We spent 2 womderful weeks with our three children in this extremely beautiful, well equipped and cosy house with its vast garden and spacious terrace. The view is breathtaking. We went for long hikes and strolled around the nearby towns and went swimming in the Atlantic ocean. It was great! We can highly recommend this place. Knut was always extremly accommodating and helpful.

Excellently positioned. House is at he slope of a hill with great view on the fjord and a very nice terrace with view on evrything in the environment. Enough space for us 5. Very nice athmosphere x of and old wooden house inside nicely refurbished and renovated! Knut Helge Vestre is a very nice host too.

We where very happy in the house. If anything could be a bit better it would be the cooking equipment in the kitchen, like knifes, scissor, big pan, pot-lids... All the big tools like stove, oven coffee machine are very nice.

Everything was really good. Very nice and cosy house with everything you need at hand, very complete inventory. Very clean. Amazing views! Very friendly host. One of the best places we have ever stayed, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

When coming down the main road from the west, google maps doesn’t give the right directions, so we advise the host to send the guests driving directions beforehand. Some small windows don't have curtains, so during summer the bedroom isn't dark at night.

    Thank you.

Great view of the mountains, quiet location, the house is cosy and full of character, with lots of space, a large Veranda and extensive garden. The kitchen is well equipped as is the bathroom with a good sized shower. The bed we slept in was comfortable with useful bedside tables.

The furniture is rather old, which looks OK with the house, but is not so comfortable to sit on for any length of time. The bedrooms have just clothes rails to hang clothes on but no cupboards or draws, so we left most of our clothes in our suitcases on the floor. The bedrooms are two doubles each with adjoining single bedrooms but no doors on the Singles, fine for young families or older couples like us but I'm not sure about older children.

    Thank you.

Such a beautiful house with the most impressive view. The house is old with a lot of character. It was very clean and well presented and in such a fabulous location. We were visited by deer in the garden almost every day - so special.

    Nothing bad to say.

    Property response:

Thank you. All the best from Knut Helge

Fantastic terrace with astonishing views on the fjord. Good location for exploring Ålesund surroundings. Very spacious (and many) rooms. Well equipped kitchen, including an electronic grill in the terrace. Knut, the host, was very attentive and kind and came quickly to the house when we requested him to fix the grill. Our kids (3 and 6) loved the hand-made swing and all the space to play around.

The staircase joining the two floors is not very comfortable, but this goes with the 19th century house experience. Shampoo and shower gel are not provided (though I must say that the host offered to bring us some as soon as we told him about it). This is something we have found in other places in Norway, so it must be kind of a tradition, but honestly it costs nothing and makes life of the travelers much easier, so I'd recommend to change such a tradition. Careful with google indications to arrive by car because it will try to take you through a couple of car-impracticable (and I would say, dangerous) paths.

Fjordsview house has unobstructed high mountain 180 degree panoramic views from the wrap-around deck, that will blow your mind away on a sunny day (we stayed here 6 nights and it was sunny on 5 out of 6 days). The place can accommodate a family of 8-10 (as long as you all share the single bathroom downstairs). All the bedrooms are upstairs (two bedrooms with double beds with side room extensions for 3 additional single beds; There is another single bed in the upstairs living room) which is accessible with a narrow staircase. Downstairs you will find two large living rooms (one of them can be easily made into a bedroom), one dining room, kitchen with everything you can think of (oven, refrigerator, freezer with ice tray, microwave, dish washer, outdoor grill) along with a washer/dryer in the large bathroom (with plenty of towels and toilet paper rolls). Guests must bring their own shampoo and soap, but there is no soap tray or shampoo holder in the small rectangular shower (you have to place them over the long horizontal bar with shower controls). There is a fast internet (80-120mbps) connection and private parking in front of the house. If you are coming from the direction of Alesund, Google maps will give you wrong directions for turning (skip the turn and Google will correct it automatically). The correct turn has a road sign named “Vestre”. Fjordsview is close to Møre og Romsdal region attractions (Geiranger, Andalsnes etc.,) and car ferries are very reasonably priced in Norway for frequent trips. There are nearby grocery stores (closed on Sundays) and a great restaurant called Systra Café which is open 7-days a week (serves everything from ice cream, salads, pizza to sandwiches).

Nothing we didn't like, but listed below are a few suggestions: Dryer gets very hot and does not dry clothes well for some reason (we used the hamper to dry them) - Dryer vents may need to be cleaned. Consider providing shampoo/soap for the guests and placing them in a vacuum holder for them in the shower. The shower drain is clearing the water a little slower than expected - it may need some debris clearing from the drain. Blackout bedroom curtains will be helpful since the sun sets around 11pm and rises by 3am during summer time.

    Property response:

    Thank you😊
