Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI thought the room would be a little fancier? I don't need that. I was just surprised. Also, when I tried to book another night for the end of my trek, it was twice the price I originally paid to stay there. I'm not sure why that would be (on booking.com). I booked a different hotel, which I thought was nicer overall.
I liked the environment of where the hotel was located. The lobby for the hotel was very nice and respectful. The room was nice enough, with a warm shower and everything I needed.

AustraliaThe room was a little small, but we were on budget, so we got the room we paid for.
KGH is a beautiful oasis of peace and tranquillity in the middle of Kathmandu's tourist and traveller section. The spacious gardens are a heavenly escape from the bustle.

The staff were simply fantastic, in particular the manager Gaurav! They were attentive to our every need and responded quickly to our requests. The breakfast is generous and diversified and the italien restaurant makes a great pasta.

Greecethe size of the new rooms and the fact that there are no hooks to hang the towels in the bathroom
the location is very convenient in the middle of Thamel, yet it is quiet and peaceful. We have stayed in the hotel many times, I personally find the old rooms more spacious and comfortable than the new rooms. The new rooms are smaller and narrower, there is no space to put your suitcase, there are no hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels, the balcony is tiny. The garden however is an oasis in the middle of the chaos of Thamel. A place to come to rest . I would recommend the hotel, the service is good and the staff friendly.

United States of AmericaFriday and Saturday nights can be noisy from local clubs. Unfortunately there was construction going on next door which made afternoons an issue also on that slow day when you want to relax in your room. Rooms can be old but kind of lovable if you can overlook some tiredness. Overall not the best value but I would cross my fingers (noise) and stay there again.
The courtyard is the best part of the property. A nice oasis from hectic Thamal. The staff works hard and do the best they can with such a quirky property.

United KingdomThe room was small and could have done with some updating. It cost more to stay there than it would have other hotels but you're paying for the name and history. We chose not to have breakfast there was it was expensive compared with other options nearby.
KGH is right in the centre of Thamel and so is in a great location. The gardens are lovely although sadly we didn't really have much time to properly appreciate them. Enjoyed the cocktail in the rooftop bar during happy hour.
