road was shut so had to make a 70km detour! Be careful of this - especially when it is raining hard and you want to get to your destination! The room was very small with the twin bed seemingly small too.
This hotel is right next to fast flowing stream that you can hear from your bedroom window - the sound of this whilst sleeping was amazing. The restuarant was the highlight of staying here, with the staff being very friendly and the food being very tasty. Bathroom had a heated floor and a nice shower - great for warming up after being drenched by the Norwegian rain.

Czech RepublicWe booked a standard room with a queen bed that was supposed to be 18m2. We got a small room of no more than 10m2 with a pitched ceiling that on booking.com was offered for a cheaper price. The breakfast had a really poor choice of food but was good enough. The filtered coffee was very bad as well, if you like good coffee, you will not get it here.
The place itself has a very authentic atmosphere, and it does not feel like staying in a standard hotel or holiday house. The beds were soft and comfy and the bathroom had heated floor which made showering after a long day feel like a treatment. There are 2 charging stations with either 50kw or 22kw, good for overnight charging. These are not free anymore and as of June 2023 the price for 22kw charging is 6.99NOK per kwh.

NorwayThe beds were uncomfortable. This was the second time we stay there and in the first time they gave us a big room, this time we stayed in a small room that it is ok for 2 persons, but not for a family of four.
This was the second time my family and I stayed at Byrkjedalstunet Hotell. We knew what to expect. It is 30m minutes drive from Sirdal Ski Resort. It has a calm and bucolic atmosphere, surrounded by the mountains. The restaurant and bakery are very famous in the are as well as the Norwegian goods store, attached to the hotel. People travell from Stavanger to shopping there or to eat. During the breakfast the chef gave a piece of chocolate cake for my daughter, that usually is not available for guests but can be buy when the restaurant is open.

SlovakiaThe restaurant closed at 7 p.m so that was not very good for us when we came back from hike in the evening.
Very nice place to stay, locality was very good for around hiking. There was also a charger for car, so that is a huge plus. The breakfast was also very yummy and big range of food.

HungaryThe lady who we met the most behind the reception desk was not really informed about the neighbouring possibilities, hiking, skiing etc.
We booked a double room for the character, but were upgraded to a better family room for free. That was really appreciated! The breakfast was adequate and enough.

Czech RepublicEverything was great 👍 👌 😌
Very cute, old world Norway 🇳🇴 😍 dairy farm converted into a comfortable hotel complex. There are not many other choices around here but this place is worth the stop. The buildings are remarkable and the souvenir/candle store is amazing 👏 . The restaurant served up a quality dinner very quickly and the breakfast buffet was outstanding with all you can ask for. 😋 Our room was very very comfortable and warm with heated floors in the bathroom. We even had goats and a small stream, right outside our bathroom. Highly recommended 👌
