Requested for a room on a higher floor during booking, and my request was affirmed via email, however I was given a room on the first/ground floor upon arrival. Soap dispenser at the sink did not work.

Bathroom could have been more modern, but was kind of ideal considering the price.

The hotel is very outdated. Staying there for a short time is ok but for a longer time it would be depressing due to the state of the rooms and hotel.

TV in room. There is a need for many more channels. Perhaps they are there, in which case, the guest requires clear instructions on how to access them

Excellent, with good array of choices and helpful staff. I particularly liked the delicious fresh fruit. In addition, the eating area was pleasantly designed, spacious and well set out. There was also a nice view onto Stavanger Centre.

We booked a family suite for 04 adults for 04nights, with late check-in. At check-in they allocated a really small, bad smelling room. Only after we complained they changed the room to a larger one, and only after the first 2 nights. The room was clean but had a bad smell. The towels were really old and one of them was even ripped; unacceptable for the an 08-rated hotel at that price. Very old facilities, no refurbishing done at all, with an ancient elevator and bad windows that made the room cold and let all the street noise in.

Very good location, close to the city centre and the pier, within walking distance to all important tourist attractions. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel. The staff was nice and spoke good English however not very helpful. The breakfast was nice with lots of options, but the same everyday.

    1. The rude and unfriendly not white and blond breakfast girl. 2. The plump white male reception. EVERYTIME we passed him he was just looking at his screen with no acknowledgment of us or any other guest! 3. Hotel Manager, Joakim, completely unaware of the number of guests that would be having breakfast and still not getting in extra help! 4. Car park is 600 mt in a costly public car park. 5. The hotel and room. Needs some very serious investment and updating. Room 424. Double glazed windows but still the street noise from the early trucks delivering starting at 5am were ineffective! Lampshades with stains! Wall paper peeling off with no attempt to rectify. Electrics looked iffy and when I tried to pull the plug away the box pulled away! No bath mat. No toiletries. Breakfast choice was poor in selection and quality. Pancakes made the previous day were glad-wrapped and left all day near the coffee machine and then found available for breakfast next day!!!! A very uncared for Comfort hotel which does not live up to value for money or any desired basic standards for its guests when compared with their other hotels or nearest competitor! Pay a little more and find another place.

    1. The location 2. Free tea and coffee 24/7 3. The young blonde girl helping at breakfast in that she was busy, helpful and with a smile. 4. Oskar, at reception. Always with a smile and greeting.

The electricity supply to various sources was not easy to understand as there were many wires crossing the room (along the skirting board) so care had to be taken when walking. No explanation or instruction was given so it took a while to switch on the correct amenity. Not a safe situation for children who could easily trip over the wires.

The room was 10m2, we had no space to walk in the room when we opened our luggage. Furnitures were old fashioned. There wasn't any water heater, coffee or tea in the room. There was nothing in the room actually, just the room itself:) Breakfast is between 6.30 and 9.30. So you can miss the breakfast if you want to sleep a little bit more. Someone may argue that the location is in the center of the city. But stavanger is also a very small town, it takes 30 minutes to walk from one end to another. So the hotel in fact has nothing to offer to you when you think of the price you pay.

The staff was always positive, which is the only good thing in the hotel :)

    - Access to power sockets to recharge smartphone and tablet was poor (under the desk and behind the bed). - Wifi speed below-par (first time it happens, it was ok last time) - When you book through booking.com you get no points on your choicehotels.no card. This is the second time it happens.

Personnel as usual was very friendly and answered gently to all questions. This seems a stupid remark but when you are travelling for work it is really a big plus for me and makes me feel "comfortable".

The downsides are there's no parking so budget in another £20 a day if you have a car. My single room was tiny and for £90 a night, I did expect better. No storage in the room so clothes on the window sill, electric light switch loose on the wall and whilst the bathroom was a decent size, it too was very dated and getting hot water was a bit of a lottery at times. External noise was also an issue with rubbish trucks and the likes. This place needs seriously done up before I think about staying again...

I booked this due to the location which is really good. Other good points are the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, I thought the choice was more than enough. The late breakfast at the weekend didn't suit me as I was working but I still got a decent selection from the cold choices...

Shame there are no facilities in the bedroom for making tea or coffee, if you want a drink in the evenings or very first thing you must go through to the lobby and dining area to find something. Stairs at the entrance make this a challenging place to stay for disabled visitors.

Staff, breakfast, beds, all excellent. Breakfast is delicious, varied and plentiful. Free wifi, nice rooms with TVs, always been very clean when I have stayed. Staff are very accommodating and helpful, always friendly and approachable. Location is fantastic, right in the centre of the city. Breakfast until 12 on Sundays and the option of late check out at 6pm is a revelation (no extra charges) and makes this my favourite place to stay at the weekends, when combined with a great price!

The rooms looked like being from the 80s. The light in the rooms made them look gloomy. There was no shampoo or hair dryer in the room, the hair dryer had to be picked up from the reception.

Breakfast was really good! The ingredients of all the dishes were written up beside them and the emphasis was on ecologigal and healthy food. The location was also really great in the heart of the city: the pedestrian shopping area, the market place and the cathedral etc were just around the corner.

Stayed in small single room, no closet or dresser drawers...just hooks on the wall to hang a few things, no room safe, no power outlet in bathroom, several power outlets in room but only at floor level (have to get on knees to plug in) plus one in the ceiling (why?). Overall it was a basic place to sleep at night after being out and about all day so it worked well for me.

Front desk staff were all great and helpful with questions, good view of cathedral from 5th floor room, decent breakfast included, great location minutes from waterfront, restaurants, bus station, grocery store right by hotel, etc. Price was good compared to other options at time I booked.

The shower flooded, so the staff kindly offered us another room, which because I was mid shower was a little hassle to move, but not hat big a deal. Although this was late at night, and when we woke the next morning in the new room, I woke up with little bites all over me, they said they fully fumigated the room and there weren't bed bugs, but none the less, it's not a fun time being covered in itching bites.

You get what you pay for. Cheap hotel, but next time I will pay more and avoid dirty hotels with carpets on the floor in the room
