How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewDefinitely recommend this apartment for anyone coming to Tromsø! Great location, quiet neighbourhood, easy access to bus to city centre, has all essential amenities and looks exactly as shown in pictures. Eurospar within walking distance for shopping as well. Kai is super helpful and responsive and is a great host!

Verified reviewWe loved how light, bright and cosy the apartment was. When the weather was a bit too miserable to go outside - it was a comfortable space to relax in. Kai, our host, was fabulous. And the close proximity to a large supermarket, a big advantage.
There was nothing we didn't like! For the information of others - the apartment is a little ways out of central Tromsø but we never had long to wait for a bus. Access to the main road (to catch the bus) at times became difficult to negotiate due to the ice, but that is all part of life in northern Norway.

Cleanliness is not the best. It feels like they are cleaning very superficially Also, be mindful that you will be asked to take out the trash, remove the sheets, and shovel if it snows.

Verified reviewThe location was OK, it was in a beautiful neighborhood that was quiet. It was 3 mins walk to the bus stop, and 3 stops away to the city. We liked that there was a washer / dryer in the bathroom.
There was no heating in the bedroom, or at least not that we could locate or see. There was one heater in the living room which sort of heated up the unit.

I always encourage guests to contact me during their stay if they experience any discomfort - I'm available 24/7 to help adjust settings or resolve any issues. Verified reviewThis apartment in Tromso is very cozy, tidy and perfect for a short visit! The location is great, just about 3-4 bus stops away from the city center, short walking distance to Eurospar and the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. Everything was as expected, the rooms are just like in the photos and the organization was great!

Verified reviewEverything was great and smooth from check in till check out. The Host, Kai will response to us promptly before our arrival and during our stay. The amenities in the apartment is up to my expectation and the room and bed are comfortable for us. The plus point is the location which close to bus stop and also 1 supermarket down the street for buying some groceries. Enjoy our stay in this apartment and shall recommend to other who visit Tromso.

Verified reviewGreat location, we did not have to use the car at all to make our way through Tromso. The apartment has everything that is needed for a short stay to visit Tromso.
There is no parking possibility at the apartment. Payed parking is available close by, but it is rather expensive and the app needed to book parking is not straight-forward to non-Norwegians.

Verified reviewLocated in a quiet residential area and near to the city center, about 5-7 minutes by taxi. The apartment is clean and well equipped with all amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Beds are comfortable and hot water shower, washing machine and dryer all work well. A big supermarket is just across the road outside the house. The host is meticulous in providing comprehensive instructions on the house.

Bed was pretty small for two people and host didn’t check there were two people, so only one towel etc. they did apologize for it. Other than that was great.
